There is this idea of "being the bigger person" in the west. Meaning walking away from a conflict so as to not "stoop to their level". I get the thought process behind it. But sometimes I really don't care about being that bigger person, I think they should face the consequences for whatever it is they did.

One thing that leads the dominant group to sympathize with the conquered group, is when the conquered group works as domestic help for the conquerors. When the conquered raise the conqueror's children, then these children of the dominant group become emotionally bonded to the people and culture of the conquered. Babies learn that their cries will be answered by the Irish maid and ignored by the English mother. As the child grows, they learn many things from the Irish maid. How to cook, how to take care of your clothes. What to say or do when you are bullied at school. How to handle emotional frustration and difficult situations.
The child sees that the Irish servants do real work and create real things. They know how to turn a sheep into a good stew and a sweater they know how to repair things at home and take care of the garden and the animals. They know tones of jokes, wise proverbs, songs, stories. They know how to dance and make music.
meanwhile, mom and dad don't seem to possess much understandable wisdom or creativity. Dad is something like a politician, property manager, banker, investor. The child is bored and confused by what his father does. Mom, doesn't do much besides buy things and dress in a fancy way. She also seems too competitive, catty and mean. As wealthy as she is, she doesn't look very happy. All of this will lead the children of the conqueror to have fondness for the conquered people, in some cases, the child will come to despise his or her own people and culture and take the side of the conquered.

As someone who has become a follower of stoicism the past few years to varying degrees, this is refreshing. Even though the main purpose of stoicism is to reach a state of human flourishing, sometimes the indifference is a coping mechanism that goes deep, so deep that you are unaware you are coping. A stoic may play psychological tricks on himself to make himself feel content when life does not go his way, which is definitely useful.. It can make you feel good in the short term, but over time if you do not fully disperse your will to power, stoic indifference starts to smell like a type of disguised slave mentality. You are merely passifying your deepest urges for short term tranquility, where in the long term, you cannot ever fully escape your mind's internal monitor of how powerful you are, which can result in bad moods, anger, etc.
I still love stoicism and some of you will probably say that true stoicism isn't about coping, and I agree that it's not. But no one on this planet is a perfect stoic, and our mind may have different rationalizations for following it to begin with that you are not even aware of.

I think stoicism is good for factors you can't control like natural disasters, diseases, artillery bombing on your city or entranched position during wartime.
But the thing is this doesn't apply to other people, because you can absolutely control how people treat you by teaching them to respect and or fear you, either through assertiveness or through force if necessary.
We used to call that "defending your honor" back in the old days.

I'd beg to differ on the indifference part. Let's stick with the slave morality idea.
Is it not he who is thrown about by the whims of the external world, by Fortuna herself, by the new neighbor or the eternal neighbor and his barking dog. Is it not he who is thrown around by these things the slave?
Well, you would say, the master would approach the neighbor and instruct him how to behave. But then you get on the road towards work and dozens of fools interrupt you. Are you going to step out and correct every one of them?
While there is some spectrum in the actions one can and should take, the baseline should be to not be a slave to external circumstances and be the master of your own wellbeing.
Is it coping? I can definitely see your point. The alternative is just not very attractive either.

    • @panananeu4394
      @panananeu4394 Рік тому

My conclusion on stoicism looks somehow similar. It looks nice on paper but in reality it's the philosophy of indifference that takes its toll. It can ruin your relationship with people, even affect your mental state. Stoicism is perfectly OK for someone who is alone (or lonely) in his life but not for someone who has people he cares about. It's a perfect philosophy for a monk lifestyle.

