    I normally don't comment, but your video has saved me money and our beloved machine. I was able to repair our 15-year old Bosch following your video exactly. You pointed out what to look for, how to line up panels and explained the little things one would have gotten hung up on. Excellent video!! Thank you for putting this together.

    Thank you so much for perhaps the best most complete “how to” video I’ve seen. Success! You can’t buy a full size Bosch any more and I’m so thankful that during a pandemic I was able to fix our washer without having to buy a new one (and wait!)...Thanks again!

    The video is much appreciated. Your method worked great. I can't believe how many people try to do it through that little access hole. Well worth the extra 15 min taking the front panel off. Far less swearing involved.

    Super thorough and accurate. Thank you so much! I've done a lot a appliance repair over the years, so I knew basically what I needed to do, but Steve showed me all the little tricks in this video that saved me lots of time and aggravation. For example, when pulling out the existing drain pump, reaching underneath the machine and disengaging the rubber feet before pushing back on the pump and lifting it out. And I was getting frustrated trying to put the wire band clamp back in place around the bellows until I watched Steve carefully, and did it exactly like he did it. Snapped right in place. By the way, my washer was a Nexxt 700 series, and the trim is a little different, but this video still covers all of the critical stuff. Steve is awesome. Thank you, thank you!

    Great job Steve!
    ... I did this once before and out of all the videos(not many) None said take notice of the Hook on the hinge attachment to the machine. Notice when he is reinstalling hinge again. I put it back on but one of the hooks didn't set at the top. Door went back on but eventually the plastic piece inside door lock broke as locking loop pin kept striking it and pressure on plastic broke. BEST EXAMPLE OF REPLACING PUMP OF THE BOSCH MACHINES. 👍👍👍👍👍 Always ✔ check your work. Thank You. Great Close ups of work.

    The video is very helpful.

    Removing shroud helped to get better access to pump from above.

      @Fred-gv3kh 8 місяців тому

      Ah but have you installed the new pump yet? Wondering about doing this myself (through the pump hole), but one person here said they injured their arms trying. Easier to remove pump than to install it, what do you think?

    • @Fred-gv3kh
      @Fred-gv3kh 8 місяців тому

      Helpful video, but absolutely unconscionable (and despicable) that bosch went out of their way to make pump replacement this difficult. Do washing machine designers work as washer repair servicemen on the side?? Lol. It’s ‘almost’ as if Bosch didn’t want people to unclear blockages or change/ clean filters… but wanted people to pay technicians to replace the pumps after they fail!!

    • @ray96723
      @ray96723 8 місяців тому

      @@Fred-gv3kh yes I both removed and installed pump via front service port. Major trouble for me was dealing with clamps on water lines to pump. If not for easier access by both hands thanks to removed shroud, I don't think I'd succeed. Other operations such as settling pump in place were simpler, need to fit rubber supports into bottom cutouts in washing machine.

    • @ray96723
      @ray96723 8 місяців тому

      @@Fred-gv3kh as for injuring, having small hands and wearing protective gloves definitely helps. Otherwise yes, injury is possible -lots of thin metal in crumpled space. I think difficulty with replacement is more likely due to winning of aesthetics over functionality. Rectangle big service port probably seemed less appealing than small round one. Although why original pump didn't have means to drain it conveniently, beats me. Bosch engineers must have seen this problem, yet chose to do nothing.

  • @BG-uf2nv
    @BG-uf2nv 4 роки тому +5

    As an aside... sometimes it's way easier to do pump replacement by just tipping the washer on its side or back. You can generally access pumps and motors from the bottom without too much trouble, and you don't have to take everything apart!!

    • @johnnyguitar_34
      @johnnyguitar_34 Рік тому +2

    DANG STEVE!! Changing the pump itself doesn’t look too tough. But taking all of that stuff off to gain access...WHAT A P.I.T.A.!!! Fortunately, my older model has the round access hole right out where you can get to it without removing anything else. I saw another guy do this repair just through that hole. I’m going to attempt it that way. If I fail, thanks for showing me what I have to do as a backup plan. Great video! Thanks!

    • @ronster6656
      @ronster6656 4 роки тому

      BlueSkyFlier Well, it turned out to be nothing more than one of my wife’s elastic hair ties had somehow gotten into the pump and jammed it. A guy in another video suggested flipping the paddles of the pump to see if they would spin and he gave a code for testing just the pump. It worked and that thing has been performing flawlessly ever since. Unfortunately, I had already ordered a new pump. $60 sitting on a shelf in my basement indefinitely. Cheap insurance, I guess.

      Duane Miles I found it on eBay. The vendor name is “generalapplianceparts”. Just do a search with the pump part number 436440. Their name is across the picture of the pump and according to their listing, they’ve sold a bunch of them.

    The drain hose installation at 9:35 was almost impossible: it was too tight! Either the hose was swollen either the replacement was different or out of specs. Got it for $70 from a store that seems reputable on eBay. It did not fit. I plugged it halfway and hope it will stick… I’ll monitor for a while.

      Hi Annette, let me check and see if we can track down the model number for that washer. It's a bit of an older video so I'll see if we can track it down. I know you said your model number came off the front of your washer, but sometimes the model number can be found in a couple of different areas on the washer. I'd recommend checking out this guide to finding your model number, and see if you can't track it down! If you have it, I can further help you find the part you're looking for!
