There was talk recently about improving the access to Stanlow and Thornton to allow people to get to Cheshire Oaks, possibly through a new station. I doubt it would ever happen.

I agree with Geoff's London Underground comparison. If you ever see pictures of the old Class 503 trains used on the Merseyrail network, they look even more like a London Underground train.
You missed Some stations in Scotland From Motherwell platform 3 Dalmuir Via Hamilton. :Airbles, Hamilton Central, Hamilton West, Blantyre, Newton, Cambuslang. And all of the Cathcart Circle.
Merseyrail is one of my favorite urban rail systems in the UK and the Wirral is wonderful place. Your film captures the essence of both very nicely. Kudos!
Because of the new 777 battery-electric trains, Mersey proposed to extend the Liverpool-Ellesmere Port to Helsby interchange, meaning Stanlow and Thornton station will be accessible 4 times each hour. Ellesmere port station would then cease to be a Merseyrail terminal. But may be one for Ellesmere Port to Warrington trains run by Northern.
Jugging on what you have shown in this video, you have been On The Wirral (across Ther River Mersey from Liverpool) yet in Merseyside, you ventured into Cheshire = Stanlow&Thornton Ellesmere port, Warrington and had a short clip in Liverpool when you mentioned The Mersey Ferries ... when you were on The Wirral and mentioned Birkenhead Part Station opening in 2014, that was the Re-opening after an update of the station ... what you said about Birkenhead Park is very true!
Merseyrail are currently trailing the new trains, 4 carriage units instead of 3, the plan is to extend the terminus to Helsby from Ellesmere Port by using battery powet. The timetable will not change as there will be a quicker acceleration from stations.
Hi Geoff and Vicki I have started to watched your videos and really in joy your videos and I think it is really good what you do thank you so much for what you do from bingo 2020 West Bromwich 😊😁😀👍💯
You managed to get 156461 on the Ellesmere Port to Helsby Line, the same unit I had on that line. It's got an advert for the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway on it!
Great idea to reprise All the stations. Waiting for more Far North line. Fearn, my local station, needs a Harington hump. In the car now. Pining to be back on rail.
Currently in that area working, make the short commute from Liverpool James Street to Birkenhead Park, catching either a West Kirkby or New Brighton bound train. Tbh im not a big fan of either the class 507/508's
Hi Geoff and Vicki, the song "Homeward Bound" was written by Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel on the platform at Widnes Station, You know the one that starts; "I'm sitting in this railway station, got a ticket for my destination,,,," I'm told it was written in the days when the pair were unknown and making their way by train from gig to gig by train across Britain. I'm told there is a plaque at Widnes to commemorate this. Is this true? Is it worth a special All the Stations? Are there other stations connected with popular music? Waterloo Sunset comes to mind?
Depends on your definitions, and I can't promise whether these definitely do all still have freight services, but the list could include: Fowey, Okehampton, Ludgershall, Hythe (Hants), Dungeness, Nelson, Hirwaun, Coalville, Ashby de la Zouch, Swadlincote, Brierley Hill, Wednesbury, Aldridge, Willenhall, Staveley, Middlewich, Maltby, Market Warsop, Ollerton, Stocksbridge, Immingham, Ashington, Bedlington, Blyth, Grangemouth, Rosyth, Culross. In some of those cases, the routes could sensibly be used for passenger services as well, but not all.
There was a guy in the video who was ok with being in it but then told them to take it down for some odd reason. It's a whole messy drama not best to get into...
All The Stations 2017 remake in 2020. And when the Class 777s do start service on Merseyrail from next year. I would think that there could be a farewell tour of the Class 507 and Class 508. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merseyrail en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_Class_777
When you were at Stanlow and Thornton station you were told that the public had access to the station from the road, this is not true, access is only avaible from oil sites road, a private road in the oil refinery, this road goes from Ellesmere Port to Ince, because of the fuel protest this road has been divided with security so you cannot drive from one end to the other, to access the station you have to go in via Ince end, this means you are not far from Ince and Elton station and it is a long drive from Thorton-le-Moors, this renders the station a unviable option.
Day 72 (Ep 40), but they just get on at Kirkby and off at Kirkdale, so there's no footage or mention of Fazakerley. There's a map on the website with the dates they were at each one.
