RIP Gary Beach.... No one played "Lumiere" so great on stage other than him. What a showstopper.
Wasn't Gary beach the best as Lumiere? Also don't forget Tom Bosley was the original Maurice on broadway, he passed way as well. I played Cogsworth in the Jr. Production it was a blast!
Even David Ogden the original voice of Cogsworth of the 91 film, passed as well I feel very lucky that I got to put my stamp on this role. I was able to say the well known line, if it's not baroque don't fix it & I used the British accent.
Wasn't he also Hitler in The Producers?
Oliver Delica If your talking about David Ogden he was never in the producers.
the hug Susan Egan gives him is full of love and thanks:
when she hugs him she does it's if she's huging gary

"tie your naPpPpPpPpPpkin 'round your neck chérie"
Maggie Jones *visible spittle*
Pfft one of the people is dressed as measuring spoons I love this show so much
Oh My God, those costumes are absolutely divine and glorious. I wish I could see it in detail in person.
It was fantastic. The video can't even come close to capturing it.
It’s going on a us tour next year
@@FatFiber8096 it's the not the same production. the one that is opening in america next year is a replica of the 2021 uk tour. the one in this video hasn't been seen in any theatre around the world except japan since 2010. the japanese production was the 90s tour and it closed in 2017. the new japanese production is a replica of the 2010 us tour.
@@alexoy2k the tour is better than nothing
The Napkins cancan is still my absolute favorite part of the number. So much energy and The way the gowns flow so perfectly. I just love it
RIP Heath Lamberts and Gary Beach. So wonderful!
They will be missed
Lumiere was the first one belle bonded with; the two of them got close very quickly
Gary beach...forever in our hearts💔
RIP Gary Beach. Thank you for your portrayal of Lumiere!!!
This song led to one of my favorite ovations for a show I saw onstage. We saw it on Salt Lake City on tour in 2000. Ron Wisniski played Lumiere. During the extended ovation for this song, he raised his right arm and lit the flame, proceeding to wave it around like he was at a rock concert.
This looks like the L.A. production. We didn't have the fork & knives on the backdrop in NYC until much later. Also the salt, pepper & cheesegrater costumes are the revised versions that were seen in L.A. & then the tour(s) after Broadway opened. They eventually went into the Broadway production after it went into the Lunt Fontanne Theater.
I was wondering that, cause looks a lot like touring set we saw in argentina & brazil as well in ‘98 and 2010 goodbye-tour, and always seemed to me bway prod was slightly different
Also, didn’t the plates rise out of the ground when the show was at the Palace?
The best version I’ve ever seen! The costume is amazing. We can tell what furniture they are just from their costume.
The can can dance at the end is a surprise! Never thought to see Belle dance a can can. LOL
The energy, the happiness, they’re all in there. Love it!
Gary Beach. Broadway star and greatest lumiere on stage
R.I.P Gary beach (1947-2018)
I saw this in L.A (before it went to broadway) when I was only 2 years old. I saw it again on Broadway when I was 11 year and I was it twice on tour when I was in my teens. Needless to say I really l love this show.
you mean houston?
To the unsung (get it? Cuz it’s broadway?) hero who recorded this masterpiece, thanks so much! You are awesome
Rip Gary Beach may he rest in peace 💜💜💜💜💜❤️❤️❤️❤️💙💙💙♥️♥️♥️♥️💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚
Thank you for having this! Brought back so many great memories. Rest in Peace to the incredible Gary Beach.
“Take a glance and thEēæn you’ll be our guest!” 😂
He sings great
Here I am, on a fiday night with new-to-me headphones bought off fb marketplace, catching up on ripping some of my cds, and when I open up the Broadway Musical of Beauty and the Beast cd, which I got from the library bookstore, I thought the signatures on the cd were fascimile since they were in gold pen, but as I looked closer, I saw they weren't perfect handwriting, and in slightly tilted positions on the disc, even covering some of the disc information..well, looking into the cd booklet at the names of some of the cast, I found out my cd was signed by Susan Egan (Belle) and Gary Beach (Lumiere)!! Woow❤❤ Sadly, Mr. Beach has passed, but I am so greatful to discover his music and performances for the first time (in 2024, no less). And Susan Egan, wow what a lovely voice as Belle... I never got to see many stage plays growing up, but now at 34, I try to see live music and theatre at least once a year. As mainstream media continues to devolve and regress away from the actual skill and talent of the musical arts, I'll stick to discovering real artists and performers like Susan Egan and Gary Beach, even if on the niche physical media of CDs. What a gem of a find. This just made my year and really makes me feel closer to the performers. I love this❤
Rip Gary Beach so very sad 😭😭😭 may he rest in peace
This is so awesome I'm playing Lumiere My highschool's version and I was told to base it off this one
Bravo! Much better than what we are getting nowadays!
I had this pleasure in 1995... Love Love Love... congrats from Brazil.
Beth Fowler played Mrs.Pot、for ever love
She was the only cast member who lasted from opening night to the final curtain.
I remember this song specifically at the L.A. show, which I went to 2x. Some moron in the audience, after this fantastic, highly energetic performance of this number yelled, "one more time" and Susan Egan replied back to the moron something to the effect of, "Yeah? If you think it's so easy, then you do it." Hilarious way to handle a jerk. Great musical. Still remember it all so clearly to this day. Great performances all around.
This is the 1995 LA company! I had the opportunity to enhance the set adding more color and elements to this company which became the model for the International Companies that came after. Stanley A. Meyer Scenic Designer
I wish there a full version of this performance!
I love it! I am going to be Lumiere in my school! :)
Congratulations! Make the most of that opportunity, there's nothing like performing in a production of Beauty and the Beast. It's one of my favorite shows I've ever been in, have fun!
I wish I could've seen Gary Beach perform in person, that dude is the best Lumiere ever. No other Lumiere is better for me.
If I could go back and watch that live, I would. I have loved the movie for *years* Belle was the first "princess" and female character I could relate to (Diana Prince, Anya and Katara I love, too). I saw something like this at Disneyland, as I went in July 1992, and remember the dishes vividly. I've always loved Paige O'Hara in the role (and still do) , but I am quickly becoming a Susan Egan fan. Thanks.
I wonder if Sussan can do those high kicks now?
It has been 26 years so....I don't know.
This is was and Will be forever the best Disney production
Disney's Beauty and the Beast: The Broadway Musical
Original Broadway Cast Recording

Lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice
Orchestration by Danny Troob
Music Supervision and Vocal Arrangements by David Friedman
Musical Director Robby Merken
Is no one gonna say that at 8:34 That "Oh, Lumière" was said very pleasantly and sus?
At least they kept a table similar to 0:59. And they kept it for Mrs. Potts verse. 2:25 is so nostalgic because it's been cut out from the UK Tour (influenced by the NETworks Tour.), and the costumes were not used. The ensemble were made out of humans! They also never used a staircase made out of dishes seen at 3:25. Now it's just arches and... no plate stairs and no catwalks from the 2018 Disney Cruise Line. The set in the UK Tour is kinda boring without it!
You know, I think the dishes in Mrs. Potts’ verse and the table from the first verse were all switched around.
This has to be a try out or a preview. There are sound and entrance errors and the choreography was slightly adjusted.
Yo did homie just moonwalk? 😂
I think so 👌😂😂
WHEN
@@UmmOopsy 1:24 😂
It’s too bad they never recorded (as far as I know) the original cast and officially released it. I wish this had gotten the Hamilton treatment.
Me 2.

Hello 👋 Carlos favela

0:41 You've been Trolled!
You've been Trolled!
You have probably been told.
Don't reply, to this guy;
he is just getting a rise,
out of you! Yes it's true,
you respond and thats his cue
to start trouble on the double
while he strokes his manly stubble
You've been Trolled!
You've been Trolled!
You should probably just fold
When the only winning move is not to play
And yet you keep on trying,
Mindlessly Replying.
You've been Trolled.
You've been Trolled.
Have a Nice Day!
