Bolvar was leading covenants forces in Korthia, and with Thrall and Jaina was fighting Sylvanas and Jailer in Sanctum of Domination, so i wouldnt say "nothing" if i were you
@@megrimlockmesmart.1200 trolls lore are amazing in shadowlands. their god actually protects their soul and their afterlife is the only true myth from azeroth. vol jin actually helped save loa and sacrificed himself to become a demigod. I think night elves are now the most useless race. Even if they my favoritefavorite race.
The fact that the Jailer was behind everything and that Sylvanas "is the only one" are so dumb, but the parts with Uther speaking with Jaina and Thrall with his mother are so lovely and wholesome. Plus, Elune's "I have condemned my favored children" gets me every time ;-; I just want Sylvanas out of the story once and for all, but Uther's words to her were touching. "We cannot change the past, and we may never find forgiveness in the future... But inaction damns us all." Truly words to live by. On another note, thank you for this edit, adding the pieces from the cinematics and the phrases from Warcraft in the Uther/Arthas interaction made it so much better, well done.
agreed terrible story telling that warcraft 3 was jailer is freaking retarded, bfa and sl had terrible writing, legion was last decent expansion with pretty good story, blizzard keep hiring morons to write these characters, and guy been writing Sylavanas for so long lost his mind and made her a comic villain total joke.
Arthas deserved better. The Jaina and Arthas love line deserved better. Uther. Frostmourne, the Helm of Domination. All those great stories made, all of them deserved better.
Arthas' soul was the first victim to be consumed by the sword, and they kept searching for his soul in the body of the Lich King and accusing Arthas of all sins. Arthas is gone when he picked up the Frostmourne. He got his freedom along with the other souls (remember the color of his eyes when he looked at his father), but was stolen then. Uther threw that real Arthas' soul into The Maw and I hate him
@@elpierz I understand what you say. And you wrote it well. But I don't accept the new lore. The helm was broken in two. What keeps the scourge at place than? Bolvar easily defeated. Sylvannas and her plotline. Torching of Teldrassil. The whole Anduin thing. The Jailor and this whole new realm. I just don't want to. Arthas was trapped in that sword. But was heavily influencing the Lich King. Staying his hand. Not to mention Uther. It's just not okay.
@@Kareszkoma thank you for taking the time to respond. Shadowlands is my nightmare because I love Arthas. Even if the Frostmourne is able to split souls in two (the story of Sylvanas), the good part of his soul was a prisoner of the sword and could not resist it, and the dark part (revenge, anger, guilt) even more merged with the evil will of Ner'zhul and the Jailer. But both parts were sentenced to death. Why? It's so unfair. This whole plot is a tragedy. One man against the strongest forces of darkness. What were his chances? After so many years, Blizzard returned to Arthas' grave and trampled flowers, broke the tombstone, mocked his body and ordered to forget his name. It's killing me.
@@elpierz Yeah. I know. It happens. I remember when WOTLK came out. You know how the end of Warcraft 3 Wrath of the Lich King was that Arthas took on the helmet, and sit upon the throne? No more? A big unknown and cliffhanger. Ancient story by now. Such a legendary story, and came to an end. That was the heroes journey. Than came WOTLK with the continuity. Explanations. What exactly happened in the Helmet. That the combined soul of Nerzhul, the Lich King, and Arthas, had to brew together, reshaped, reformed, and made against as the Lich King. The old orcs voice, no longer listened to. Arthas voice, is no longer listened to. But.. There was a young boy in there, still influencing the Lich King. The tragedy continued. Arthas realized too late, but still saw hope. To help the people. To stay the hand of the Lich King, an ultimate weapon unchained with a brilliant and harsh tactic against the living. He set doubts in his head. The Death Knights were made and they rebelled. New champions were needed. The Scourge is just not strong enough. Whispers of doubt. Even than, in the Halls of Reflection, or at other places, glimpses of the lost hero. And so, came the end. The Lich King invited his own enemies into his castle and he was defeated. He made his own undoing and Bolvar made the sacrifice. Arthas did all he could. His artifacts that he kept, of Jaina, Muradin, Uther, he remembered. He hadn't let go. Finaly, Arthas could rest. After his mistakes, his tragedy, his journey, it was done. The story came to an end. For me, this is the end of that Era. The story was finished. The new story, just doesn't fit there. Not the new realm, not Sylvannas, nothing. I'm sorry the new story hurts you. Really. It did so for me too. But, it's how it is. I really enjoyed wotlk, even if it made me a bit toxic. It was part of my life for a while. Loved Arthas and his story, the Warcraft universe. But it's done.
