This sweater might look complicated, but it's NOT! So simple! 😀 It's worked top to bottom, so you can make a crop top, a regular sweater or a dress. Watch the whole intro and you will get all the info you need: the options on yarn, hook and the sizing. Please, SUBSCRIBE, LIKE & SHARE with others! xoxo
Once you have moved to the repeat rounds of the body, wouldn't the seaming be unnecessary? I think you could avoid the seam in the bodice by continuing in the round... or does that not work?
you are an answer to prayer....i was struggling looking for a pattern like this which is like the children's pattern. ..now you have figured out the math for adults and i can make a pullover sweater for an adult....now that I have the concept i can do a different stitch other than granny, right, lol....thank you. ...God is blessing you because he gave you this info to share. ..thank you 😀😁😂
The solution to the extra skipped chains would be to make the starting chain divisible by 4 AND 3 (multiples of 12). A chain of 84 would have worked perfectly. 😉 The math is actually one of my FAVORITE things about crochet. I hope this helps! Cannot wait to try this pattern for myself!!
Hello Joanna. Thank you for the tip, but I need help. Is the first measurement of your head or shoulders? The head measurement is 13 inches or 33 cm. Do I divide the 13 inches by 4.
You don't divide the measurement of the head. First, crochet a chain that is 13 in long. Count the chains and bring them to a number that is divisible by 3 and 4 (or multiples of 12).
@Lenysea, a very very BIG thank you for mentioning a detail that could be considered trivial by many, but has actually solved a huge problem for me. You mentioned that we should use single yarn and not double as it would be flowing and take the form of the body or else it might get stiff... That's exactly what was happening to all my earlier crochet projects. I was using double and triple yarns to make the tops warm but ended up with very stiff and heavy and of-course not so interesting looking projects. Thank youuuuuuuuuuu....
I have crocheted 45+ years and I was a teacher before my disability caused me to stop working. I have a hard time with the Top down method. Another UA-camrs showed the math and then just made the project. He showed how each math step tied into the. actual crocheting. Anyway, after a year of attempting the top down sweater I finally got it! I remember a Professor in College telling us there are about 10 ways to teach most things. Some people just can’t get it if it’s not explained in another way. I’m not saying you’re doing anything wrong. Just that you shouldn’t feel bad that a handful of people didn’t get it while 162k seemed to understand!!
Thank you for this lovely sweater. After I chained 88 sts I placed stitch markers to each corner chain (increase stitch), counted out where to place the 3 dc's. Then I took out a few chains and it worked out perfect.
A short sleeved summer top in 4 ply cotton . Starting from the neck I used this tutorial till the width was half my width plus ease then instead of 3dc clusters I did 4 dc clusters which gently flared it out at the hips then a closed shell pattern for the bottom.
I would love to try this for my daughter! I have never made a garment, because the fitting seemed so difficult to me. But you have explained this so well!
Hi lm from Egypt my name is Alaa i just wanted to thank you cus i really learned a lot from you you make it so easy to follow again thank you for all the beautiful projects you make for us🌹💐
I have AC Moore near me. I will check this yarn out. Perfect transitional sweater. I am.lucky I have all the craft shops not to far from me. Hobby Lobby, Michael's , and Joann's are all in the same general area.
You are fantastic! I'm a new at crochet and your videos are wonderful!!! I do need written patterns as well as your video assists tho. Do you have written instructions I can print out? You are so talented...the best I've found! Thanks for your help.
Cute! Is there a written pattern for this, I may purchase? Also, any suggestions for adding a band around bottom and end of sleeves....I would like to make the sleeves longer.
Very interesting and good looking project. I enjoyed very much a your tutorials: very clear easy without extra words explanation. Thanks. It would be much easier to follow you, Lenysea, if you add to your tutorial a description of this and any other pattern. In case you have a page on your website, please, name the web address.
I think I figured out the answer for the math problem in the beginning. The chain circle must be dividable in 2 and 3. 2 because it has to an even number. And 3 because there's in 1 slipstitch 3dc, skip 2, which makes it a multiple of 3
For those of you who have made this pattern, I'm just curious what you wear underneath the sweater so that it isn't see -thru? A camisole? A t-shirt perhaps?
everything you make is just beautiful but as u said rightly I am from India I am not able to get those beautiful or perfect yarn brands.. on Amazon they are so costly😄

@@prrlgrrl That would make the end a little lopsided. This way we have a better finish. I have already made 2 of these.

Lenysea Thank you Lenysea. I really want to make this. How do I figure out how to make my increases? I have a total of 60 chains.
Lenysea This does seem right. My total number. I measured across the head and added a little extra. I didn’t measure around the head.

What size is this and how many ball of wool for size 12
How much yarn should we have?
Helloo what size you wear normally? 😊
I think I figured out the answer for the math problem in the beginning. The chain circle must be dividable in 2 and 3.
2 because it has to an even number. And 3 because there's in 1 slipstitch 3dc, skip 2, which makes it a multiple of 3
AcMoore now has a web site you can order from.
Yess
Im new to crocheting. Ive been doing basic stuff. I'd like to make this but I'm bustier and I want it to be some what fitted. Is that possible?
So if I chains 120 div
Beautiful 😍❤️
Lovely sweater but I must admit you had me totally confused in places. I will start over and use the advise offered by a commenter.
I couldn't find this pattern to buy. Help?
In India there is no information about which hook or needle to be good to use so what can I do
I am making a cardigan with Buttons at the Front.
For those of you who have made this pattern, I'm just curious what you wear underneath the sweater so that it isn't see -thru? A camisole? A t-shirt perhaps?
Candis Judge I wear a tank top underneath.
@@Lenysea thank you for such a speedy reply! It looks really pretty, so I think I'll have to give it a whirl 😃
Size XL !!! How many STS I should start .... please let me know mam tanq
Hi. I attempted to make this but it bubbles. I don't know why and how to fix it. Please help cus I really want to make it.
I would suggest to undo it completely and redo it. There is no way to fix a mistake. No matter how you try to hide it, it will show.
It goes around the armhole, but what to do if the chest part is tight?
Add rows to the yoke until the chest fits in.
how much yard needed for this project
How many chains would I need for small
everything you make is just beautiful but as u said rightly I am from India I am not able to get those beautiful or perfect yarn brands.. on Amazon they are so costly😄
Thank you so much!
But you don't have to have these exact yarn brands. Use what you have available. I bet you have some nice yarns there.
Amei, muito bonita.