Now, continuing with my comment: In school I learned about the Western man going to the moon, curing diseases, making machines that fly and go to the deepest parts of the earth, and so many other kick ass things. Even now when I think of how the internet and smart technology (the dream of every civilization before ours), has changed THE ENTIRE GLOBE: it becomes hard for me to reconcile the gentle Giants I grew up admiring and the degenerates I've actually come to know. Example - Every backwater 3rd world country knows what a man and what a woman are independently, but somehow the world's 'greatest' nations have forgotten even this basic thing. It's like meeting your idol and realizing he/she is a schizophrenic crack addict. It completely shatters your reality.
But still, I'm rooting for you guys. I look forward to seeing this new generation of men who have woken up from the mind control and brainwashing. I have this vision that in the future my kids and your kids will work together and make the entire world better (and not just a few isolated nations winning at the expense of everyone else). We have the technology and manpower to make it a reality. Seeing creators like yourself put out such visceral and potent content fans my hopes from a spark into a flame.
We (the entire world), are at the tipping point and we'll either plunge the entire race into another dark age or we'll soar again and rise higher than any of our collective ancestors could have ever allowed themselves to dream. We will do it.

I am a young man (21) and I have always loved philosophy since I first studied it in my third year of highschool, but only after I started going to university I understood how applicable to modern society it is. It is shocking how these great thinkers had already seen through the root of society and were able to predict how we would deteriorate over the centuries.
To be honest I was never ashamed of what my country (Italy) did during its attempts (though mostly failed) to colonialize others, this world has always been one in which the strong pray on the weak, no matter how much people try deny it. Of course, this doesn't mean I loved the Holocaust or anything like that, I can disagree with past events without feeling any shame about them simply because I am person with a, thankfully, working brain, capable of critical thinking.
Since the done of humanity conflicts have always existed an they always will, because people are selfish and act on their own interests. These people who cry about colonialism would have likely done the exact same thing had they had the chance, and, in a sense they are already doing it by trying to shame us white/European people.
The most important thing to remember is that this idiots only have so much power a we grant them by listening to their nonsense.
To say it as Nietzsche would, "amor fati" my friends, what happened made us who we are today, it was because of that needless cruelty that today people (idots pretending to be functional human beings include) can go to college and have the freedom to spit out their tripe.

Preying on "weak" people is weakness in and of itself. Strong people don't need to conquer in order to satisfy their egos. True strength doesn't just involve physical might either. Strength of heart and mind are essential. If you are missing one of those three you cannot truly claim to be a man of strength. Another thing true strong men do, they battle their own size/weightclass or above. Especially when you combat a force stronger than you it is the ultimate display of masculinity and power. Picking on physically weak targets instead of helping them to be the best version of themselves is beta behavior.
As for your country (or any European country for that matter) and the history of doing terrible things. I'm not saying you need to walk around feeling guilty but to publicly brag about being unashamed of atrocities will quickly get you diagnosed with antisocial personality disorder by a psychiatrist. A normally functioning person in 2023 doesn't feel proud of any persecution, genocide, colonization etc that their own country/culture wrought upon innocent people in the past. That simply doesn't happen unless you yourself are antisocial enough to commit such acts. It shows in how you assume that other cultures would have done the same. That is textbook psychological projection.

It’s also not coincidental that when Rome reached the physical limits of it’s potential growth based on the technology of the day it began to collapse spirituality. When men lose even the possibility of a frontier, slave morality sets in. It is much the same in the current wave of civilization…once the western part of America was fully colonized by the end of the 19th century we saw the rise of socialism, the federal reserve, Keynesianism, etc…
We face a unique problem today in that all of the lands of the earth are known, mapped, and owned by some collection of humans.
All the philosophy in the world can’t make up for the lack of a frontier. The only way to save humanity is to push forward into dangerous frontiers like ocean colonization, Antarctic colonies, and eventually space.
Notice that we were only able to exit the Middle Ages once the age of exploration began.
If we fail to reopen a frontier soon, humanity will self domesticate into permanent worthlessness and it’s hard to see how we’d ever get out of it.

