- In this woodworking project watch as I build and install painted face-frame cabinetry for our kitchen pantry. This kitchen cabinet project included drawers with full extension ball bearing slides. I also decided to add detailed crown molding, bead board backing in the open shelf upper cabinets, as well as a beautiful Sepele countertop, to really highlight the kitchen cabinets.
It's beautiful design made it an enjoyable project as well as it serves as practical storage in my home.

i guess I am kind of randomly asking but do anybody know of a good place to stream new series online ?
@Beckett Zakai i use Flixzone. Just google for it :)
@Beckett Zakai i watch on Flixzone. You can find it by googling :)
it is beyond me how a video like this gets thumbs down. it's so nice to watch this process from someone this skilled and experienced. thanks for sharing, Jon. keep 'em coming
The haters. There's always a few.
I liked this video. No talking, no goofy graphics. Just straight forward 'How to do it.' Thanks!
I throughly enjoy watching you create these wonderful looking cabinets and the others projects you do. I learn a great deal from your videos. Tha k you for sharing.
same
this is how it's done everyone. you cannot beat a man at his game. thanks Jon!
Outstanding build and install. Been following for many years, you never fail to impress and teach.
An oldie but a goodie.
For some reason it really matters to me that the screw on the outlet is vertical. So satisfying. Nice build.
Good, wonderful Job,
I loved it, Peter
I'm so happy to see it,..😚
What a great video. Thanks Jon.
Thanks for making this vid. Your woodworking is always an artwork!
Turned out great, I picked up several tips from this one. Thanks for sharing
You can clearly see the 30 years of experience in the technique used here. Such a pleasure to watch.
Great video, Jon. Fun to see these projects come together all in one video.
Excellent! I love how you show assembly tips like nailing pieces in place so that drilling screws will not move the pieces. Thank you for sharing a job well done!
Always a pleasure to watch you work, Jon. It's nice to see how you work and that you pre drill all the holes, cut a bevel on the filler pieces etc. You just take your time to do it properly. Craftsmanship at its finest, perfect.
Thanks Rene
Wow editing, skills I am hypnotized. Amazing.
Man this is just therapeutic to watch. Loved it
Jon, another awesome job. Thanks so much for sharing.
Really enjoyed this video. I'll be doing a kitchen remodel in the coming year, so will probably re-watch this video several times.
Another great video Mr. Peters. Thanks!
Great job on the kitchen cabinets Jon! Thank you for sharing the video with us.👌👍😎JP
Beautiful cabinets, Jon!
Very professional as would be expected from a Pro! I really like the bead board. I refaced my kitchen a couple of years ago and used it as the panel for the doors. I like the look. Thanks Jon!
I wasn't going to watch this video at first, because I thought "Kitchen cabinets, I have seen that hundrets of times, what information could be in there?" but the techniques you used to really make it fit in the corner, the bevel cuts on the frame and the thin plywood templates: I have never seen that before. Thank you, Jon!
Beautiful work!!
That was fun to watch. You sure know how to make it look easy!
Excellent.
Beautiful work. I didn't understand that bevel on the face plate until the install. Great trick
Great job Jon 👍!
Very nice work Jon...
Great job
Content creators are free to upload what they want. But this right here is what Jon does beatbox
This is awesome, good work!
Excellent tutorial video. I love how it looks done
Awesome build! Super helpful too considering I’ll be starting my own kitchen cabinet build here soon!
Awesome work Jon! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
Parabéns Jon, belo projeto.
Beautifully exacting wood working Jon! You know that I love that top & the wood that you used to make it................ :)
Beautiful work, Jon! I must have rewatched that part where you scribed the line to make those cabinets fit against the wall and must admit I'm still confused how that trick works
This is beautifull. I really like it. Awesome job
Very nice work sir!
Very very nice, I like it.
Very nice 👍
THE Master!
Muito bom,
Parabéns
18:05. What a great technique for scribing. Mitre cut and trim in.👍🏻
Amazing to watch, I really enjoyed every minute - thank you x
Nice job
Great video!!! I wasn't sure about the beveled faceframe until I saw you scribe. I've never seen someone use a jig saw and block plane to scribe... thanks for the tip.
Easy as that ! Ha ha . Looks really good and bespoke .
Jon, Beautiful work.... Nice job on the video presentation, too :-)
Love this vid...
I'm at the stage in my development where I don't need step-by-step detailed construction... logistics & pulling it all together are what I needed. ( & got )
I also learned a couple nu tricks ... using the brad nailer to hold the pieces before screwing is a great idea... as is the hot glueing the back panels.
I wasn't sure what was goin on with the 45° on the faceframe until the installation part ... eases scribing cuts... 🤗
All in all, a great vid ... not too "speeded up" to know what was goin on. Personally I'd have gone with a french cleat for the uppers & maybe even the cabs ! ... floaters 🙄😂
Thanks Jon 😎👍☘️🍺
freakin' magician!
I don't even need cabinets but I watch this entire video from start to finish! I think I have a problem.
Looks great dude!
Thanks Matt!
