- Installing the Ravetech skid plate on my V-Strom 650 was a breeze, I'm looking forward to take it out and ride!!!
@Bearded_vstromrider_reviews installed the same skid plate and made a video of it, I watched it before I installed my own..
Thank you for buying one of our Ravetech skid plates. You don't require the washers on the exhaust side as it is a stainless rear mount with a new flange bolt. Good job.
Thanks mate, great product!! Yeah I don't remember if it said anything about it in the instructions, perhaps if it isn't add a side note?
@@NamelessRiderz Done, thank's again.
Awesome!
Nice job, looks very similar to the SW Motech. Much easier to fit than my B & B bashplate
Cheers, yeah pretty easy, oil changes are but annoying now 😁
Nice vid!
I have a Ravetech guard fitted on my 2020 xt Strom and it’s a great sturdy piece of kit.
Like you, the only problem I had was removing the bolt on the left hand side on the side stand.
Suzuki must have used plenty of heavy duty Loctite on it .
The fact the guard does not fit onto engine cases is exactly my reason for purchasing Ravetech.
I agree, great investment!! 2020 Strom must a real joy to ride!!
I'm shopping skid plates for my 2020 Wee strom right now. And even though it's a big ugly beast I think I'm going to go with the T-Rex racing because it does not mount to the engine cases in any way and it has an oil filter access. I did enjoy your video. Thanks.
Thanks mate, yeah changing oil and filter is pretty annoying.. but I'm pretty happy with mine. That said I don't do any property off roading.. hope the t Rex does the trick!!
If it's to tight....get a hammer.
If it doesn't fit...get a hammer.
I like your style...hammer time.
Hahaha, maybe that should be my slogan 😁
You should be able to use the rear stand by yourself yeah? They can be a bit freaky the first time but once you work it out it’s easy 👍🏻
I haven't been able to do far, been too scared it would all go wrong.. also my garage slopes so it take a lot of effort to get the bike up..
Rear stand is a solo effort... prop bike stand on a bit of wood/brick or whatever, til it's almost upright, roll the stand under, hook into the bolts and now you are supporting the bike so it won't fall over - downward pressure on the stand holds it all in place. Bob's your uncle. Reverse order for putting it down. Ride away!
I'll have to try it one day, maybe I'll lock the front wheel. And turn the bike around so it slopes down rather than up..
Thanks for the tip, didn't think to raise the bike stand
I’m just in the middle of the project to make my self one.
The only thing what I don’t like in most of skid plates is fittings. I very very disagree with fittings bolted on directly to the engine. As soon as you hit something hard your plate will be fine but mounts may get in to the engine case. And how much that will cost to repair? A lot.
Any way nice video great narration.
Yeah That's understandable, I guess depends how rough you'll be with it.. ideally make a door to get to the oil filter 😄 (assuming you're mounting it on a v Strom)
Nameless Riderz off course. Got vid on my channel but in polish at the moment 😉 I’m working on English subtitles or spoken one.
