Just want to keep you guys updated. I did sell the vehicle about a year ago but the new owner did reach out to me stating that most of functions in the stereo don't work anymore and no technician is willing to try to fix it. Just want you guys to look out. I'm sure there's different manufacturers but even if this would have happened within the year warranty I'm sure you wouldn't get anything. It's a cool idea and too bad that Lexus can't come up with something close to it.
The newer version of this with Android 12.0 and carplay and android auto cam be purchased at Phoenix Automotive for $600. Should be alot faster and better. The newer version also has physical buttons and knobs like the oem head unit.

To clarify: A) The resistor has three leads, a red, a purple and an orange. Cut the orange and the purple leads. B) The white connector with the five leads, cut it off. C) Connect the purple and orange leads from the resistor to the grey and black wires from the cut off leads of the white connector. D) My understanding, all four leads are tie together, the two from the resistor and the two from the white connector (the grey and the black). I gather that the other three leads from the white connector are not used. E) You mentioned, “from the vehicle the cable that needs to connect is the blue” Could you elaborate on that, connect to what? Or is that something that would connect after doing the previous connection? Thanks for your help

I don’t know if you received any operating instructions for the unit, I wonder if you know the number codes to access different functions or where to get them. I purchased my unit through Amazon, but I didn’t receive any help whatsoever from the Chinese sellers, they just gave me the runaround with promised help that never came. Thanks again.

I'll start by saying for sure it won't sound better, this system is just for looks and if you would like to have more features. Your sound quality for sure will decline not by much but it will not be better.
Besides looks this is a really shity stereo I would highly suggest not to purchasing. I already sold that GX460 with the stereo that stopped working for the new owner after 6 months. I purchased a newer GX460 and I will not be upgrading/downgrading to this stupid stereo. save your money!
call quality I would say if not like the original maybe even better and when it comes to Bluetooth connectivity works a lot better than the original one.
Could you give me a more detail instructions re the installation of the resistor to fix the air bag light problem. Did you have problem with the audio? The guy who installed my unit couldn’t get the audio to work using the existing vehicle audio amplifier and had to resort to use a universal amplifier in order to obtain the audio; I don’t know if there was some trick to make the audio work with existing amplifier, but due to the lack of installation instructions, the it was a difficult installation. Thanks for any help, for sharing your experience.
I would love to help you more but to be honest I am unsure of where the installation went wrong and what exactly the installer had to do to run a difference amplifier. if everything works and you can hear from all the speakers and it sounds good I wouldn't change anything. this is a very difficult upgrade and it's much harder of an installation than anything else I've tackled. In regard to the resistor here's my explanation: from the vehicle the cable that needs to connect is the blue cable you'll see at 10:53, the resistor itself is the dongle that has three wires coming out 9:09 red orange and purple wires, you leave the red wire connected and just disconnect the orange and purple, you'll see a white connector at time 9:38 I completely cut off all five wires, I connected the purple wire from the resistor to the gray and black wire and the orange to the gray wire. this should fix your problem.
I don’t have that GX anymore but in my newer GX I did not install this tesla screen. I installed a CarPlay screen above the dash. And it works perfectly.

sadly I don't I did sell the rig about 2 months ago and at the moment I'm overseas, In short: I got the vehicle wrapped, 3in spacer lift the same that will fit on a 4Runner from the same years, 18in fuel rims bf goodrich 285/65r18 33" (nothing needed to be cut just pulled back with zip ties), on-bored inverters, air compressor, LED light pods, towing hitch, off-road siren. if you're interested in something specific please let me know.
This is the best mod you can buy for your truck, I use it for my LED pods, on-board air compressor and off-road siren. you can learn your factory garage door opener to copy the remote signal. It is pretty but I have would never put it into a new truck. it's like a cheap $80 units on steroids my conclusions; not very reliable doesn't always work properly if you have a newer unit I wouldn't waste the money mine was a 2011 and the radio is a little different (Bluetooth very unreliable) in the older model.
it seems to come with universal connectors for all years of the 460, but it does not come with any diagram or instructions of how to connect the wires and what wires not to connect. You need to be pretty technical if you want to connect this by yourself but if your technical there's nothing you can't overcome.

@@abuelb So I know there's a few different manufacturers that make the same unit. I am not sure they're all manufactured with exactly the same connectors. I have sold my vehicle 2 weeks ago. The connectors were completely trial-and-error please look at the video and you can kind of see my trial and error. when I went into the specs it did say android 9.1. 3 Zone climate control does work but as you see and my video there is a bug. changing the degrees it shows as if it's changing it on the opposite side. In general the good unit I don't think it's worth the money if it was 6 - $700 it would be worth it but not much more than that. Don't run to get rid of your original unit because I'm not sure how much this would last. looks great but functionality wise sadly it's pretty cheap.

Nevertheless, the sound went off at 8:42 till the end of the recording and this where I feel the most important aspect of resolving the airbag light issue on the instrument cluster. With money anything could be done, but the disadvantages that you have with a iPad; overheating (especially on hot days when your car is parked and you come back and you want to use it ), a lot of custom work, if the battery did die in the iPad it takes a long time for it to boot back up.

you need to take singing lessons because what I was really thinking of you was your high tone of voice ... very suitable for lyrical tenors (high notes) ... and you also do a great job with the twan sounds... nasal protection of the vocal cords which means you can't fail in the singing process when you go from low notes to the highest. There’s a carpuride screen that you can put on your dash without removing anything. It’s like $300 or something. This is kinda expensive.
I don’t have that GX anymore but in my newer GX I did not install this tesla screen. I installed a CarPlay screen above the dash. And it works perfectly.

At this price point in 2021 this should be at least optional in GX if not standard.
