He could sell me air
Fr 🤣
If I owned a shop, I would want him on board. He does not put your feet to sleep and demos well. I think people would at least buy what they could afford as they go.
You're talking crisps now, right?
Haha!
Ikr!!
Beck from Victorious really moved to the UK, became a guitarist, and called himself Dagan. Nice
I had the exact same thought
He learned the accent while he was at Hollywood Arts
and mixed with a bit of ben barnes and johnny depp
This dude is literally jack sparrow as a guitar salesman
I see him more as a sane Russell Brand.
@@RainerK. Now I see Jack Sparrow as a pirate version of Russel Brand xD
Its uncanny lol

I friggin love this Dagan guy! He's so rock and roll.
Me too, he’s sooo cool
He is cool
Is this kind of manliness even legal in London these days?
@@rdrake316 I believe he may be on the ragged edge. Lol.
What does that even mean.... explain to me how he is “so rock n roll”? Saying he’s rock n roll is such a wanky thing to even say. But now I’m curious as to what on earth that even means.
"Swimming in a lovely pond of your own notes" beautiful :)
His charisma is otherworldly. I don’t know if it’s the accent or the way he chooses his words, but I definitely want pedals now.
Watching your videos has rekindled my love for guitar. It's been years since I've played and I no longer even own one. After watching your videos, I've been inspired to go out and buy everything once again and dive back into playing.
🤘
A year later, still doing guitar?
I’d like an update too as to how you’re progressing!
Get a Harley Benton Fusion III.
Chuffed to hear someone so excited by someone else’s work… Gifts are made to share, right? Hope he is able to continue sharing his gifts as I am fairly certain that you are not the only one so affected 😊. 🎸👨🏼⚕️🎸🫶✌️♾️

I've said before on some of Dagan's other videos. I think he could / can sell ANYTHING. Always explained in down to earth language. No in depth tech talk ... Great guy :)
It's easy to sell something that you genuinely love to mess around with. He's having so much fun. It's contagious.
Ive been playing for decades, and Ive probably learned more from this guy in the last 10 months!
6:26 "and I always go for.... The Korg Miku"
That's immediately what I thought he was gonna pull out
Leave it to Dagan and PMT to always keep the videos exciting, entertaining and AMAZING! 👌 from Dragan in Canada! Makes me smile during a dark time.
Dagan got me hooked on this channel! Love the energy and enthusiasm
That submariner on the right wrist must have scratched so many guitars...
He must be a lefty.
Michael Loomis III but he plays the guitar right-handed. So his picking wrist is scratching back and forth against the body.
And then God said, "let there be pickguards and scratchplates" and lo, guitars became equipped with them and he saw that it was good.
Imagine having the money to be able to scratch your guitar worth thousands of pounds with your Rolex worth tens of thousands. What a life
@@Adamjpx The Job Must Pay Well
Gotta love this detailed review and explanation of each pedal and what they do.
So hard to only have five essentials. A tuner definitely needs to be one of the five.
The BD-2 was the first pedal I ever bought. I basically watched a ton of videos and then just went to a shop and tried a bunch, that one was just the one I liked the sound of the most. Love that pedal.
I loved you in “Forgetting Sarah Marshall”
I loved him in, "Get him to the Greek."
love your energy and sense of humor. you make learning about all these things fun
Dagan should have his own tv channel. Natural presenter with great humour. BBC/ITV/SKY watch out
Just an ordinary guy who explains and plays guitar really well
I think I'm more impressed that you managed to get through talking about the wah without bringing up Kirk Wammett
This is great content, I love to see Dagan reviewing stuff
Dagan you never cease to amaze!! Great selection of pedals, cool lookin' SG and Eddie Van Dagan?!? Too much fun, my friend!! Have a great week and I'll be anxiously awaiting the PMTVUK Christmas Special and the Year End Review!! Cheers from Canada!
Its a les Paul jajaja 😉

Perfectly perfect Dagan I have all of them your videos are very cool and I can’t get enough of them
What a brilliant video, just what I was looking for.
please never stop making these videos...ever.
7:44.... Literally the best tone I´ve ever heard... wow...
Blues driver man. Blues driver.
He is good.
That was my favourite part - what a tone! Is it all pedals together or just some?
Warhead lmao I watched that part atleast 10 times
Absolutely outstanding video all round!
Another invaluabe vid from Dagan, great advice and recommendations that save me hours of research.
