For me, I would be a freighter captain piloting a Gozanti-class cruiser with mostly a droid crew. At the price of 200,000 credits (and cheaper if used), it's not out of the possibility to get one, not to mention the Gozanti is one of the most common ships in the space lines. Seeing new planets in the Outer Rim while bringing supplies and goods to those on the frontier. A pretty good life to live.
Not to squash your hopes but I assure you that the overhead would probably match or surpass the cost of the ship. Fuel, permits, licensing, supplies, the droids, ect.... Heck even used droids pretty much start at like 2k+ for essentially pieces of junk. You would probably need at minimum 400k to even start up and realistically an extra 200k to ensure you could make it long enough to collect your first paycheck from a customer.
Don’t worry, you didn’t squash my hopes at all, I would make it work that I can assure you. Only those of weak wills would give up at the sight of speed bumps when on the path to their aspirations.
@@Retaferyr yeah, just as any start up business, the main equipment, which in this case is the ship, is only part of the cost. But of course the ship costing 200k instead of 400k, saves you 200k in start up costs. Honestly this cost, comparatively, seems about the same as a new truck driver buying himself a new semi truck, but of course there’s extra costs for plates, insurance, permits, etc…
Preffered proffesion would probably be Bounty Hunter/High Value Transporter basically being the armoured truck of the SWU for high value cargo. A high speed heavily armed transport would cover both proffesions so when you can't find any worth while bounties you move a crate of something like Kryatt Dragon Pearl's from one system to another while providing security for the shipment, then you can either pick up another shipment or a bounty at the destination or at a near by system
I'll be looking forward to hearing the story of Space Commander John Randolph, Galactic Thug, which ends with him getting brought in dead by a bounty hunter and his ship being passed on to his son, Space Commander John Randolph II, Galactic Shopper, which ends with him getting deceived by his father's old gang and becomes the fall guy for a crime he had no involvement in, leaving the same ship to his son, Space Commander John Randolph III, Galactic Charter, who eschews civil contact and dedicates his life to exploring the Unknown Regions until his own tragic death when he hyper-jumps into a sun because he was distracted while looking for a new podcast to turn on.
I would love to be a starship, droid or cybernetic engineer in Star Wars. A freelancer who sells their schematics to the highest bidder could live a very comfortable life. Personally, given the choice I think working as security for a small farming community like the one Dinn hides out in with Cara Dune during season 1, would be a nice life. Sure, you’d spend more time being a farmer and/or handyman than actually chasing off raiders and such, but that’s how everyone would want it, and why the community would help support hiring someone for security as well (the pay would mostly cover equipment and the position would come with an understanding that I’d do regularly community stuff, but sometimes I’d need to worry about setting up and securing the safety of the village and surrounding forests or whatever. The sheriff in ep1 of season 2 would be a fairly distant second, as that would be full time security, so not nearly as comfortable and happy a life, but with appropriate pay I’m sure we could come to an agreement, that is at least until I found some isolated village like discussed above, as that would be a sweet life, especially if you had a Starfighter stashed away for trips to more populated areas if the need, or mood, struck you.

Dude this channel is seriously impressive. You have a solid, educated grasp of the real world, and it shows, and that knowledge informs the systems of our fictional worlds too. Everything has to have a system. I feel like you would make a good writer and would nail the world building aspect.
Given the overall economic similarities between AGFFA and Earth, I'm going to assume most people would have a remarkably similar lot in life to what they have now. For me that equates to corporate or government IT security.
If I had to pick a job on that list, I'd go for farming. Go from small scale farming to eventually work my way to larger scale. Not very large scale. Maybe just large enough that I have droids doing a lot of work, scientists making sure optimal growing conditions for the crops, and have hired guards/mercenaries to protect the goods.
People that say they would be a Jedi or a Sith seem to forget that most organic organisms are not force sensitive because you need a certain midaclorine count. Which means majority of the galaxy was not force sensitive so the chances of being force sensitive is extremely low.