Glad to hear it helped as a catch-up. The lore has gotten a bit convoluted since Shadowlands hit, so doing the best to have it flow in a way that makes sense.
Thanks for piecing them together. It's such great start, with all the rage, grief, and bravery, it all came down to a lame villain. Blizzard truly knows how to ruin it all.
The expansion had a LOT of potential with the theme they had going. Especially with all the long dead characters like Kale, Alexandros, and Arthas that seem to be sitting on sidelines and one is now a crystal essence. I’d like to see what the finale holds, but Shadowlands start had so much potential especially with Denathrius, the best character out of all this.
@@Guarrow no, the remaining staff from blizzard left just before this expacs launch and it caused a two month delay, the people doing it since, ( last 18 months) are activision staff following a storyboard with half a script.
As a horde player predominately and seeing this reminds me of how Sylvanas has been twisted by everything, she every came in contact with It's heartbreaking.
i dropped this turd with in a month, i had no desire to play it like BFA total garbage in game play and story wise, Fuck live, dragonflight will be shit as well
The funny thing, with competent writing and proper buildup, this story COULD have worked. But they would've had to have come up with Zovaal a long time ago and actually built him and his motivations up properly. Rather than pulling him out of their ass and retconning the entire story. He is the most generic "evil overlord" villain I have ever seen in media. No motivations, no buildup, no story. Just "I am evil" and the most generic thing ever "I only did it because there's an even greater evil out there". And they only did this so they could copy a FFXIV trailer and say "Look, we had this story planned from the beginning too!". I guess it's fitting that he turned into a robot at the end, he might as well have been a robot the whole time.
You can claim whatever you want about the game, and the expansions that have failed, the poor development of dungeons and raids and the constant errors that made the quality of the game reach a low level, but here we all are watching this and the game is still alive.
After I watched this again, I realized Blizzard botched Sylvanas so bad, there is really no redemption for her character. For someone so triggered over "serve", she has no trouble making others serve her will as demonstrated over the forsaken storyline after she gained major attention in Legion. She has no trouble killing those she deemed unworthy to serve her just because they wanted to see their living family members at Arathi gate. She has no trouble commanding Anduin to serve or else. But she got triggered cuz Zovval mentioned the word "serve?" Her development in last 2 xpac + SL completely destroyed her "struggling to save her forsaken" storyline developed through vanilla to MoP.
I honestly think they underestimated how popular of a character she'd become. That's why I think the redemption arc happened. To be honest, she is one of the characters in the entire game whose personality is completely understood and clear. She has layers, and her voice actress is amazing. Even her dialog is usually pretty good, which always surprises me in video games.
SO? There is a big difference over people serving you and you serving others. Sher never wanted to serve. She wanted people to serve her. Nothing triggered about it.
Let's be honest here, Sylvanus and her motives have been so wishy washy since beyond wotlk, it's impossible to determine what she will do next to accomplish her flavor-of-current-xpac goals. This latest situation she's in, was she not in a very similar conundrum, not so long ago, hmm? "I will help this totally-not walking epitome of betrayal to gain 'freedom' because there's No Way it will come back upon me towards the end!". How can she say that she will never serve, when she helped the antagonist every freakin' step of the way, only changing her mind when it was too late to stop him? She must really enjoy the drama. I admire her design, and her voice actor is excellent, but as far as a cohesive character concept, she's completely inconsistent, except with maybe her ability to bugger things up so bad, it takes the entire planet of heroes and beyond to undo it. Maybe that's the point: Sylvanus is the Neverending Grand Mulligan of WoW. I gotta say though, this multiple colored sigils that represent a certain 'aspect' is giving me a weird Infinity War/MLP Friendship is Magic vibes.
They did Arthas dirty. I just wished he would be able to “end” his story in the Shadowlands by saying to Jaina he loves her and goodbye and giving her closure. Apologising to Uther and Uther realising how Arthas was just a tool. And then vanishing slowly as he walks off.
I think they did Arthas just right. We've already seen his legacy, his actions, and his end. He had no remorse for what he did under the Jailer's control, as he chose to stray from the path that Uther set him on, down a darker path that ultimately led him to be manipulated by Mal'ganis and the Frostmourne, to take it up and don the helm of domination, and we saw what came of him because of it... nothing but a tool, the whole time, up until the last remnant of his soul died out.
