Amazing Zina - I liked her so much, along with Lori McNeil. Steffi showed what a champion she was when she was down in the second set. Great tennis!

Zina Garrison is the most under rated player. Her serve, volley and anticipation of the moves is excellent.

I am not sure that Steffi was sacred of Zina and Lori but Steffi probably had a healthy respect for their talent and althetic abilities

Zina and Lori were amazing athletes so good at volleying and scared Steffi (and beat her at Wimbledon)

It was Steffi´s 2nd event after the Wimbledon defeat. She had won Toronto the week before San Diego (against Katerina Maleeva) and she won San Diego as well beating Maleeva-Fragniere, Katerina Maleeva´s sister.
