Thanks Nick I now know how to start my corners when I make my tractor shed! Oh by the way I'm 77 so that will be handy (ps i'm not being funny I didn't know how to do it before). Your a real treasure informing us how to make stuff easy😊.
I would call her Miss Batabosch, I would put a blanket on if she was mine hahaha Is she your best birthday prezzie ever ? And are you allowed to put in a foundation like that on a pallet cabin ?
Can always count on Nick to 'get 'er done'!! 👏👏👏How about 'Dora' for the excavator? In Portuguese it's called : ESCAVADORA 😅 Nick: that was a funny ending! lol
Nick that is hilarious. Today the guys cut a huge telephone pole that was on my property which I had them cut at 9 feet high to keep as the end of my fence. I kept it 9 feet to pain as a totem...LOL LIKE MINDS lol
I love it to see you are using the excavator so frequent. Because you had to dig by hand all the things you already did with it. The shed became very nice.
I don't have a name for the Kubota but the shelter definitely has to be totem shelter. If you clip the totem with the Kubota you may have to shelter from the totem! 🤣
Thanks for another great video! I love the idea of carving a totem for Muriel's Shed (um, "Muriel's House"? "Muriel's Place"? ... how do you say "Muriel's House" in Portuguese? - that would be nice). Such a marvelous gift deserves splendid accomodations! Lovely of Nick to make sure she was safely tucked in for the night ♥️♥️♥️
I have to say the totem is incredible. I think it should have arrow signs to all the destinations you can travel for great beer, great pasties or how far away visitors ventured to see you. I think the digger should be called “Sir Cornwall”
Can't believe you covered a whole bricklaying apprenticeship in one video 😂. My dads was a bricklayer and I'm a sparks so we had plenty of back and forth as to the superior trade. Great video thankyou
Oh gosh you two cracking me up at the end😂 But seriously what a huge accomplishment in quick time❤ I really enjoyed the brick laying component especially when Nick explained the corners and how to properly set the second layer so they are covering first layer properly, because he always makes it so easy, and a 61 year old lady thinks she can do this too😊. The huge post had me concerned for one second, because I know you both think out each step to perfection and are so skilled. I loved when Andrea jumped on the tractor and easily moved it, you two are such an amazing team❤❤ So wonderful to see the "Heavy Metal Mistress" tucked into bed😂 What a great video! Congratulations on such great fast work🎉
Outstanding video , the two of you stay so busy . That’s a well thought out plan for your purpose that went together so quickly . Will you also capture the rain water from the roof as well ? Yes please carve out faces for the pole will give comfort to Muriel for certain , loved the ending . Good to see Andrea driving the digger , she did bring you a cup of tea and lunch . Now back to the water works in progress . Take care and many blessings 💕
Wow how you explained about the blocks cool When you said a post 😂🤣😂🤣 it’s a whole tree 😂🤣 Angela driving the digger wow Next you will be having your wife make a blanket for Muriel 😁 ❤😁
Amazing❣ Very much liked this. Again, it flew by. Had my lunch but didn't finish washing up the dishes before you were done 😯. Lovely shelter for Dolly the Digger?... Kiki Kubota?... Poppy Pullyallup?... Tillie Transformer?... that's all i got 🤷🏻♀️. 🤗🥰
Another great video both. I love the instruction and the tools you show that you need. Ingenious ideas using different materials. Best wishes to you both and I love the blue skies you are enjoying still. 🏴
great to see the shed guys way to go! - suggested name for the little digger - "Crimson Crusher" / it is a little mighty machine and sure you guys are getting a lot of use from it and it is good to see it as facilitated your tasks around the farm! keep going! love your journey!
Amazing job on the new shed! Nick, you're a master of repurposing material, and your glamorous assistant Andrea knows more about construction than most men. To the dismay of my own glamorous assistant, I've begun hording leftover materials from my yard projects for future repurposing. I've been binge watching your channel for a few weeks now, from episode 1. I'm happy to become part of the subscriber community, of not only your channel, but also The Foggies, Dan and Laura, and other neighbors. Looking forward to future episodes. Question regarding permits: which, if any, of your projects require a building permit from the town of Alpedrinha? Steve in NY.
How about “Tatsu” which is Japanese name for a Dragon that the Kobuta digger kinda looks like. I was also thinking along the lines of songs like Mrs. Brown, Roxanne or Valerie. I adored an old boxer doggy named Roxanne on my Grandpas farm in the 1950/60’s. But Muriel was my mum in law from Durham,England.😊😊😅😅❤❤