I've been playing Warcraft since the original on disc, Warcraft: Orcs & Humans. Perhaps the reason why WoW felt so amazing is we saw the characters come to life and we immersed ourselves in the world itself. This was a really well put together video for people to catch up on the lore!
likely so... though there is also a sharp distinction between classic+tbc ....and eveything after that in 'how' you got to watch them come to life or how 'organic' the world was for you to lose yourself in... ever since wotlock retail sort of just been 'pseudo' open world not to mention how contrived the need for a 'uber threat' been each expansion ontop the fact nothing gets added or the world expanded unless its to justify another over priced 'expansion' ...but ye ,good times at first to bumble about in the world you glimpsed in wc2 or wc3 ;)
"We cannot change the past... And we may never find forgiveness in the future... But inaction damns us all" It's just a game and all, but hearing uther telling that (which is also very relatable in my case to Sylvanas which was my favorite character since wc3 roc got my eyes sweaty.
@Christina Azarian its the best written character of all WoW and if this is his last apperance then is great that it was so great making him basically the main protagonist of this expansion
I hate how they 'ended' Arthas. While it was his power hungry persona that went after the helm of domination and Frostmourne in the first place, it was Ner'zul and , inevitably, the Jailer who controlled him. Anyone the jailer dominated had no choice... they had to do his bidding - just like Sylvanas did to the "The Lich King." She was enraged at Arthas, but it wasn't him. And at the end, to have Arthas' spirit just "disappear?" I was so disappointed and upset! Sylvanas had a redemption storyline, why not Arthas? Someone who was truly in the grip of the jailer. Sylvanas, while doing the jailer's bidding, was not CONTROLLED by him like Arthas was and she annihilated Teldrassil and killed thousands.... then to have Sylvanas give his Arthas' last Eulogy? I was not a happy camper. Yes, the person of "Arthas" had done bad things, but it wasn't really Arthas - it was Ner'zul and the Jailer. WHY can't WoW give a better ending for one of the most popular characters of WoW legend and lore? To have Arthas just disappear like he never existed? And to have Jaina not say a THING when Arthas' spirit just vanished... *facepalm* I have all the lore books, followed every piece of lore in the game... I just don't get it. I just had to vent and lament one of my two favorite characters EVER in World of Warcraft!! (My other fav is Khadgar)
To be honest for a long time now it's felt like the writers of the current plot and storylines don't actually have any idea of what happened before they took the job. Would explain a lot on how badly they treat almost every character, the wanton constant retcons of almost everything in pre-established canon and the way characters just seem to 180 on their character. I quit the game in Legion and honestly glad i did. I keep up to date on the current story through these sorts of story/cutscene videos just to laugh at how bad it's gotten though.
this just horrible story telling bud, its all bs, Sylvanas knew what she was doing, whole another power was controlling her all this time is bs, whole Jailer character is horse shit
@@kyotheman69 It make sense being under control slightly. Sylvanas has Always played a very "anti-hero" role in the game and its always obvious she has some sort of ulterior motive in her pocket. Im glad the her story is at least coming to an end for now. I agree the writing definitely could have gone through a few more rounds of revision before being settled on, but as a whole Sylvanas is a bad bitch and one of the cooler female characters in video games today. Her armor has always been sick, she's always playing diplomatic games and sacrificing other people for her bidding and stays one step ahead of whoever is trying to stop her. She's cool. Arthas def was shitted on. His spirit could have lived on in some metaphysical way or at least have had some actual closure. The jailer just looks like he has been beat up a shit ton and his face didnt stop swelling.
Glad to hear it helped as a catch-up. The lore has gotten a bit convoluted since Shadowlands hit, so doing the best to have it flow in a way that makes sense.
Elune said: "What the heck!" "I will send my favorite children to become fertilizer for my sister." Night Elves: "We use to be so important, but now we are crap for the plants." Writers: Laughing as they say: "Your precious Night Elves are dung."
Still would’ve liked Tyrande to do more with the Night Warrior power. Her restrained rage, dark eyes, attire and glaives were a nice upgrade for her character. Expected more after the great entrance in 8.1.
Is blizzards goal to just like ... Constantly try to find new ways to bring back and butcher illidan and arthas? Is it impossible for them to tell a good story without them?
