    200 g butter (0.88 cups or 14.1 ounces)
    300 g all-purpose flour (2.4 cups)
    100 g icing sugar (0.8 cups)
    1 egg
    Filling:
    4 apples
    2 sticks of rhubarb
    Lemon juice
    Surface:

    200 g icing sugar (1.6 cups)
    400 g 30 % sour cream (1.7 cups)
    3 tbsp corn starch
    For painting:
    Apple jelly
    Baking: 160°C (320°F) 50 minutes, convection

    Very interesting recipe. Butter in crust making it rich. Sour cream in cake to make it moist. Apple jelly to add flavor enhancer. The scales are new to US cooks. Rather than grams we have cups. Certainly looks and sounds wonderful. Do you deliver? ❤ Originality at its finest. Thank you. 😊

    This recipe makes a very elegant looking cake. Though it may take a few attempts, instead of apples I’m going to try to adapt it with strawberries and rhubarb, because they both will be ready to harvest at the same time in my garden (in about six weeks here in northeastern US) - I am always looking for new ways to bake with them! My poor apple trees will only be in blossom at that time. Thank you for always posting new and inspiring recipes!

    Looks good, I'd par-bake and seal the pastry base before adding the filling though, just for a crisper base.

    Sieht sehr lecker aus , meine Mutter hat immer einen ähnlichen Rührteigkuchen gebacken. Ihr Rezept enthält mir aber viel zu viel Fett. Ich backe mit mit einer Hälfte Naturjoghurt oder Magerquark, auch im Teig kann man problemlos weniger Fett verwenden und dafür etwas Milch. Trotzdem vielen Dank für die Anregung und weiter gutes Backen.
