Thanks for bringing both buses along Steve, your display looked good and I am sure it's exactly what you envisaged when you started your projects. Hopefully the radiator dramas are now all done and dusted and you can enjoy a reliable Merlin :)
Am so sorry mate with how it all turned out. You are to be commended for all your hard work and dedication Steve. I know you will bounce back mate, and we all look forward to seeing your repairs .
I would have absolutely lost my shit if that had happened to me, so full credit for remaining in good spirits and getting both buses to BusFest. On the upside you're not going to have to worry about faffing about with that shroud any more, and the thermo fan will be so much more efficient at keeping the radiator cool. A worthwhile upgrade!
Good idea to get some help fitting the new rad, hopefully it all works out. One thing I would say is use the time until then to look over the associated sensors, pipes and electrics to make sure they're up to the task.
yeah my mate and I will be doing that over Christmas break. Luckily the alternator is strong and charging well, and there really isnt much hanging off it.
Hey mate again i feel for you. After all that hard work, of which you have put into both 1101 & Harry the Merlin was nice to see both of them together. Dylan should not blame himself it could've happen to anyone. At least you got my bus ( the Premier Denning & the BCI Coach) but it was a great day. Talk & catch up soon. Cheers. 🤟🤟🤟👍👍👍
When I drove for North & Western (Gladesville) many years ago I used one of those Ticket machines, or was it with Shorelink (Hornsby Busco). This was back in the 1990's.
The old Almex. I recall them back to the 1970s with Deanes and Cumberland Metro West. CLICK CLACK with the lever as the 1” square ticket was issued. Deanes used yellow rolls while MW used white. Parramatta Ryde Bus Service used whiz bang electronic machines with the BZZZT printers and vacuum fluorescent number displays.
Impressed how you coped with a level head. Very inspirational. Glad you still got to enjoy the day. The electric fan should be a major upgrade as long as the electrics are up to it. Can’t wait to see how it works out. 😅
Love watching your videos, love the two buses I'm from uk I'm a Bus Enthusiasts , Bus Nut lol, it quite big over here in the uk plenty of us bus nuts lol, glad you got the Merlin there looks great with the Atlantean, credit for all the hard work you put in to them both, they look great. I've over a thousand bus models i collect anything to do with buses/ coaches all over the world ive room full of bus items. I use to own an Atlantean Manchester one so I know the cost, work goes in to them
Apart from the radiator they looked great. I actually loved the way the bus museum had the retro tow truck get you there. Yep sucks about the failure, but maybe they're right with the idea of a modern themo fan.
So Harry decided to crack the shits & go incontinent! 💩💦 He won’t know what’s hit him when he gets gussied up with that new radiator, Steve. Your hard work on both buses has been a tremendous effort. I’ve appreciated your content & have learnt quite a bit. ❤️ Love your work, Steve 🍻🙋🏼♀️
Evening Steve. Bugga bugga bugga. What a way to clear the moths out of a wallet. Says a lot to get under "Harry" so soon and to carry on. 👍👍 Was looking forward to meeting you and enjoying the buses but unfortunately didn't make it. Dave
I really enjoyed your episode their Steve, and I'm sorry to hear that you've had a really bad time with the bus breaking down. Hopefully, all works out again soon and for your next future bus fest.
Such a heartbreaker after all that effort getting the buses ready for Busfest. I feel your pain! Best wishes getting the Merlin up and running again - and what was its LT fleet number?
I would have loved to head down for Busfest this year, But with the change of date it clashed with a Charter I had booked. By the time I finished the Work Diary / log book said no, To be able to do the 400km Port Macquarie to Sydney Drive “Legally” to get there. Hopefully next year I’ll be able to get down with “Vivian the Volvo” my 1993 Volvo B10M (Ex Grenda’s 53 / Ex Transdev 9116 they retired it in July 2023, I put it back into service in May 2024) As my original 1989 Volvo B10M (ex fleet mate of the south trans unit I’ve seen in the background think that was ex 92 mine was ex 94) but it blew its engine back in March and got donated to the SES for training for accidents like a certain one I won’t name that happened last year.
Youve done great mate. Good to catch up at Busfest too. By chance mate you know that rear licence plate lamp that you managed to find, could you reply or text me a link to the listing if they still have some, am after one for one of my buses too. And your right they are basically impossible to find nowadays! Thanks mate
sorry for yore terribull incident happened thies things are sent to try us never nice you gust keep on gowing waire you can do whot you can to keep her gowing get help waire can

Good to meet you. Bit of a blow, but brilliant effort to have them there. They looked great.
Yeh, obviously a rough day for you and the Merlin. But you got both buses to Busfest, so that was a win. Well done, they looked great in the hot sun!
cheers! Yes we will rebuild.

Bus wankers you mean though I’m not THAT into them 😂

yeah it was a good photo opportunity! And yeah the thermo fan is a good plan
Seeing him on a semi trailer was quite a sight as well. No longer a need to see it again though.
So Harry decided to crack the shits & go incontinent! 💩💦
He won’t know what’s hit him when he gets gussied up with that new radiator, Steve.

❤️ Love your work, Steve 🍻🙋🏼♀️
I’d be curious to know the temp readings with a thermo fan(s) installed.

Heya Steve, shame to see the Merlin get towed out. hopefully it should be back up and running soon

Such a heartbreaker after all that effort getting the buses ready for Busfest. I feel your pain! Best wishes getting the Merlin up and running again - and what was its LT fleet number?

Hi Steve
