      I’ve as I said earlier BEEN OUT AT NIGHT ALONE GOING UP FAR INTO THE SIERRA NEVADAS , It was fine till I had three days up near an alpine lake of Bigfoot stuff , Rock clacks to heavy no doubt footfalls and impressions that are just the size because it’s hard soil , Alone in your tent miles from anyone is a lot different than you suspect, Usually around 3:00 a.m. or a bit after shi.. happened , You try and take one out and I emphasize try and you probably can’t and there’s others around for sure , Other stuff too out there , I never would of believed it until it’s your reality , As a kid living a lot of the time in the Sierras we found evidence , I am surprised many have doubts ? A federal forest service head honcho came out stating he’s seen his shard and why the old regime denied or blamed a lot on bears or cougars , Check out Missing 411 by David Paulette’s ! He’s been in a few different capacities in law to other ventures and dedicated a lot to bringing visibility to their out there to the missing the Parks keep a lot from us knowing . $$ is the main culprit , The parks generate more than most would believe . The Appalachian areas this guy speaks of has some evil people out there to feral living back in groups . Prison for life or make it out in the remote area and spy on to kill and attack those vulnerable . Do the math and you’ll find out .

      Raised in the mountains of East Tennessee. Never, ever had any reason to be afraid of the woods. I’ve seen bears, coyotes, dog packs, herds of pigs, caught poisonous and non poisonous snakes, watched all the critters, including humans. I’ve been lost, walked up on a working shine still and was ordered to leave, camped, hunted, fished and swam in the creeks. The mountains hold me, almost cradle me, provide food, drink, shelter and beautiful entertainment. Just go…quietly, with eyes open, ears alert, peaceful and calmly enjoying what’s before you. Deal with it…

    This would be a lot more fun with night vision, not only are you invisible to your environment, but you could see even further, depending on your weather condition. And if you wanna be real tacticool, add a peltor headset with your night vision, you will hear everything, and see (almost) everything. It's an awesome (very expensive!) experience.

    • @trailtrekkertv
      @trailtrekkertv  6 місяців тому +11

      @leonardor659 Definitely bring something powerful enough to defender yourself against large predators (a firearm and bear-spray that is easily accessible). I’ve not used night vision but sounds like a cool option. A bright headlamp and handheld flashlight is my usual go to. Lastly, be sure to tell family or friends when/where you’re going and what time they can expect you back. Be safe and have fun 👍

    • @clownoftheredrose7592
      @clownoftheredrose7592 6 місяців тому

      @@leonardor659 I run an Elbit Gen3 Thin Filmed Green Phosphor PVS-14 (monocular.) Monocular night vision has its advantages and disadvantages.
      Advantages of a PVS-14: It is easier to see with your uncovered eye if there is a light behind you making you visible. You will have one eye that can adjust to the darkness while the other can see in the dark. If you have a bridge system where you can put a thermal imaging monocular you can bridge a PVS-14 and a FLIR together. It is much cheaper to buy a monocular than a binocular night vision unit.
      Disadvantages of a PVS-14: Your depth perception is not as good as if you had a PVS-31 (Binocular.)
      Advantages of Binocular night vision: Binocular night vision allows you to have more depth perception than a monocular.
      Disadvantages: Binocular night vision can cost two to four times more than a monocular unit and be a little bit heavier than a monocular.
      This is for analog units. If you are going to use digital, I would suggest monocular because digital NVGs have a framerate of around 30fps, which would give you half the reaction time if you were running towards a tree and needed to stop.
      Analog binocular night vision units are way more pricey, but if you can afford a gen3 binocular NVG unit (I recommend Gen3 L3 Unfilmed White Phosphor despite it making the price MUCH HIGHER), I would suggest you get it. Green Phosphor does the same job but puts more strain on your eyes, but if you need "budget night vision," go for an analog green phosphor PVS-14. Generations of night vision matter, Gen3 is the BEST generation to get (currently). If there are a lot of trees and it isn't a full moon out, I would also suggest you get an IR light, unless you're hiding from someone who is using night vision, then an IR light would help assist you if the night is unforgivable in its conditions.
      There are many other factors that can go into your kit, weight, gear, how many batteries you want to carry, NVG lasers, etc. It's up to you how you want to gear up for the night. One thing I would strongly suggest to look at is weight and necessity of your equipment. IR lasers are a big help, but are very expensive unless you get a Chinese knockoff (which you'd have to upgrade the internals of to make it stand recoil.)
      If you have more questions, let me know.

    I lived in Pa as a kid in the back country, trees and mountains for miles. Went on a 3 day hiking trip by myself. This would've been the early 90s. The second night I was miles from my place. Not a soul or road for miles in every direction. I just kept getting this odd feeling. The type of feeling you get as a kid when u have to go to the basement with the light off and you scurry back as quick as you can. It was an ominous feeling that wouldnt go away, like I wasn't the predator out there (I only had a .22 so I probably wasn't) I stayed up all night by my fire. About 3 in the morning I swear I saw this big wolfs head peering at me from behind a tree. I could see my fire flickering back in his eyes. Once I comprehended what I was looking at the head darted behind the tree to where I couldn't see it. What was weird was that where the head was at was probably 7 foot off the ground, and the snout was a bit shorter. I know what a bear looks like and this wasn't it. It didn't sound like a bear either. I didn't see it for the rest of the night but I could hear it walking circles around where I set up my camp. It was walking far enough back to wear I couldn't get a glimpse of it. The sound of the walking was like a person. It was the sound of two feet and not four. This went on until the break of daylight and then it quit. I hightailed it back to my house and never walked the woods at night since. I still can't explain what it was. I would've thought Bigfoot or a person stalking me if it wasn't for my getting a glimpse of the head on that thing. There were a bunch of leaves on the ground so I wouldn't have been able to track it. I never went back anyway. Still gives me goosebumps thinking about it.

      @@lil_shrimp6404 the Navajo reservation, many Navajos or residents have so many crazy story’s and I use to live there 2018-2020 and I experienced so much that it made me believe in it I would hear stuff on the roof, stuff running around my house, my dogs barking, shadows and foot prints outside my house just so much was going on. We had this one ceremonial dance called a yeh beh cheii and it’s where they dress as one of them sort of but it’s holy people that do good and dance, and the event had ended and there was no more dances and a kid came running inside saying he had seen one again and that we had lied to him that all of them had left but they did. That scared me because the previous nights as well we would see a shadow near the outhouse. Anyways many people mistaken them as other beings or creatures but in reality it’s just people that like witch craft many of them are taken a different form by sacrificing a life and making a gateway to the other side like animals etc. they go to caves because there are usually arch’s and holes there that can be transformed into portals to gain powers from another side. Many people say that even in normal human form they can hurt you they have little invisible circles on their hand sometimes and when you shake their hand or they touch you can cause you harm. I've done quite a bit of trail running at night. You get over the darkness pretty fast, at least if you're familiar with the trails you're on. In unfamiliar territory it might be a little spookier

    Walked in the woods all the time when I was with the 82nd Airborne Div. We hardly ever did anything during the day.
