- Now that the holidays have finally drawn to a close(as well as deer season) we are back to making content! However, it's Winter, and we don't really have anything pressing to do to our race car, but we figured we'd get an early start and let you guys know we are planning to return to the #nonamenationals September 21-23 in Sikeston Missouri!
We want to also help anyone who may be interested in participating! Just as you guys have supported us, we want to support you as well!
Also, we're gonna be hooking up our #nitrous finally and we figured we'd throw a #coldstart into this video since it's freezing cole outside and the car hadn't run in like two months.

That car is Awesome. I watched the entire build. For some armature builders it was a great project. 👍👍👍👍👍🇺🇸✌🏻
A few initial pumps before cranking will help it start without a choke.
Did that. It usually doesn’t like more than a couple. But this was the first time literally ever trying to start it in the freezing cold so, wanted to keep it to a minimum if I could.
Always something to do with your car. I'm going to try I need a steering column with a key and a stock shifter for a 1997 T-Bird. Then I can finish it up and work on the subscription holders.
Our Bel-Air starts better than that in the cold and also doesn't have a choke or even run good. She runs though, that sounds nice too. I hope you get complaints because otherwise why build a 360?

Thing sounds so dope. I'd go out just to start that thing up and hear her purr everyday.
It sounds much, much better when it warms up but we didnt want to push our luck lol.

You can totally choke it with your palm, where as you have access with the hood closed and two people too it would be considerably less cranking
Yeah but if we can avoid the chance of being on the receiving end of an intake backfire then we will lol.
You need a 250 shot progressive on that beast
We have a controller and the cam grind is optimized for a 250 shot but that’s the most it’ll handle before it’s just a waste of nitrous. But it’s starting with the 150 jets in it right now.

Might try a couple shots of starter fluid, or install a manual choke. 😀
The carburetor has no provisions to add a choke. No choke tower.
Starter fluid is ether, and as Austin said "That's cheating." Granted, I myself would've just had my daughter give 'er a good spray in there just to save time, or I'd spray the starting fluid and let her turn the ignition. We'd take turns.
Some performance carbs don't have chokes..theirs doesn't

The Jet cold start was really a cold start! You are lucky the neighbors don’t call the Police/Sheriff on you guys the disturbing the peace. Lol 😂. Austin loves the Don Ho Hawaiian shirts….. even in freezing weather!

Drop the rear a bit an get them tyres in the guards will go better at the drags not sitting up so stupid narrow the rear it to high jacked come on yous can do it . Don’t do the talk an not the walk . All the best Brian . Tasmania 👍🏻

The plugs only have 2 runs on them and like, 40 miles of regular driving. Its literally just cold and the car has no choke.
That car is miles from being finished. Where's the AM/FM 8-track? Where's the coat hanger twisted around the inner door handle and fed through a hole drilled through the door skin so you can stylishly open it from outside? I don't even see any lime green fur glued to the dash pad. Come on, guys.
Oh just wait until we knock all the tumblers out of the locks so we can just use a screwdriver to lock and unlock it lol

It smooths out once it actually has a chance to warm up. I wasn’t aware that I would have to explain that.

What is its 1/8 or 1/4 mile time? Whatever it is make it faster. There is plenty to do to the engine and setup.

@@tedesco455 that’s not what I said at all. I said we don’t have anything we really want to do to change the overall setup of the car except add nitrous. Literally this car has been to the drag strip twice in its life and the engine is barely broken in. So we’re gonna get experience before we make it even faster than it already is so we reduce the chance of wadding it up in a spectacular fireball. That’s the logical thing to do.
I want to go, and I want to race you... if I get my subs up. its just a crappy old 95 mustang.

That would be a question for John Wilburn actually. But, why just work in the pits when you can participate in the racing? Getting the prerequisite subs is honestly easier than it sounds and it’s worth the effort!

Do something about the starting . Not normal get to the bottom of this problem your not doing that engine an favours .
Yeah I think the fix for this is to put a bunch of space heaters in Jon's front yard so that the ambient winter air around the Jet is replaced by a tropical climate, localized completely in Jon's driveway lol.
In warmer weather, it fires up almost immediately.
Do try to run it for 30 mins driving to cook the raw gas and moisture out of the oil. Better to not run it at all than just do a short startup and shutdown. A run to the store should be all it needs.
Sell it to me so I can keep it in a garage and it will be homage to Jim Bennett and Daddy's money garage. I can get busy with my 383 for it and hopefully get the subs for the NNN.
