Hi from South Carolina, US! Love the struggle, you are the hardest working man on earth and you inspire me the way you handle your fails! I also have a daughter with a rare genetic disorder and I completely understand how it is to deal with that so I’m truly amazed that you keep such a positive outlook on life. Just that miserable weather would depress the life out of me, lol…you go guy!!!
I think it’s so cool that we shared that same red northern lights. Here in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada 🇨🇦 we also had green with that red. It was extra special as it was our Anniversary. Truly a gift from god.
Love the videos. Glad to hear they are coming more often. The sound of the crows is amazing and the sound generally is so relaxing. Thank you and good luck with your building permission and all your exploits.
Happy to see you up and running again. Your weather is terrible but you keep on moving forward.....Cheers!!!!😊 You need to put wheels on your chicken feeder, will be easier to push/pull around
Hi Eric. I love the content of the channel. I found you when you started the barn foundation and I have gone back through all your previous videos. You and your wife will be happy with the end results of all the hard work you have both put into the farm. I look forward to following the progress of the barn rebuilding. Watching from Alberta Canada.
What an epic pour, I can't believe you ran short, but I can believe how you must've felt after that. Wow, thank goodness you had used the concrete before that happened.🫣❤️
Wonderful to see your new post, love the Light show of your skys, would be fun to see more of them!! The frosted tips on the plants is impressive, such fine sights to see, like the progress you are making on the barn, have seen youtubers have wish lists for things they need to build! Look forward to next months video! (can't wait to see how the two Barn walls come together, we have something like that here, and I will be having a roof put over it, don't like cleaning and removing the snow!) Thank you!
You are doing a great job my friend, and to say you are working by yourself I take my hat off to you. Keep up the good work and keep doing your great videos. Mick from Yorkshire UK.
I guess it is pretty hard to estimate how much volume of concrete you need to fill the forms, with tha uneven rocks at the base. Doing some calculations and buying twice as much would not have been that much of a problem. You can always use concrete on other projects and repairs on the farm later on. And if you order one large delivery, you get a much better price and don't have to drive to the store so many times. To me, it seems like that ready made concrete mix is pretty expensive, you could probably have saved quite some money by putting more rocks into the concrete form from the beginning, and not just use a few rocks to save the last part of the wall? Looking forward to see how the wooden part of the barn will look, hope everything goes well with the building application and the next steps of this project.
Hi it's been a lot of hard work. I've been looking at meteor programmes they say we have a lot more soler fliers so this winter ☃️ might be a bit different and maybe more colourful. hopefully your all ok out there looking forward to seeing you next time 🕊️
My family came from Ostre Toten and a farm named Hveem I believe. I am glad I found your channel. When they migrated to North Dakota they put up a really awesome old barn that they lost in a storm but it had these giant stone walls like yours. So good to see
@@Norwegianfarmlife No, I figure there was a reason they left! LOL! But seriously, I have not made the trip but others in my family have. I still hold to traditions passed down but was over joyed to see your barn walls that explained why they built those great barn walls in Walum, North Dakota that I think are still standing but the barn is long gone. That wall was always a curiosity for me. Now I can see what they were thinking or remembering when they first put it up.
Hey Eirik, great work on the farm and nice to finally see your channel getting the attention it deserves! The last two videos seem to have done amazing. Really enjoying the barn build. And can’t wait to see the wood parts come together!
Hello, you’re great for taking on such a difficult project, besides the fact that there’s already a lot to do!!!) About the corners, you can seal them with a thick mortar, it’s not in a hurry, you know! It's nice to watch your activities, keep up the good work 👍
Before I got my own chickens, I thought the eggs only came in white or brown but that is not the case. We have blue, green, pink, brown, white and more color on our eggs. 😊 Have you been in Norway to seek out your roots?
@ I haven’t. One of my other relatives did. The Flaten farm is still owned by cousins. Our family has a book translated from Norwegian about our ancestors beginning with Ove Boe Wagenstein Steile which I may have spelled wrong beginning in 1066 coming from Denmark to Norway. 🇳🇴
ya first time i seen it red as well , seen green and purple before but not red, seen them dance as well "les marinette" , the moon was red as well that week, had never seen it like that either, but it was cool to see,🥸🤓,Canada
When you do the floor bug cement and order a couple loads of wash crushed rock. 4 shovels rock 1 shovel cement You will save time and money. 1 cost for a bag of cement will make 6 bags of concrete
Bra tiltak, i vestnorsk tradisjon!
I am glad that your continuing to post videos. You should use # hash tags before the thumbnails and the descriptions. Example is # 100 year old farm. # Norwegian sheep,# reworking old barn, # Fiat tracktors. The people who are looking for something they will find your videos. They will find your site and then they will find your site.
i would have to do something to that gate . but i know when other jobs seam more important. is the one wall of the barn part of the natural hillside ? very cool I'm no expert but your concrete forms looked good. just needed a little more bracing maybe. I'm building a workshop by myself and one old backhoe and the wife and 7 cats . we have 2 of those cat doors front and back . Thanks for sharing this
Technically, I would not make the wall that rests against the stone wall so narrow with concrete, but I would add everything along with the concrete in a thin line to the stone wall.
No, no, NO! Don't use an impact wrench, then the wheel 'cross' to tighten up the nuts! Not with alloy rims! At worst, use torque rods, at best use a proper Torque wrench. A torque wrench costs a bit of money, but a busted rim or stripped lug bolt costs money, too. There's no such thing as 'too much' cement. Put wheels on that Chicken Tractor. Just fasten them to a lever so that you can swing them down any time you want to move it.