Finally I found info on what a beginner should be looking at for a starter board and how they work. And my amp has many of these effects so this gives me some ideas of how to use it better.
Very impressed with this guy, great at what he does, one of the better tubers out there in the guitar world, he explains everything so one can understand it, he's not there trying to impress or show off and talk above peoples heads.
Wah you say? Lol. Yes I make faces when using my wah pedal. My cat looks at me while I'm doing it and is trying to figure out if the sounds are coming from my mouth 😆
😂😂😂😂😂
Playing with myself, with my delay pedal is one of my favourite things to do at the end of a long hard day...
Nothing beats 'playing with yourself'.

Awesome video man thanks !
This is soo much fun talking about pedals. I've used so many over the years. All of the ones you're using are great. I've played most of them so far. I'm using a Boss Turbo Overdrive instead of the BluesDriver. I bought all my pedals as they became avilable years ago when the dinosaurs were still playing. I remember my Uncles telling me Music was better when they were playing. I started in the Van Halen Era. I'm a dinosaur too I guess.
This chanel has always been helpful!
I've been playing for 25 years and at this point I get so caught up in having that "next great pedal." But realistically, this is all you need to make some great tones. That was a really fun vid. Thanks!
Really fun video. Thank you!
One of the best guitar tone videos out there
Great video, I like this Phaser pedal though I got the MXR EVH phase 90 2 days ago, I like all the pedals you did. Even the Blues Driver
The old hair was the best brotherman.
Love your reviews ,happy new year from the convict island mate.
Great video, thanks for posting!
This is such a great video. I had a school band in the 80s with no pedals and just a cheap guitar. I recently got back into it and have a Boss Overdrive with a Cry Baby Wah. I do have a few effects on my litle Marshall practice amp but the reverb is something I really want next and also the phaser as my inbuilt one is not so hot. Great demo - cheers.
Love you guy's videos!
It's like Jack Sparrow had a baby with Russell Brand, and that baby had a baby with Phil X.
Perfectly summed up.
Excellent Video 👍👍👍.
Absolutely Brilliant choice of Pedals, been playing for nearly twenty years Sold my DD3 instant regret, a mate replaced it for me, I was so Grateful!
You couldn't done any better at choosing 5 Essential Pedals, I do love the Neunaber Immerse Reverb but it is quite expensive.
Take care ♥️🎸👍.
Melbourne, Australia.
You are so authentic and sympathetic
Really useful for a beginner. Thank you 🙌
Diffently, a Wah Wah! So far every pedal you've mentioned is totally cool. My very first pedal was a MXR Phase 45. Of course I stepped up to the 90. Don't have either pedal now but it is in my next purchase. Been thinking about going with the mini MXR.
Man this is so awesome. Thank you so much.
I just love that sg!
I think noise gate pedal can be quite essential as well
That was lovely fx!
That SG and Vox sound really good together, I never considered that combo.
Eddie van dagan love it
Cool helpful video! Thanks!
I love the Tele on the end sunburst , bound white pickguard !
his descriptions on most of his vids are really good
This dude has the best helpful videos no cap
Pretty spot on. I like a compressor, boost, overdrive, 2nd overdrive, delay long, and delay slap into Fender Deluxe Reverb using Les Paul with coil splitting, but agree with your witty reasoning and repartee! Keep up the good work young man!
I think it was a good summary too. I have tried other pedals but never bonded with some (chorus, flanger). My essentials are LP into a Treble Boost > Tuner > Compressor > Overdrive > Delay > Amp (Fender Reverb). Have a few of the others in there, but normally on bypass (Phaser/Fuzz/Wah/EQ).
Great reviews mate!
Good practical advice for all here.
The Boss Blues Driver is a wonderful little pedal 🤘
TS-9 is a must as well. Can’t wait for Eddie van Dagan and Best of 2019🤘
This is a pedal passion list.
What is it?
What does it do?
Why do you need it? + some heart spilled in
Gibson SG, Vox AC15 and a Blues Driver...Great taste dude!
1- Saturarion (Overdrive/Distortion, etc)
Ibanez Tube Screamer (or Fuzzface, Big Muff, BOSS OD-2)
2- Wah
Dunlop Crybaby
3- Modulation
Boss Digital Delay (or EHX Cathedral)
THAT'S IT
The real essential ones.
But of course, you could add in a second tier, pedals like Phase 90, Rotovibe, Morley Wah, etc...
Nice vid mate! I agree with your choices.... but might would have included a nice chorus pedal as well.