One interesting job idea I was thinking about would be a privateer starfighter pilot for hire. Usually mercenaries and bounty hunters are depicted mostly as soldiers that fight on the ground, or operating in a covert role. I would imagine being a starfighter pilot for hire could be good business, especially for small planetary governments, shipping operations or revolutionaries that needs starfighters but cannot afford a permanent squadron. A preferred ship would be a decent starfighter that has a hyperdrive to get to clients, is durable, can take on both small and larger targets, and has common spare parts. A Z95 with hyperdrive retrofit and added missile hardpoints would be my choice. Maybe even an old ARC-170 if you can find a weapon systems officer for the second seat and remove the tail gunner to save some weight. I would probably operate out of a dry rocky desert planet in the outer rim because hangars are expensive and the less rain the longer starfighters would probably last sitting outside due to less corrosion.
Oh cool, I want to be a gunner on a starship. Because manually aiming, firing and reloading a massive ship-to-ship turboloader out of an open window on a starship like it was an age of sail brig only makes perfect sense.
I'd honestly probably try to buy a small ship and just become a scavenger. With so many destroyed ships and left behind equipment. There's 100% money to be made
If I have some credits, I would love to start my own "radio" station in the outer rim, even if just as a hobby. With the range of probably just the nearby system, I would love to provide music to cut through the emptiness of space for visiting freighters and residents of the planets. Maybe if it gets big enough local companies will even advertise through the station, which makes it a good source of income too.
At this point this still seems like a better gig than here on earth. At least there’s still places to go where nobody else is. That’s the problem with earth now. Everywhere has been claimed and anywhere they can’t is not feasible for human survival
Agreed, literally every sliver of good land is claimed by nations and factions, the only parts of earth that remain unclaimed are the bad ones... And nobody wants the expired scraps of lunch time now do we?
It's a shame. Besides the very few "untouched" places on Earth, you can really only "explore" where someone else has been at this point. "Too late to explore the world. Too early to explore the galaxy." Just in time to dream about doing either over the internet. lol
Kinda depends how well you'd be at keeping what you have, & how willing you're to maim & kill those who stand in your way. the thing with truly unexplored frontiers with abundance of opportunities also means a myriad of ways to get yourself killed simply by being around. being adventurous in such places are surefire ways of living a short life unless you have ungodly amount of luck, while playing it safe would only be as boring as playing it safe goes, & given that such frontiers are inherently NOT safe, playing it safe ain't actually all that safe to begin with.
I would go out of my way to find some action in the star wars universe, join a faction as a soldier, pilot, or mechanic. That or I could always make my way to Tatooine and try to work for the hutts. If that doesn’t work then I would try to join a crew. JUST SOMETHING EXCITING
I would probably be doing what I do in life now. Working private security in some form, but more on the tech side of the industry. Probably on Coruscant or a similar planet. Though I'd dream of being a pilot.
I wouldn't be able to handle "normal" in a galaxy like Star Wars, I barely handle normal in reality. I drive my motorcycle with no helmet at top speeds, I get into fights, I help people free of charge, and I find myself changing residences every couple of years. I'm ex military, I fix my own cars, and dream I of flying. I would make my way out into space but I wouldn't be able to settle as a shiphand. I despise megacorporations. I can't fight for a cause I don't believe in. I'd find my way as a bounty hunter/mercenary/outlaw spacepirate because I'd no doubt piss off the wrong people.
I always imagined I'd be a head chef on space station or something. Of course, ive always wanted to have my own podcast. Imagine having a podcast that is watched or listened to throughout the whole galaxy!?
Allen In Star Wars' era, I would have been a technician at one of those worlds. Here, on Earth, I am an electronics technician right now working Biomedical Device company. This company manufactured Hyperbaric Chambers or official's name: Pressurized Hyperbaric Vessel (PHV). These chambers or vessels are used mainly for medical purposes. Hospitals and clinics around the world have these chambers. In Star Wars, Bacta is similar to chamber's pure oxygen pressurized help healing processes. There are studies on these chambers can help in healing of certain ailments and diseases. Maybe, in Star Wars' universe, they may have these chambers or vessels.