Jon once again you amaze us with your grace of tool handling and ease of making beautiful pieces of furniture, to take a few words from some of your viewers and commentators it isn't easy making these fine pieces, a lot of thought goes into it, specially when your filming. thanks for sharing your tips and tricks. Happy Holidays...
Thank you...appreciate the comment!
Nice
Fuiste mi inspiración 👌👌👌✌✌✌🇦🇷🇦🇷
Guy behind the counter at the hardware: sir, would you like a straight edge to mark straight lines on your work piece?
Jon: Why would i need that? I have my straight hands.
Man you make it look so easy when we all know it isn’t.
Why do you use hot melt glue to seal the drawers?
Curious about the finish used in the sprayer and how much it needed thinned?
attentiion to detail Put that plate screw verticle. I worked for a guy as an apprentice looked for that.thank you
Awesome Jon ! You make it look so easy .... very nice indeed ! :-) Dennis D. H.
i missed this format :,)
Cabinets turned out beautiful! Would love if you could discuss the reason for using the glue gun on the back in a future video.
Nice, but have to say that for the time and materials, one cannot beat RTA cabinets. With so many options, and measurements available today, I am really surprised local cabinet shops stay in business
Thanks for posting this video. I found your channel last year when I was looking into installing trimwork and molding, now I am back because I am building and installing cabinets in between two walls about 64 inches apart. Tons of great info and very helpful. Out of curiosity, did you remember to get your coffee cup out of the wall before you closed it up?
This is amazing to watch! How did you make the drawer doors?
Hi Jon, your videos are really good and I recommend your channel to a lot of people. I am a framer by trade but I do finer woodworking in my spare time. Do you have any content about how to make inset drawers / doors? Thanks, Joseph
Imagine being able to build a woman brand new cabinets. This man is a real rock star. Am I right ladies?
You made it look easy! And wow, how long was that sapele?
Awesome work !! Where do I get mdf with plywood core ?
Great video, Jon! But why the hot glue on the joints?
Great work as always. Does anyone know the name of this MDF faced plywood?
WOW. Thanks for the lesson in craftsmanship. Wanna be neighbors?
Just perfect Jon, loved all that scribing, have a nice day Mate !!!.
Thanks Brian!
Hi peter great video realistically how long would you say it takes to make one double cabinet. Im looking at making my own cabinets next year ive got a workshop and the tools just trying to workout time to complete to prepare the wife for how long it takes ha. I would be using birch ply and just a trim then to cover the edges. Keep up the good work
Which bit you used with the trimmer ? Can we have a link?
Is that hardboard layered on top of plywood? I've never seen that type before. I have to assume it's expensive. Anyone have details on this? Is this considered higher quality, or harder surface, or smoother, all of the above? I need to try my hand at cabinet building one day as I have rental properties and if nothing else I could simply build bathroom vanity cabinets better than the junk you get at big box store.
Loved the bead board too by the way. Thanks and liked.
What was the wood used to make the counter top?
What plywood did you use for the carcass?
Bing, Bang, Boom... That's how it's done. Awesome job Bud. Hoping all is well, Dirty Jersey out!!
Thanks Bud!
What brand and size of fasteners do you count on for these cabinets, Jon. Looks like drywall screws but couldn’t quite see them.
What you use as a finish on the wood?
What is the name of the spray gun you used to spray and do you like it ?
What kind of wood did you use for this? And what would the normal cost be for materials for a standard sized kitchen.
On a 12 inch deep drawer, is 1/2 inch ply for the bottom adequate strength for a 'pots and pans' type application?
Beautiful job and great video.. What timber did you use for the worktop and what sheet material did you use?
Thanks, Birch plywood and the top is Sepele wood
I have a question about cutting to the correct length. When you mark at say a length of 45 mm, do you then split the line when you cut or do you cut to the outside of the line? If you cut to the centre of the line, will it not make the length (although minuscule) short of the actual length you marked out?
bummer, no hats in your shop with the logo. that would be a cool ball cap
What type of plywood did you use for the walls? It looks like plywood with a thicker particle board veneer, but I want sure. Where can you find it?
If I knew it only takes 18 minutes to build new kitchen cabinets I would have done it a long time ago!
Jon, great job. What kind of wood is the counter?
Thanks! ... Sepele Wood
@@JonPetersArtHome that board was an amazing find. Beautiful grain, very clear, and like 14 foot long.
Was that a glue gun at about 8:20 ? I never thought of using one of those to use in this fashion on a project. Thanks for the idea.
Frederick Watson was it used like caulking to fill the gap?
@@cynthiateigen6757 Reinforces the plywood in the dados as well as keeps the back from bowing out...
what kind of plywood is that?
What brand/ model is your table saw? How do you like the Milwaukee fuel tools?
It’s an old Powermatic 66 and the Milwaukee is pretty good
Is that hardboard sided plywood? Where do you get that and/or what's it called? I've never seen it and it looks pretty cool.
It’s a medium density overlay . It’s great for painted projects and is made by Garnica Plywood.... hard to find and I can’t get it anymore near me.
What kind of plywood is that? what's its name?
Why dont you like to dado the
Body into the frame?