Many players seen to try to expect pedals to play for them.... there is no substitute for actual talent and technique.
The inspiration for "Wild Stallions"!!!🎸🤘🎸
Thanks man, helped a lot! :)
That was very entertaining 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Bravo.
Wah pedal always have a special place in my heart, big fan of both Hendrix and Metallica even now(13 now) my dad said if I could play the intro of One perfectly in a week, he would buy me a wah, and nailed it 🤟🏻, my pedal board now has that Dunlop GCB-95 and That Boss DS-1, I need that overdrive I’m now saving for it but it’s gonna be a while
Did you get it?
Before watching this video, not sure about getting any guitar pedals. After watching this video, now I know which guitar pedals I need!
Glad to see Boss get some love. With so many boutique pedals on the market some people scoff at the idea of having a 50 dollar Boss overdrive on their board not knowing the very pedal they love and paid 200 bucks for is likely just a mod for a Boss pedal. Looking at you JHS.
Thanks dude. You sound like you have like a hint of Scouse in your voice. I've got a vintage cry baby. The boss delay is already on my list along with the boss eq pedal. My biggest surprise here is the phaser. What a great pedal! Turn the fun up to eleven!
I could listen to this guy for hours
This video is so helpful
Cool Jam 😎 Nice demo
Just bought an amp from pmt great fast delivery nearly blew the windows out enjoys degans bids thanks
We hope it serves you well! -Lee
I love Bd2. Great price great look great sound ! Just amazing ! It can sound like an amp an OD or like a fuzz with an overdriven amp.
For me it's simple, tube screamer, chorus, loop, noise gate and whammy.
Totally agree, but i would also recommend a looper such as the Ditto
Very personable guy. Great vid. Thanks
you're my favorite. thank you!
Always puts a smile on my face he is so relaxed and out there, imagine walking in the shop and he comes to assist you. Superb keep it up man
i think this is excellent advice and i would like to add some auxiliary information. i ended up playing a lot of afternoon, outdoor gigs, with 10 minute band-change times. more pedals just equals more pain in the bum, in such a situation.
like many of the other commentors, i advise getting an amp with built-in reverb, clean, dirty and dirty-volume-boost facilities (i wish they would also include volume boost on the clean channel, but i have never seen that). way less pedals, for a practical situation.
one of the worst problems in daytime outdoors is ya can't see the active light, on most pedals.
often, pedals crackle, hiss or even shut down your signal chain. always ram your quarter inch plugs in and out of the jacks on your pedals (kinda like intercourse) to clean off the connection-corrosion which causes this.
from the perspective of listening to bands, i find that when people just click on a wah pedal, then leave it alone, they get the coolest, throaty, filtered sound on lead passages.
if you are going to use a delay pedal, get someone in the audience to record your sound. i have heard so many guitar signals, smeared to the point of unrecognizability by poorly-set delay pedal controls. this could also go the "fun" effects (like phaser, chorus or flanger). you may find, in a live situation, that they actually detract from a good, solid, present guitar sound.
This helped me
Great informative video! -Kelly, New Jersey, USA
I bought a Blues Driver because of this video. Went to Sam Ash, tried out a few pedals, remembered you mentioned it, tried it, and fell in love.
You still love it ?
@@benallmark9671 Yeah. Great OD with a fuzz pedal.
I went through several overdrive or distortion pedals when I started piecing my board together before I realized you can’t beat a tube amp overdrive tone. Currently I just run my Mesa Boogie mini Rec and I have a boost pedal if I want it to get real nasty
Woohoo he's back!
beautiful sg. Custom sg's sound amazing.
Thinking Dunlop wah, DD-7 delay, big muff fuzz, ISP decimator noise suppressor and ditto looper. My Blackstar 40 MkII amp has massive gain & overdrive, plate and spring reverb, and American and British voicing.
If we are talking essentials, I think every aspiring guitar player should invest in a proper tuner before anything else, but this was a very nice demonstration. I liked your choices of pedals here. My first pedal was a TU-3 and my second was a BD-2. Been having them for about 15 years now and they still work perfectly. I loved the Phase 90's tone at 14:05. It sounded just like JPJ's piano during Zeppelin's live performance of "No Quarter" at the Celebration Day concert. It's a nice choice for those soft piano tones. I already have so many ideas from watching this. Thanks so much
My first pedal was a Vox Wah Wah pedal and just ordered my second pedal a TC electronic forcefield