There is another thing to consider. That is, wealth inequality driven by the West's shift from having an economy based on industry to an economy based on usury. Industrialists want the population to have money to spend because without the masses having discretionary spending, THEY can't make any money selling products to the masses. When the wealthiest people were industrialists, they created a society where people had their own house and car, and they had lots of children. They were persuaded to work hard and acquire lots of stuff. Large families ensured that the supply of workers and consumers would keep growing.
But, then the banks were deregulated and allowed to pursue predatory lending, and to create fake financial "assets" that people saving for retirement unfortunately bought. When their house of cards collapsed, central banks bailed them out at the expense of the rest of society. When wealth comes from money lending, there are winners and losers, unlike an industrial economy where everyone is lifted up. The factory workers makes less than the CEO but, he is still better off and the CEO understands that his wealth ultimately comes from selling to people like those factory workers. But, money lenders need a debtor class in order to make a living. So, a society where there is widespread wealth is undesirable. If a man buys a house and is able to pay off the mortgage and then pass the house down to his kids the banks will no longer make money on that property. The father will make monthly payments to them, but the son will not. So, what the money lenders want is a society where people "own nothing and are happy" they want a society in which almost everyone is their slave and they are happy little eunuch slaves at that who live seeking vicarious pleasure from making their sneaky, usurer-master happy.
So, here is another reason why many people in the West are identifying with the losers and the slaves. They ARE losers and slaves themselves. They have been colonized by the international bankers would control the fake digital money that they work and sweat for. They are looking toward people from the global south, to find out how to cope with this reality.

Mostly British, but I’m also descended from a daughter of two freed slaves here in America named Fannie May Brauner. She was a land owner in Georgia and my father’s family goes back centuries here in the southern states. I think that’s why the music I create has so much soul. So there is something positive that comes from art created by the downtrodden. You could use some more soul in your tunes, so dig down in those Irish roots and create something beautiful. What amazes me is the Europeans in the 14th and 15th Century were so rugged, those People literally left their Countries, came to the New World (the American Continent), which was full of hostile Native American Tribes, and started Colonizing the entire freaking Continent, building a completely new Civilization from the Ground Up.
Imagine, leaving everything behind, going on a 6 month journey across the Atlantic Ocean, not knowing what dangers and obstacles you will face, settling on an unexplored continent, and starting Life all over again, while at the same time you know that you won't ever be seeing your old Friends or Relatives who choose to remain in Europe.
It's easy to move from one Country to another Country in the 21st Century, because we have Air travel, we have the Internet that allows us to connect with our Friends & Family back Home no matter where on this Earth we are. But centuries ago, majority of the People would not have balls to make such bold moves of leaving their entire Life behind.
And not only that, the Europeans who came to America Colonized the entire Continent, and created one of the greatest Empires in History of Humanity, the United States of America. Granted our Culture is so pathetic today with all the weak People, WOKE-Ness, modern day Feminism, and Political Correctness. But still, the Europeans who conquered the Americas were some of the most fiercest of travelers and explores in recent times.

I remember when BLM started in US. Like one year after that some local NGO's and facebook influencers funded by EU and Scandinavian countries (the ones who fight for equality of everything what's not white and masculine) started to mention this in local context in my country, in a former Soviet union country, where 99.99% of people saw black people only on TV until the end of the 90's when finally the tourism to western Europe became a common thing. We had no colonies, we had no slavery, more than 50% of people in this part of the world were villeins until mid 19th century (1864). Yet these "equal rights" activists decided that we somehow are guilty because white skin. So they started to organize some demonstrations to honor George Floyd. And during these demonstrations at least hundred of girls of age 13 to 20 years were kneeling in the street. this was the moment when I realized that we're doomed. This is the end. The society and civilization is doomed to vanish if it feels guilty for deeds of people on the other side of the world. It was shameful to see all those girls on their knees and few black dudes (we have few students from all around the world in our universities) walking in the lines among those girls as if they were some kind of watchers. The western culture is the culture of remorse. The Eastern and Muslim cultures are the cultures of guilt. The guilty ones are meant to be punished here and now. The remorseful one are doomed for their entire lives.

I honestly have always hated how these larger cultural forces steam roll the will of the individual: it feels like every individual who has done something worth while has had to wrestle against the times and his own background to stand out and succeed in his/her own calling. I guess that's the price you have to pay to be good at something, but it'd be nice if you didn't have to fight the whole world to be someone.

You need to release these as podcasts, so I can listen to them while taking long walks.

I resonate with the way that mind of yours works. In so many ways it feels as if you are reading my biography.