Muy simple, han salvado las galaxias tantas veces que algún que otro negocio o subsidio tendrán, junto con muchos ahorros de sus épocas más "liberales"
I would start a revolution in the Star Wars galaxy, a revolution called Rock & Roll. With my brand new style of music that will sweep through the Outer Rim like wildfire, entire planets would show up to our live concerts. So far we've only seen music in Star Wars treated as background noise for cantinas, so it feels like they're stuck in the 1930s when it comes to how they view and interact with music. It's ripe for someone to take it to the next stage, figuratively and literally, and make music the centerpiece of art and culture in the galaxy, as it should be. No more generic Bith Cantina Song #3, it's time for the galaxy's first heavy metal punk rock band, Star Destroyer, to start a music revolution.
i think if i lived in the star wars universe i would become a storm trooper. there aren’t all that many options and getting a job in the corps can bring you some decent pay and some good opportunities
I'd save up for the Star Wars space ship equivalent of a 1978 Oldsmobile Delta 88. A classic tank of a car with a ridiculously reliable engine with plenty of power to get around.
Everyone is talking about flying.. and ships.. well I'm scared shitless from flying so.. I'd just be some ole factory worker, trying to make my way in the galaxy
If I couldn’t be a Jedi/Sith, I’d prefer to be a Mandalorian and/or a bounty hunter, or maybe a scout for new planets and hyperspace routes. If I die, I die
Clearly transport, or even better, a smuggler. I would prefer risking my life transporting stuff and traveling across remote areas of the galaxy searching artifacts-weapons rather than sitting in an office all day as politician.
For me it would depend on whether I had force abilities or not. As a non-force user, I would be an executive accountant for Czerka Corporation (arms manufacturer) because they were pretty much "independent" because they dealt with both the Old Republic, the Empire, and the New Republic. So I'd have the wages for a nice life style and make certain my living quarters were not in a world that was in dispute. If I had force abilities, I would hide that fact from both the Jedi (in effort to keep my kids safe from being "kidnapped" into their army", or the later Empire, not wanting to be an Inquisitor and be forced to be under Palpatine. I'd find a nice out of the way planet like Manaan and fly "under the radar" to keep my force abilities from becoming known. I'd only use them for personal reasons and to keep my family and myself safe.
I already design industrial facilities for agriculture! Most likely Id be doing exactly what im doing right now, just in some mid-rim planet. If im lucky, I'd be doing work for several planets in the system and could get the chance to go off-world every now and then! I also have a background in aviation, so if I was in the star wars universe I would probably have leaned heavier into a career as a pilot of some sort!
Its too bad. Obi Wan sure convinced me, when I was little, that anyone could learn how to be a Jedi and that you just needed a teacher. Now you have to have special blood...
Body guard, captain , smuggler , weapons dealer if you time it right you can even get a bunch of Lazer swords from dead space wizards those sell for nice premiums !
As a former New Republic slicer living on Hosnian Prime, I can tell you that my life was boring. Until I saw a red light in the sky, and BOOOMM! Now my life wasn't boring again, cuz my life is no more.
A job in the government as a soldier or officer as a reserve unit or be posted on a core planet to avoid dying 24/7 or an outer rim planet when from the officer position I could esensally be the planets governor and enjoy an upper class life style unlike being posted on a core world where there is less chance of musseling though to a governor status.
As a number of people say in the comments section, if Star Wars was real, most people on Earth would normally have the job they do now, only for Star Wars. In that case, I'd be working for the Navy; but not as a TIE Pilot, I'd be getting the officers their food and their coffee.

It wasn't open... there was a shield there to protect you from space.
I'd honestly probably try to buy a small ship and just become a scavenger. With so many destroyed ships and left behind equipment. There's 100% money to be made
Can you do a video on the various scientific jobs in the star wars universe?
So basically, what you're currently doing in the real world is pretty much what you are likely to do if you existed in a Star Wars Universe.
I would like to be a Mandalorian. Realistically I'd probably be some random moist farmers kid who died due to too many deathsticks lol.
