just the theme song tells you all you need to know. Expecting the same success as the original just by going all in on the most popular character. it's so misguided it's embarassing
What did Mr. Humphries go to Australia for? Plane crash, ship sink, must be some odd story for him to go there. Bone Bros. for crying out loud. Dear sexy knickers and all the other episodes were done way better in the British version. I'm surprised John Inman agreed to it!
Loving these episodes, thanks for posting! The character name changes are a bit odd. The acting is decent overall, though it would be impossible to replace the UK original actors. While, IMHO, the UK version is more organically funny, the AUS version one-ups the joke starting at 11:23 better with Mr Humphries' reaction.
It's funny that they call the store Bones Brothers , maybe because there is a real department store called Grace Brothers in Australia or there was when I was last there over 30 years ago 😂😂
If by "Yanks" you mean the Americans, let me tell you that they did. It's called "Beane's of Boston", made by David Croft, who worked on Are You Being Served. The only episode was the pilot, as it never became a full series.
Why did they bother remaking it? The sets are virtually the same, the characters are virtually the same, the stories are pretty much the same, and both versions have perfectly understandable English that can be understood in both countries.
If what I read was true, there were copyright issues with showing the original show in Australia, so they just made a "copy" and aired it until the original show could be aired. After that, this show was left to the dustbin of history.
what was the point of making a fuss about changing if she didn't have anything to put ON? The basic script is still here, but so many dumb changes. and some mediocre acting
Nice attempt at making an Australian version of the show, but only Mr. Humpries was any good at his roll. Still it was better then the American attempt with the unpicked up pilot The Beane's of Boston, total garbage and understandable why it was never picked up. The actors were good, but the delivery of their rolls just did not work as well as the original British show.
I never knew this show existed. An Australian version? Wow! 😮
No one can replace Mr. Humphries! Hes one of a kind! This is great i never knew about rhis version! Thank you 😊
The British version of this show was brilliant.
It's like I fell into a parallel universe. I like it though.
Didn’t know that this series existed…..!!
June Bronhill is amazing. ❤️
What a voice.

This might have worked better if they had different scripts, but to me if just is painful.
If it?
Thank you posting!
It's horrible in Australian.
Actually, it's in English.
But sent off to felonious, venomous island life. In this case certainly not “Australian”, as told by the comprehensible and formalised language.
they changed a few things but basically the same as the UK episode
😂😂😂😂 Love the series
2:45. "I had to get my wife off"!😂
love thiese series.
OMG this is the funniest episode.🤣🥰
That's a bit of a stretch.
Joanna Lumley was the His & Hers girl in the UK version.
That was her first tv appearance if I'm not mistaken
@@darraghgregory1269 It was yes.. she would return as the "German Wife" in the episode "German Week" in the 3rd season..
@@KNPrince yes I was thinking 🤔 that

Odd Man Out was better than this.
Loving these episodes, thanks for posting!

And I'll admit, the change in the ending was a nice twist and I think the new ending works better than the original.
This was the original. The UK version was a copy.
@@fjccommish Are you feeling alright? Delusions kicking in? Conservative brain is a disease.
The his and hers story went out in the uk in the 1970’s
It's funny that they call the store Bones Brothers , maybe because there is a real department store called Grace Brothers in Australia or there was when I was last there over 30 years ago 😂😂
According to what I've read, that's exactly why they changed the name to Bone Brothers.
John Inman the only one that is original ftom are you being served
Were both Mr. Bone and Mr. Grace 'majority shareholders' in his & hers???
I'm guessing 50/50...
I prefer the other one and they only have Mr Humphrey and they all got different names
Abigail Rogan is absolutely breathtaking!
this was great!
Oh that’s Abigail
This is quite good
They gave this episode the Disney treatment at the end. 😅
Ive never seen with these caricturs before
John Inman. Must have done this purely for the money. It obviously wasn't for the laughs
Love to watch it is very good h
Why did they bother ? Worst than if the Yanks did it.😪😪😪😪

You are right, We screwed up Beans of Boston.
Jolly good try....similar but not quite the charm & comic quality of the UK version! Can't duplicate perfection of the original UK show!
This just isn’t as funny as the original
It’s weird they rushed through the script so fast
Original UK version was funnier actors were much much better. Cant think of any other actors than the originals❤
Completely lacks all the charm of the original

Why is the British version of this episode not on YT anymore??
BTW, Joanna Lumley did it better.
I expect it was taken down for copyright issues. These episodes are allowed to be up because no one really cares about the copyright.

Awful
This show is so very British. It doesn’t work in Australia. It is so AWFUL.
I disagree some what. John Inman and June Bronhill made it better then what it could have been.
Sorry but the original was the best. This cast just don't have the same cohesion.
Julian Assange should have played Mr Humphries in the Australian version.
This is horrible.
Beyond cringey.
this hurt to watch, the acting was abysmal. much prefer the original, their chemistry was more natural, this felt forced and very fake.

I wonder if John Inman accidentally called any of the cast members by the wrong names