Yes. It's impossible. Not anybody there with the mental capacity to do better than that. Ahh. and these bozos will be responsible for 10.0. More Shitstorm lore incoming.
As an outsider all I hear wow players whine about is how "wrath of the lich king was best" "wc3 had the best story" and "Arthas was the best villain" in the last few years y'all got both and it was a shitshow. I think there's some truth to it but I think part of it is nostalgia and constantly whining about how it should be what it was when it literally can't causes things like shadowlands and WC reforged. As far as I can tell warcraft has always had lazy story telling in some form or another. WC and wotlk were "good" in large part because they were stories that had already been told. Blizzard tried to have it both ways, give easy fan service and fall onto lazy storytelling as they always have while undoubtedly rushing and cutting content due to the pandemic. And now there's even more people whining about how blizzard shouldn't try new things. I agree, they shouldn't tell radically new stories because that is not their strength. Nor should they just remake wow every other expansion. There's good stories to be told using the wow universe. And you can't criticize that as lazy because it's literally always been that way. You're basically saying that you don't like Warcraft when you complain about the good guys being good guys and the bad guys being bad guys and how the vengeance story is boring and all... Yeah. That's wow... It reminds me very much of Game of thrones. People whine so much about what they want to see that it just makes the problem of already having weak writers with limited originality far worse. Shoehorned and service is hard to avoid when your fans never shut up about how your thing is shit now because it doesn't have fan stuff. Lol
I've honestly been pretty disappointed with this expansion's story. I was so excited when it was announced because I thought the Afterlife was the perfect place to revisit old characters like Kael'Thas and Uther, develop new characters like Calia and Taelia who both have connections to the Lich King and afterlife, let existing characters like Jaina, Thrall, and Anduin react to a completely new setting, contextualize and grant new revelations about old WoW events, and create a brand new bad guy that they could develop from scratch without any baggage from previous wow material. But I feel like besides Uther, most of the old characters just kind of show up with minimal character arcs if any, characters from our world just stand around Oribos doing nothing, and the Jailer is completely bland with seemingly no rhyme or reason as to why he wants to remake the cosmos, and the reveal that every character in Warcraft history was the pawn of a pawn of a pawn of a pawn. As a mediocre wow player at best who has been playing mainly for the roleplaying and storytelling, the new patch and some of the leaks from it made me give up on WoW after thirteen years
Would have liked to see more done with the long-dead characters, as many have just been put on the sidelines for now. Especially with Kael'thas, Alexandros, etc. Which was meant to be one of the more hyped up features. There were some great characters introduced this x-pac like Daddy Denathrius, that hopefully will appear again after being AFK in his sword.
@@Athelarius I'm surprised Tirion didn't show up. Anyway the Jailer COULD have worked if a.) The Nathrezeim weren't his agents and b.) the guy didn't directly cause everything bad (i.e. he saw opportunities and he took it.)
Shadowlands is a wasted opportunity. Usually in mythics and raids, bosses are Jhon does with little to zero character development, but Shadowlands could re use at least some of them. Why not the robot boss with multiple personalities and tragic background from nigthold? Or better, why not more cameos like garithos?, He is probably not part of wow continuity since there is no reference about him, not even from Kael.
@@jorgebellidolavado6382 I would have loved if more smaller lore characters were bosses! Like if in the theatre of pain we fight people like the Blackhand brothers or in Bastion we fight Dathrohan or Gavinrad. I think a major problem lorewise with Shadowlands (among numerous major lore problems) is the fact that it feels too disconnected from Azeroth and the rest of WoW. If we're in the Afterlife, then stuff the game full of cameos of dead characters. Maldraxxas has a decent amount but all the other zones only have like one or two lore characters each. We should have arrived at Bastion to be greeted by trainee Maraad who took us to meet Anduin Lothar who's having conflict with his old friend Uther. We should have gone to Ardenweld and met Cairne Bloodhoof who devoted his life to the Earth Mother and who hangs with his old friend Sen'jin who works as an agent for his loa Bwonsamdi, the two of whom meet up with Thrall in a reunion of the modern Horde founders. We should have arrived in Revendreth and in order to stop Denathrius, brought together souls who embody great sins like Garrosh embodying Wrath, Kael'thas embodying Pride, Onyxia embodying desire, Edwin Van Cleef embodying Dread, Renault Mograine embodying Envy, and smalltime lore character Trade Prince Maldy embodying Avarice (they can't all be winners, but you have to have a goblin for greed!) They didn't all have to fit perfectly into their zone and they didn't all have to have character arcs, but this should have been a non-stop barrage of seeing dead wow characters all culminating in a glorious return of Arthas, who's been trapped and tortured by the jailer for what feels like an eternity, but who is freed by the heroes of Azeroth at the end of the intial content and becomes our ally for the rest of the patches, tortured by a guilty conscience but reconnecting and making amends with those he hurt like Jaina and Uther, while using his deep knowledge and connection to the Jailer to thwart his plans!
