I imagine Maggie Valley is Pigeon Forge from the 50s. But, it never caught on and the big attraction failed. Really cool place to visit and lots of things to see.

When I was a little girl we used to go to a place I believe was in Maggie Valley called Ghost town in the sky! I remember that chair lift up on top of that mountain! Cherished memories!
I have even seen elk on the west side of town, near bottom of mountain. I'll take the NC side of mountain over tn side any time. I'll be spending Halloween in a trout stream somewhere near there. 3rd trip from Indiana there this year!

We took pictures for our pregnancy in front of the Maggie Valley Mountaineer crafts September of 2020. They have the best fudge there. Tiger butter is the best.
My parents use to love to drive up from Alabama to Nothern Georgia this time of the year to enjoy the fall colors and go to the Applebarn in N. Georgia . Would get Granny Smith and Golden Delicious . Mom loved it so much..I miss her very much..
We stayed at the Hillbilly RV park a couple years ago. The owners are really nice. They also run the store in front of the rv park. I was surprised to hear you say there were Cortland and MacIntosh apples there! Those were the apples I loved as a kid in the Adirondacks, and haven’t seen them available since I moved to the South. Now I want to get some, lol.
My moms family were from Maggie Valley, they were Cherokee. My mom was named Maggie for my grandfathers home place. Maggie Valley and Cherokee are both beautiful side trips to Gatlingburg or smaller quaint trip alternatives
We love Maggie Valley! It's a MUST STOP for us. We always stay at A Holliday Motel. Year after year we always get room #1. It's like home to us. Thanks for sharing. God bless.
I see that you are over in Maggie valley North Carolina I follow a couple of UA-camrs y'all are one and Fridays forever been trying to get someone to do something on popcorn Sutton the moonshine man over there and Maggie valley he's been passed away about 10 years now he has a lot of history over there in them hills I wish someone would dedicate a UA-cam video to popcorn Sutton and his legacy