I’ve been getting into star wars as of late and designing an oc or two. This helped a lot and I just wanted to thank you!
I'd end up as either imperial special forces or a bounty hunter. if I die at least I'd die in combat hopefully.
Hey Generation Tech are you guys still doing the Galactic Republic vs Earth project, or did you cancel that project?
I’m definitely signing up to join the empire and see the galaxy.
I would be an ewok chef, serving the best cooked ewok in the galaxy.
“Probably beat the dark side into Darth Bane” I died laughing hahahaha
I just want a different job! One that they don't inject stuff into my brain!
Fives! Stay with me Fives! Fives!!!
@Idontknowmynamelol 17 oh yeah…sorry…
The problem with the empire is that it weakened the economy by strengthening the military.

In Star Wars' era, I would have been a technician at one of those worlds.
Can you please do a vid on the The chiss ascendency as talked about in the new cannon thrawn ascendency books.I listen to em on audible and the voice acting is top notch
Working in a GONK Droid factory.
I woul love to be a historian or Archeologist
I would also love to do this. Even if isn't my favorite job option in the star wars Galaxy.
Honestly, I would probably just be a factory worker. Relatively safe.
Jedi Exploration and Agri Corps, also Baby snatching and Nurturing!
Pouring drinks, it’s my lot in life
I would love to see how the Jedi made enough money to be able to have a big temple, lots of ships, and employees to work in the Jedi temple?
Muy simple, han salvado las galaxias tantas veces que algún que otro negocio o subsidio tendrán, junto con muchos ahorros de sus épocas más "liberales"
Most people's jobs would be exactly what they're doing right now.
I just realized there must be spaceships transporting human feces from Coruscant to agricultural planets. 😬
You guys should do a review of all the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser information so far
Asteroid mining. I just love the idea.
i think if i lived in the star wars universe i would become a storm trooper. there aren’t all that many options and getting a job in the corps can bring you some decent pay and some good opportunities
If I were to translate my real life into SW I would be a design student with dreams of becoming a starship, droid or speeder designer.
Nice if I were to do something similar I would be a xeno veterinary student with dreams of owning a practice on some decent planet like naboo
The comments on the child soldier video from GENERATION FILMS have been disabled.
I’d be a musician in a cantina band wearing a fake alien costume head to get more cloud - humans don’t have that uniqueness factor
I now realise why parents willingly gave their children to the jedi
I'd love to be an engineer if I couldn't be force sensitive, working on all those massive ships would be pretty cool
This channel is always interesting. BTW I'd be a Mandalorian medic.
Nice! I think I'd be a Mandalorian farmer, staying with my house to help keep things running.
Navigator on a spice freighter, of course...
Babe wake up Allen posted a new generation tech video
Liked this video, but missed opportunity to use Fry saying, Alright, I'm a delivery boy!
I’d prefer to work as a bounty Hunter or for a crime boss like Jabba or Maul.
Its too bad. Obi Wan sure convinced me, when I was little, that anyone could learn how to be a Jedi and that you just needed a teacher. Now you have to have special blood...
I'd love to be a force sensitive bounty hunter if I had the choice
When am I ever gonna be able to say woo hoo! in a marketing office? 😆
I'd join up with the Pyke Syndicate as a smuggler or bounty hunter to be honest, unlike the Hutts the Pykes hire good price.
Noble professions.
Body guard, captain , smuggler , weapons dealer if you time it right you can even get a bunch of Lazer swords from dead space wizards those sell for nice premiums !
Majority of people in the comment section would not be bounty hunters, mercenaries, or mandolorians because they do not have the training,
As a former New Republic slicer living on Hosnian Prime, I can tell you that my life was boring.
Bruh I’d wanna be a clone
As a number of people say in the comments section, if Star Wars was real, most people on Earth would normally have the job they do now, only for Star Wars. In that case, I'd be working for the Navy; but not as a TIE Pilot, I'd be getting the officers their food and their coffee.
I would like to join the galactic empire
Thank you. 👍
Hello there friends welcome back to another episode of Generation Tech my name is Allen
I can’t believe y’all are still going inspiration