There's quite a lot of emotion in this video. its hard to watch Teldrassil burn over and over without getting a bit teary eyed for the tragedy of such innocent lives lost.
It's so painfully obvious that the writing team realized how WotLK was the best expansion, and just wanted to reclaim that glory. Cool cutscenes and armor designs! Also, nice editing!
@@vanxsword2429 really? You didn't like the lore or questlines we got for the Drakkari, Dragon Aspects, Old Gods, Titans, Iron Dwarves, Vrykul, or Undead? Can't please everyone, I guess.
@@Johnhamsta Exactly! It was the big safari! Killing everyone without any sense, lore not respected, all the stories made no sense and respected no logic.
So Sylvanas redeeming arc is basically "take your meds schizo", the meds being Uther showing his Avatar Smurf to convince her to return Hmmm yes great writing
I don;t want to defend the game's story all to much but I feel like his statement is that we may never be able to fix our mistakes or completely come back form it all but its more Important then just doing nothing,
Point of order for thrall not choosing the path of Garrosh. He didn’t give him a choice, Garrosh spoke against himself being warchief, and thrall still did it so yes he is responsible
You know whats so sad though. This Expansion WAS supposed to be "the" expansion that literally brought wow back into that proper realm of respect. They had EVERYTHING they needed to make it perfect, and just went completely lazy with every single aspect of it.
Also expected much more with the whole Shadowlands theme. Had a pretty decent expansion start but then the story just fell flat. On top of that the lengthy 9.2 and delayed 9.2 really stretches things out. Many fallen characters that didn’t make an appearance that I thought would like Varian, etc. a lot of missed potential.
Arthas could appear in the finale and then he becomes our lead in protagonist for the next expansion. Perhaps he’ll have us craft legendary mourneblades while we gather 4986 Shapexis crystals for him.
I may of gone from wow, but I thank you for putting this together so I could see some of the story and keep up on some basic lore while chatting with friends who still play. I miss my dwarf and tauren somedays.
Denathrius also has the handsome squidward face like when he tells Renethal to “Shh and Observe”. Must be the cinematic team’s inspiration this expansion.
i can be ok with this redemption of sylvanas. and frostmorne taking a part of someones soul, and apparently the good part does make alot of sense. would also be cool if we got to see more high elf sylvanas as well.
Blizzard is trying to force down Sylvannas' redemption arc on us, and the method they have chosen is spin wheel "It was an evil copy the whole time!" That is not real redeemption. It's shifting blame. I guess the writers at Blizzard are fans of soap operas or something. Blizzard writters continue to do this kind of thing where characters either don't face the consequences of their actions or have another character do it for them. In the end, Tyrande's Eyeliner was evil, and Sylvanis Blue Skin was evil. Good to know that these people aren't responsible for their actions and can be redeemed into marketable characters fit for merchandising.
@@Destroyer2150 False. It was a plot point in WC3 that Arthas made her a Banshee, and took her free will. (You can argue morality minus free will if you'd like, but I prefer to beat my head against less fatal walls.) They didn't pull any spin with Syl, they're just bad writers. The spin is Uther blaming himself for Arthas, which is as bad writing, if not worse, than Thrall blaming himself for Garrosh. The writers seem to think the Holocaust might just be Poland's fault for not giving Hitler their country on a platter.
We have been text role playing and collectively writing epic storylines way before blizzard was there. You can never really role play without putting your heart and soul into it. Casual or not you play with people's emotions blizzard. Better not disrespect those champions we spend years building to represent our hopes and dreams.