Ooh! Another commenter suggested the name "Big Red" for the digger - then they would have a Big Red and a Little Red! ♥️ (Although my vote still goes to "Muriel")
@manny-perez - My grandmother Bertha would beg to differ... she hated "Big Bertha" ... which added insult to injury after "BVD" (her initials) became the brand name of a gentleman's underwear company... 😂😂😂😭
Oh how I’m still coming to terms with you having to buy pallets? But great barn/shed/ building that is, and using the Luton box as 1 side of it? Fantastic! The only question I have is would it be worth cutting a couple of pallets in half and putting the walls together brick pattern for a bit more strength? Apart from that great content, great video, great couple! Thank you for sharing it with us Andy, Hastings.
Lovely video! I did not really understand the making of the corner with bricks,, well maybe if it is to be visible, this looks better. But for strength it looks like that the corner will be weakened by all these joints ?? Request: I like numbers,, would it be possible, to share some tips and tricks on how you get good, affordable building materials/tools in the video,,, like we had to cough up €x for each of these pallets,, it's ridiculous bla bla.. this was a kind of cheap build as the roof was only €xx bla bla But I do think I paid to much for the.. bla bla (I like that sort of info) 🙂 I will be celebrating christmas in Portugal this year 🙂 bringing the family, first time ever we will be out...
Nice little shed 😊how about Kevin or Rodney for the digger only because that's what you will call it when it needs to be fixed,Kevin from Kevin and Perry and we'll all know about Rodney 😂
Get the idea and love the channel. To me there are a number of weaknesses in the design. The main one is the pallet walls, great idea but personally I would have put some intermediate compression dampers, say 150 x 100m or thereabout posts between the pallets. There is also a wind sheer potential issue on the walls, granted the cladding will add some rigidity to the structure but will also bring some preesure to the structure| Some simple ply gussets off the wall onto some additional roof beams would help alleviate that. A narrow reurn on the front of the pallet wall would significantly strengthen the end gable. I fully get it is a quick sun protection cover building, but for a few bob more it would be far more robust. This is not a criticism in any way just a practical observation. The changes could be made post build quite easily.
Nick thanx for the block tutorial. Great pallet Idea. Very instructive. I have a caravan arriving on Nov 7 on my property from the UK. I should arrive Dec 15 with a set up RV, a septic system, water pump from river, a small solar array and a platform for the Caravan tent. I can begin immediately to do work on the land. Wish I was there to help you guys with your olive harvest. I am having the same people harvest mine that have done it for years. I am so excited to arrive. Gina in Upstate New York USA moving to Portugal/Italy Did you buy the digger? I want to get one and a tractor.
The shed looks great. 😊 Question: why don't the pallets need to be cut & placed in a half-bond-style arrangement like the bricks? I especially wonder about the vertical stacking in pallet walls like that: what keeps them from collapsing in the middle & folding up like the covers of a book? (idk if you'll have time to answer this; but, if you do, thank you so much.)
Thanks Nick I now know how to start my corners when I make my tractor shed! Oh by the way I'm 77 so that will be handy (ps i'm not being funny I didn't know how to do it before). Your a real treasure informing us how to make stuff easy😊.
😀 I completely agree!! It seemed like rocket science before this video but now, in my 60's (a youngster to you). I finally understand some of the art!
Great to see Andrea operate the Digger. really big smile from me (and her too). Well done on the new shed.
Your work is always so precise and so well done. Even with the challenge of the rain. I really enjoy your videos.
I have never laid blocks in my life, and am never likely to, but I enjoyed the demo. Nick makes it look easy, but I am sure it is not.😊
I love watching you guys. ❤ I live vicariously through you!
Just love the tree trunk with the added bonus of somewhere to hang your coats too.
Hands down winner of upcycled post with the most character.
Did I miss the ducks playing in their new cement pond? Gosh you have been so busy, but very productive! Very good!
Great machinery shed. Hoehand fits beautifully with lots of room to spare. 🙂👍👍🇨🇦
Your like a machine powering through , you put the youngsters to shame x
Great little barn.
Easy peasy, Ya right! Well done, ole boy!
Very Nice work! Be Safe and Enjoy.
thank you for an amazing video.....One must make sure the children are all safely tucked up in bed before nite:)
Gotta take care of that digger
Congratulations on your 20k
Happy for you both. Greetings from Colchester.👍

