Just came across a barn find picked up a 1987 crown Vic LTD LX 33,000 original miles never driven in the winter non-smoker dual exhaust 3.55 posi rear end original owners owned this car for 35 years definitely a true survivor
Wow excellent condition!! Looks like a police package but it’s not. Very rare because the civilian versions usually had gaudy trim, wheels, and half vinyl roofs
why does the grill remind me of an 80's casio? i love it and i drove one once and it was incredible. when i played with cars as a kid i always love that shape.
@@bobbydixon257 Yep sure do, it's a family heirloom. It's sitting in my driveway waiting for me to do a 2 to 4 barrel conversion. I will have some cool stickers out with it soon 👍
Aww man this vid made me smile I’m working on one as we speak about to replace the alternator (got it for 400 bucks ) 60k miles 😇that one is beautiful tho
Glad to see I’m not the only one trying to keep one of these alive! I’ve gotta pick my project back up. Hoping to save up some money and break ground again before spring. Drove mine 300 miles back home from where I got it. Did fine! Only after I got it back did it start acting funny. Put a new set of spark plugs in it, changed the oil, the tune up necessities. It’s a breeze working on these old things and I absolutely love it. Hopefully by summer I can get the mechanical issues needing attention fixed. Got some gaskets to replace, needs a new fuel pump, and fix the alignment. but she’ll still run if you’re patient. Even as much of a beater as she is right now, she still gets looks. Feels great to own what is now like a piece of history. You just don’t see them anymore!
@@xavierwalker3645 That is awesome, super cool to start it off with a road trip too. Being able to actually work on it with normal people tool is such a bonus, that's one of the things I love about classics, good luck wrenching on your ride!
I had one just like this but vinyl top and a little rougher came out of Memphis TN the electrics where jacked from a ghetto sound system install but I loved it. So smooth. Had tinted windows. I usually had a s&w model 28 6” barreled revolver with me when out and about and for an early 20 year old I thought I was. THE SH!T. Lol I want another one but that was 2004 now it’s so old it’s not worth it unless your a mechanic
Haha dude that's a big ass revolver lol, I love it. Yea you have to find a good one, maintaining one is cool, but restoring one would be more trouble than it's worth unless its sentimental or something.
This is exactly the first car I ever bought. Not the first car ever had. My mom bought me a 1990s Ford Taurus station wagon. I hated that thing but when I was 18 years old I saved up my money and I used to drive by this used car lot and the guy had this exact. It was black with the vinyl top. The blue interior 89 LTD. Just like this one except it was a little bit rougher condition. Obviously bought it for $1,000. Had some electronic issues cuz the guy before me try to put in a system and kind of f***** up the electrics but once I got that resolved I love that car man it was great. I wish I'd never sold it. I sold it to a buddy because I had another vehicle at the time and rarely drove it anymore and I didn't really appreciate it cuz I was like 21 years old but looking back on it god I wish I had kept it. Sounds crazy but if I ever win the lottery I'm going to buy one just like this. Might even buy this one
Dude that was an awesome story to share, thank you. I really dug that car, to me it's the MIB car lol, but you can't beat those old cushy interiors. Far as the '90 Taurus, I feel ya, my first one was my grandma's '91 Accord. Hope you find a nice LTD hid away somewhere one day!
I purchased a 1989 Mercury Grand Marquis in dark blue metallic 50th Anniversary edition with only 67,000.0 miles in mint condition in January of this year. These are great ,comfortable cars !
Wow, I had my 1982 Crown Vic LTD blue. From 1982 til 2002 when I got my Chevy S10 pickup. Got 50 bucks toward the truck. Hated leaving it so many memories I wanted to take the backseat out. Like new. In 20 years, people say back there maybe 12 times.

Heck ya man, congrats on the find! Sounds like a cool survivor!
@@CLASSICSAREBETTER yes she is thank you very much
Do you have race between caprice and crown victoria
I'm such a sucker for anything older and low mileage and minty. Doesn't matter what it is lol.
Same here, also thought it would be a really cool sleeper with decent wheels and a supercharger lol.
Nice! Cushy-comfy cars! I'd be worried I'd fall asleep driving lol!
I did back in 2011 😂
@@cartoonfoxxx been there, done that!
Looks a heck lot like mine, only that's a base model and I have an LX, instead. Beautiful classic Crown Vic!
Thank you for watching! I really enjoyed filming this one. Was a neat survivor car not a lot of ppl think about.

Thanks for watching and for the info. I had no idea that the trim packages were so different.

Nice to see a base model crown vic. Rare find. Beautiful ride....

@@CLASSICSAREBETTER Does this base model Crown Vic come with a gentle chime or a scary buzzer?
@@Jac2Mac Honestly I didn't notice. I will have to ask my buddy, he still has it for sale.

How much $ ?
Hi Jim, I think he sold it for approx $5k and then i saw it on FB a few weeks later for $7k, haven't seen it come up again sir.