That was very interesting, very informative. I never thought I could ever forgive the Banshee Queen for her crimes and sins ... but perhaps there is yet hope. Heh, didn't think I had it in me to be a good paladin :-) Or even understand what one should be!
acknowledging that Sylvanas's Ideals and Morality were severed from her anger, impulse, hatred, and other failings does not redeem her, it just offers her opportunity to attempt to rectify a single action. The Banshee Queen was always there. all Frostmourne did was kick the Windrunner out of the house. After All, Pre-9.2 Sylvanas still loved her sisters, she still acted as she could within the duties of Ranger General, she invested as many resources as her own sovereign state into restoration of Quel'Thalas despite her former' nations adamant refusal to actually accept it for 5 years.
@@FlynnApollo yes ‘cause uther put him there violating bastion’s law about give any soul a chance of redemption… so if the “path are wrong” there are possibilities that also cursed souls can have another chance, also uther says that arthas soul didn’t had choice of redemption after dead…it’s an hypothesis…in that case 😮
@@Alblanz arthas is literally a part of the Anduin raid battle. (Something) of a fallen king or something. You have to fight the spirit of the kingsmourne to do damage to Anduin, which surprise. It’s Arthas. So Arthas is long gone and just a blade now.
Arthas should appear in the raid finale and nuke the Jailer like Illidan did to Gul’DannyBoi. And then he becomes our Khadgar for the next expansion, having us craft legendary Mourneblades. This needs to be a thing!
Compassion for my poor baby Arthas who semi-willingly became an undead knight. On the other hand, Ranger General Sylvanas, it's all your fault for becoming an undead by falling battle vs him! Atone for your sins!
@@Bersekr21 Arthas burned down an entire Kingdom. Why is his genocide any more redeemable than hers? He had a choice, the entire original point of her plot is that she literally did not. Arthas wasn't even a DK when he murdered every one in Stratholme, and all he did was increase the size of Mal'Ganis' dick.
Wait.... so it Uther can just talk to Sylanas inside her mind, and the ¨good¨ side is apparently unaware of what´s been going on.... then it´d be entirely redundant whether she wakes up or not
@@DaxInvader She's literally learning all about it in that moment and has about a decade worth of memories to catch up to, and the point still remains that if Uther can get into her mind, it's redundant whether she wakes up or not because he can still get the information (unless she refuses, for whatever reason)
@@kou7191 No, not quite. Ranger Syl doesn't and can't know about it. It's the Banshee they need to talk to. Not that Blizz will manage to make plot points connect logically.
Still kind of hoping he makes a superhero landing in the raid ending cinematic and strikes the Jailer, kind of like how Illidan burst out and blew Gul’dan in the 7.1 Nighthold Ending.
This expansion was over-all belove average, but screw off to Thrall being told by his mother that Garrosh wasn't his fault. What happened to Garrosh was 100% because of Thrall and the stuff that happened!
Garrosh being Thrall's "fault" was bad writing, and this line is literally the only sane plot development in the entire expansion. Not that bad writing excuses bad writing. Garrosh being Thrall's 'fault' is Blizzard overreacting to the 'Garrosh did nothing wrong' meme. Writing Uther to feel guilty for Arthas being WoW-Hitler is also similar shit writing. Milking the same lore for 14 years was bad, but it was better than modern Blizz's attempt at...whatever *this* is.
"... became the First Paladin?", like wtf? "History IS really written by the victors". Pepperidge Farm remembers that Uther's mentor, Turalyon was in fact, a Paladin. And not even the leader of the Paladin's, Turalyon was "just" the best. I remember that Uther was just his student, and only came into prominence AFTER Turalyon disappeared. So no, Uther is not The First Paladin. This one is going to The Book, Blizzard.
thank you . I lost my job and income since beginning of pandemic . can't subscribe to wow anymore . but thank you for beautiful presentation of warcraft lore
Bruh why is everyone out to hate on arthas he was really corrupted and used before being tossed aside by the company and the story stop hating on him Jesus he wasn’t that bad
The Adventurers’ motivation for fighting the Jailer is similar to Iron Man’s motivation to fight Thanos after learning that the Mad Titan was responsible for the attack on New York in 2012.
What the hell is this writing from Blizz. Sylvanas waiting for Jailer to become full power just to shoot one little arrow saying "I will never serve", or making players to carry super important Primus sigil directly to Jailers base, or splitting Sylvanas soul into two sides, and trying to make players feel compassion for her because "hey guys she is not evil anymore, she was just not feeling herself all this time u know" AND why the hell Uther now has white wings when all this time he had Black color wings??