I like it ❤
Can always count on Nick to 'get 'er done'!! 👏👏👏How about 'Dora' for the excavator? In Portuguese it's called : ESCAVADORA 😅 Nick: that was a funny ending! lol
You take such good care of "her", yeah, I vote for Dora, too.

Kiki the Kabuta 😊
Well done Nick, it's looks fantastic and it does the job 👏👏👏well done to you Angi for being Nicks glamorous assistant 👏👏👏

Good job. You make things looking so easy❤
Thanks for another great video!

In my 75 yrs I searched for a “handy man”but it wasn’t to be…Nick, do you have a brother?❤
Can't believe you covered a whole bricklaying apprenticeship in one video 😂. My dads was a bricklayer and I'm a sparks so we had plenty of back and forth as to the superior trade.

Or maybe call her "Heavy Metal Child"😂❤
Muriel is a good name. 👍
Is a Muriel not a painting!🥴
Agreed, and "Muriel's House" for the shed. (or "Muriel's Place" maybe?)
Muriel’s pad !
Good work injoy the rest of this week and weekend
Well done.
Nick you may be due for an intervention regarding the digger👍👍
😂😂😂
Nice job! 👍🥰👍🌟
❤ thanks another good video

Great job guys. Love all your projects. What will you do when everything is finished? Buy another place? Good nite Merial.
Big red
Ooh! Then the shed would be "Big Red's Shed" (which rhymes ... sorta ...)
The Digger Shed workshop is a great job. It's lovely we kubota
What a great machinery shed another week of hard work 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Hi Nick and Angie! ❤ looking beautiful in Portugal and nice farm machinery! I love diggers! So useful!
Good night, Muriel! Great video!
Like😊
Suggested name for your digger....DOUG the Digger 😀
Nicely done! I look forward to seeing if it survives winter winds.
Name for the digger? How about Daisy?
Another great video both. I love the instruction and the tools you show that you need. Ingenious ideas using different materials. Best wishes to you both and I love the blue skies you are enjoying still. 🏴
The large post is so unique and artistic. It’s beautiful. I always enjoy seeing your videos.✌🏻❤️🙏🏻🇺🇸PA
You make it so easy to build it! Cool xxx ps look forward to you carving on your totem pole!

I think Skubydoo would be good name for your Kubota. Cheers from 🇨🇦👋😃
Nick, you're so funny😂
Job well done! Bertha the digger!

Question regarding permits: which, if any, of your projects require a building permit from the town of Alpedrinha? Steve in NY.
Not if they are Agricultural support buildings, within reasonable size
@@projectportugal That's awesome. You need a permit just to sneeze around here.
Thanks for your vid 😇💟💟💟 Love and bless you guys 🙏 good work 👍😁💕
Hi guys. Loved the block work lesson.
Marvellous harbour area for your digger. Great work folks have a good weekend. 😊
We suggest.....DOUG the digger 🎉 😊
Great job you two. Another great video.

There once was a digger named ✨️Foxy✨️ and oh... how she digged thru the Roxy 😂
😄
Or.... There once was a digger named ✨️Roxy✨️ and she slept outside with the Foxy's🫣
i was wandering if the metric system causes confusion to a person that usualy uses imperial and it seems it doesn't.
keep it up, stay strong!
Love your ‘How to’ vids, and how easy you make everything look 😅 it’s taken us weeks to build a shower cubicle using 3 pallets 😂😂😂
But at least you're doing it👍
❤❤❤❤
So satisfying to watch your progress!
Makes me want to pack up here in America and join your guys over in Portugal
😂😂😂
Carve a Mermaid! you have a Beautiful model for reference! your tractor shed is what we ues to call a Yankee build. cheep/reasonable
Pension50 is good name.
In NZ the totem pole is a Pouwhenua or land pole and traditionally, the Maori people would elaborately carve them.
That was good, well done
Can you also shelter the little red Noddy car in the shed, I feel so sorry for it all alone in the open?
F
Ooh! Another commenter suggested the name "Big Red" for the digger - then they would have a Big Red and a Little Red! ♥️
(Although my vote still goes to "Muriel")
Cleaver construction 😊
Well don'e 😊
The perfect name for that digger is Bertha!
@manny-perez - My grandmother Bertha would beg to differ... she hated "Big Bertha" ... which added insult to injury after "BVD" (her initials) became the brand name of a gentleman's underwear company... 😂😂😂😭
Think Kit would be a good name for the the digger as in Kit and Kubota a play on Kit and Kaboodal !!!
Diggy McDigger Face or Diggy for short 😂🎉
Frankie off grid build a whole house almost out of pallets.. Glad they inspired you
Don't know if you noticed but we did help them a bit
@kalliehedin - Actually, Iwan and Carissa learned their pallet building skills from Nick.
Love Friday's! Well done looking Great! Muriel looks so comfy!

Stacked like this seems to be stronger, it's where all the blocks of wood meet
Me - Daisy the digger.
Lisa - Kitty Kubota
Kuby Ruby.

Great job
Hi, Andrea and Nick. Good job on the equipment garage❤️❤️
It looks like a crab " Carbie"
Betty!

Hi Gina, yes we bought it
@@projectportugal fantastic. I need to get one too....I rented one here a few times cannot imagine life without it...
Are you going to concrete the garage. Eant to see the ducks pond. Very good work
Just keeping an earth floor

They are stronger stacked this way because where all the corners of the pallets meet there is a lot of wood to fix them together easily
@@projectportugal Thanks 😀
Lovely job ❤
I love the way you build with pallets but one question Nic do you bolt or screw them to the concrete blocks if not why not ?? Call the digger Gertie
They will clamp to the blocks, will demonstrate soon
Hey, love your channel . I am a bit worried about the strength of the structure, particularly in strong winds .
😊😊
Nick, Quick question, Why do I never see block work being done there in Portugal never using vertical rebar like here in the States? Thanks
You do, depends on the situation
🍻👏👍🌟🍀💐