That is definitely great news, more videos and you are getting swamped with comments already, at least you can't hear all of us lol. 🫣 I can't wait for when the timber frame time comes, it's absolutely stunning. Don't worry about the corners that you couldn't do, it all adds character. Take care and please remember to relax as well. Greetings from Cape Town.❤️

Its Saturday, the stores are closed, I am out of concrete and exhausted. Man I was exhausted just watching you work. WOW>
You should be very proud of what you can do and what you have done. Great job, look forward to watching more!!

Me to an thank you for your concern regarding the rain we just had😊. More on that in our next video😊👍
That is not a cold joint to be ashamed of in your circumstance. That was a FULL day of work in those conditions. Nice job

So glad your channel is growing Eric. Very well deserved. The Northern Lights were stunning! Watching every video from Australia.
Glad you like them!😊
Great progress

Gracias.
Put some levered/removable wheels on the chicken tractor. Saves your back and the tractor.
You might consider putting the moveable chicken coop on sleds to help move it and to give it firmer stability.
The northern lights were beautiful! I’ve never seen pink eggs. My grandfather came from Norway (Vang) to America.
Before I got my own chickens, I thought the eggs only came in white or brown but that is not the case. We have blue, green, pink, brown, white and more color on our eggs. 😊

Hi Eric,it's a shame about your chicken cage being damaged.
It would have been far easier if you slid it across the grass while it was on its roof.
You could have used some of the foam to fill in the corner...so easy.

Content. Programs happens on television.
Sorry
Takk for det, håper den blir bra😊
Nöjd med betongblandaren från Jula?
Får vel over 500 000 visninger til neste video her
If I had to guess I'd say that was a 3 layer bank barn layer one would of been cattle levels 2 grain and level 3 hay
those are some thick walls and stone looks very hard. no idea why people would be worried
Technically, I would not make the wall that rests against the stone wall so narrow with concrete, but I would add everything along with the concrete in a thin line to the stone wall.
Hvor stor grunnflate blir det på bygget? Flotte murer!
👍👍👍👍👍
Why is the concrete beam half the width near the cliff?
What kind of sheep do you have? Never seen sheep like these before.
They are called Norwegian short tail or in Norwegian “Gammelnorsk Spelsau”. This bread go all the way back to the Vikings. 😊
Please next video after one week release..
The red light is called Steve, apparently!
Thanks for the tip😊

Give the man a break, he’s doing an exceptionally good job under harsh conditions.
@@paul4124 I just don't want to see him lose a wheel while out driving. THAT can be harsh on Norwegian winter roads.