Oh man.... the whole Uther revisiting the past and blaming himself for what Arthas had become it just broke my heart into pieces... Idc how you feel about this Expansion but damn the scenes with Uther were hard.
Sad to see Sylvanas portrayed like this our Banshee Queen will always live on! Horde Characters always used to fuel hate for them from the players. Big sad
Sylvanas is saying I will never serve is still the stupidest line ever said in the history of wow . Girl was serving the jailer and being played for so long .

Well, it seems that the trolls are not the most useless bunch, in warcraft lore, anymore XD.
@@megrimlockmesmart.1200 trolls lore are amazing in shadowlands. their god actually protects their soul and their afterlife is the only true myth from azeroth. vol jin actually helped save loa and sacrificed himself to become a demigod. Thrall and Jaina built us bridges to chase Sylvanas bro! It was compelling 😩
On another note, thank you for this edit, adding the pieces from the cinematics and the phrases from Warcraft in the Uther/Arthas interaction made it so much better, well done.
agreed terrible story telling
that warcraft 3 was jailer is freaking retarded, bfa and sl had terrible writing, legion was last decent expansion with pretty good story, blizzard keep hiring morons to write these characters, and guy been writing Sylavanas for so long lost his mind and made her a comic villain total joke.

The cinematics make it look so so amazing
At least it is something new, the dragon flight is so boring, same old story
Fanboys will be fanboys, I doubt most of them know the lore though, especially the tragedy concerning the family gatherings in Arathi.
Blizz, not listening to the fan base? Again?

Spot on
To be honest for a long time now it's felt like the writers of the current plot and storylines don't actually have any idea of what happened before they took the job.

Great recap indeed 👍🏽 now we know where we stand with the night elves and elune.
Elune said: "What the heck!" "I will send my favorite children to become fertilizer for my sister."
Night Elves: "We use to be so important, but now we are crap for the plants."
Writers: Laughing as they say: "Your precious Night Elves are dung."
Well I mean they at least gave Illidan some presence in Legion. In Shadowlands, Arthas is just a soul crystal essence now unfortunately.

Blizzard is trying to force down Sylvannas' redemption arc on us, and the method they have chosen is spin wheel "It was an evil copy the whole time!" That is not real redeemption. It's shifting blame. I guess the writers at Blizzard are fans of soap operas or something.
Blizzard writters continue to do this kind of thing where characters either don't face the consequences of their actions or have another character do it for them.

acknowledging that Sylvanas's Ideals and Morality were severed from her anger, impulse, hatred, and other failings does not redeem her, it just offers her opportunity to attempt to rectify a single action. The Banshee Queen was always there. all Frostmourne did was kick the Windrunner out of the house.

@@Alblanz arthas is literally a part of the Anduin raid battle. (Something) of a fallen king or something. You have to fight the spirit of the kingsmourne to do damage to Anduin, which surprise. It’s Arthas. So Arthas is long gone and just a blade now.
@@FlynnApollo good, he doesn't deserve redemption
Arthas should appear in the raid finale and nuke the Jailer like Illidan did to Gul’DannyBoi. And then he becomes our Khadgar for the next expansion, having us craft legendary Mourneblades. This needs to be a thing!
Compassion for my poor baby Arthas who semi-willingly became an undead knight.
On the other hand, Ranger General Sylvanas, it's all your fault for becoming an undead by falling battle vs him! Atone for your sins!
Blizzard -work- enviroment:
Sexism = STONKS
Think ppl are more mad about her burning down a tree full of innocent people mate
@@filthyshoggoth Did you play the campaign or are you just reciting what you heard lol?
That's a stupid question and you know it.
Ana at the end of the clip, so nice.
Wait.... so it Uther can just talk to Sylanas inside her mind, and the ¨good¨ side is apparently unaware of what´s been going on.... then it´d be entirely redundant whether she wakes up or not
What do you mean "unaware"? didnt you see the video??
What one cannot accept in themselves, remains hidden in the shadow lands.
I wish Arthas will retun in shadowlands Jaina will meet him again💔😢
Still kind of hoping he makes a superhero landing in the raid ending cinematic and strikes the Jailer, kind of like how Illidan burst out and blew Gul’dan in the 7.1 Nighthold Ending.
@@Athelarius do you think illidan retun in shadowlands reunited with tyrande
31:00 Maw walker, aid me!!
