My favorite part in the episode is the Greek dancing they look like they all had fun filming and acting and getting paid to act. But I think they are all priceless, I love them all.
What a great episode! I love how, despite all of their squabbles, the department are genuinely sad for Mrs Slocombe when she is stood up and try to make her feel better 😊❤️
One of the better if not best episode of their entire run! Ms. Slocombe more than proved her stamina with the Greek dance. Even for comedy it still had its heartfelt moments and showed how much they all cared for her and were the family she didn't have anymore.
This is one of the best episodes they made! The Texan uncle is such a stereotype, and the way Mrs Slocum laughs when she sees Mr Humphries at the altar is totally contagious! The wedding dance is the cherry on top for me!
I still laugh my ass off at the ceremony! He seasoned them well! Salt and pepper shakers and perfume! I love the (needle stuck in the groove of the record) in the wedding March and how they got stuck walking down the isle to it. It's that simple humor that is the BEST 😂 Real humor never gets old. That was our favorite part when my dad and I would watch. When I was really little we used to make little bets with each other on what color her hair would be in the episode we were about to watch.
It was only her real hair for a few episodes, but the constant coloring was too much, so they opted for Wigs to make it easier on her and give her more vibrant & varied looks.
In spite of all their past animosity, I love how Captain Peacock stepped up for Mrs. Slocum to help her with securing stuff for the wedding, and breaking the news to her later on.
It is the common element in all successful British sitcoms: together as enemies, but friends against a common enemy. Look at how dads army had so much in- fighting, but how they all came together when it mattered most. Steptoe and son, only fools and horses, the likely lads, the liver birds, etc. The ones that were never that successful were the ones without the in- fighting and a common enemy. 'To the manor born' and 'as time goes by' are two examples that come to mind.

I never tire of these AYBS shows; watch them every couple of years and it's always a hoot. Half the time this bunch are getting into wacky costumes, which is fun.