Muffled noise: Mhhmm gime me 5min
Excellent !
Eggcellent! The Jailer likes a good omelette.
warcraft without arthas is like spiderman without ..spiderman
That last bit with Sylvannas was totally Twilight 🤣
I never got the idea why the jailer does not simply do everything by himself. Why he needs Anduin? If the Jailer is that powerful...
This expansion was over-all belove average, but screw off to Thrall being told by his mother that Garrosh wasn't his fault. What happened to Garrosh was 100% because of Thrall and the stuff that happened!
Thrall: “I didn’t mean to bake Garrosh with a lightning bolt.”
Draka: “it’s okie, as long as you didn’t mean it. Time for cookies and juice!”
Garosh wasn't Thrall's Fault. Garrosh made his own decisions. Thrall's only mistake was making that retard warchief.
Thrall didn't make garrosh at all. Garrosh did it to himself.
You can have everything you desire!
# OMINOUS ORCHESTRAL MUSIC
"... became the First Paladin?", like wtf? "History IS really written by the victors".
Pepperidge Farm remembers that Uther's mentor, Turalyon was in fact, a Paladin. And not even the leader of the Paladin's, Turalyon was "just" the best. I remember that Uther was just his student, and only came into prominence AFTER Turalyon disappeared.
So no, Uther is not The First Paladin. This one is going to The Book, Blizzard.
Man, why everything that hasa lot of good production value gets mudded by the filthy writer team everytime?
Earl Boen, the voice of king Terenas, passed away at 81 years this January 5 a shame
10:10 - dude, I would have said: then make your choice, Arthas.
So did anduin get bathroom breaks or is that armor beyond saving
Happy new year
For someone who didn't played since WOTLK, this is such a WTF moment.
Sooo long, but it's still alive.
Thank you. I could not subject myself to the game, but Im interested in the lore still.
Imagine trying to kill undead by strangling them. Tyrande what are you doing.
The Jailer abilities of the Jailer in Final Fantasy 14 look a lot better. (Pandaemonium Raid)
thank you . I lost my job and income since beginning of pandemic . can't subscribe to wow anymore . but thank you for beautiful presentation of warcraft lore
Ya know, I can understand why people hate Sylvanis, what with the crappy writing and all. I for one simply adore her voice acting. Its simply perfect.
Have you heard of the Jailer's Ultimate Plan? It is a good plan, a great plan, he made up the plan, its HIS plan!
@@Athelarius 🤣🤣🤣
Marvel copied Blizzard. 9_9
If any of you get the chance to read the book of Arthas, i highly recommend it.
May I know the name of the book?
Hum, I'm kinda afraid if they if decide that Sylvanas end will be she searching for Nathanos in the Shadowlands.
Nathanos still waiting for Sylvanas after Tyrande’s head slice. Probably going to be the new headless Horseman in the next patch.
Maw walker aid me ! Ur asking a dead body to fight
"A little hard to do on the ground"
"Noted."
What the hell is this writing from Blizz. Sylvanas waiting for Jailer to become full power just to shoot one little arrow saying "I will never serve", or making players to carry super important Primus sigil directly to Jailers base, or splitting Sylvanas soul into two sides, and trying to make players feel compassion for her because "hey guys she is not evil anymore, she was just not feeling herself all this time u know" AND why the hell Uther now has white wings when all this time he had Black color wings??
the soul splitting was not something they added in shadowlands it was already something in wc3
58:29
Her crimes...are unforgiveable.
-Yes.
Oh man.... the whole Uther revisiting the past and blaming himself for what Arthas had become it just broke my heart into pieces... Idc how you feel about this Expansion but damn the scenes with Uther were hard.
Let's hope the "new management" from microsoft cleans house and actually hires people who care about the game
Hahaha good one
If only Sylvanas and Tyrande was real :) Omg what has this game done to me :p
Sad to see Sylvanas portrayed like this our Banshee Queen will always live on! Horde Characters always used to fuel hate for them from the players. Big sad
Sylvanas is saying I will never serve is still the stupidest line ever said in the history of wow . Girl was serving the jailer and being played for so long .
I'm still pissed about Undercity. How many Forsaken lived there when it was Lordaeron?
I believe most of them moved from Lordaeron to Orgrimmar now in BFA.
@@Athelarius Yeah, they did, but I have Opinions on the subject.
