95 signature series owner. Mine has some rust in areas but I absolutely love that car to death!! I bought it 2 years ago at the ripe old age of 19

My parents always had these panther platform cars and I can honestly say they are bulletproof. I regrettably got a ‘95 Chrysler Concorde as my first car but now I drive a real snazzy’07 Signature TownCar now. A V8 that does 240hp, tow up to 1500 lbs, and a has a real smooth ride with that air suspension to soak up all those potholes. You can’t go wrong with a panther platform 👍👍

Lincoln Town Car is comfortable, reliable, rear-wheel drive, and the engine performance is poor Cadillac Fleetwood & DeVille are comfortable cars and a powerful North Star engine, but one of the drawbacks of this engine is full of malfunctions and high temperatures. The biggest defect in Cadillac cars is that it is front-wheel drive. American cars are not perfect and lack many things. I think the Lexus LS400 is a good choice that combines reliability, comfort, luxury and performance

I had a couple of these over the years. My favorite was the 1991 version, first year of the 4.6. Performance wasn't blistering but perfectly sufficient for all the kind of driving one does in such a car and fuel economy was much better than the old 5.0 Liter version. That one was also underpowered but felt like it had more low-end punch due to a more "traditional" torque curve. The 4.6 was extremely smooth and quiet, though, nearly Lexus LS-like in refinement. The 1995 exterior freshening was pleasing and more contemporary, but the interior redesign was a dud in my view, looking much too swoopy and plasticky, out of harmony with the rest of the vehicle's design cues. That was the era when Ford was forcing bulbous oval shapes on everything in its line-up, whether it was appropriate or not, and even the Town Car got its share of "blobbiness".
These are getting hard to find with low miles and in excellent shape throughout. Many were - appropriately - used as frequent long distance tourers, racking up hundreds of thousands of miles. While overall build quality was quite good (MUCH better than GM's 1991-96 full size land yachts), some materials and detailing were less than stellar. Exterior bright moldings around windshields, backlights and in the bumpers were plated plastic, leading to yellowing/fading with age and the plastic bumper caps themselves, especially the rear ones, loved to warp, sag and discolor. Various of the cheaper interior trim bits, like side window defroster bezels or door pull straps also loved cracking, fading or falling off altogether.
But age-related wear and tear aside, these were wonderful cruisers with a buttery soft, silent ride that's completely unobtainable today in all but the priciest super-luxury sedans from the likes of Mercedes or Rolls-Royce. If you love that sort of motoring but are unable or unwilling to spend silly money for it, find yourself a clean, low-mileage 1990-97 Town Car. You won't regret it.

This variation of this generation and the very last variation of the very last generation are my two favorite Town Car iterations. Simple, but elegant. Spacious and classy, still body on frame and RWD with a V8, the last of its kind. This kind of car will be missed and talked about for ages as younger and younger folks start driving that didn't get to experience these land yachts of the old days. I can't remember if this one still had the pitman arm steering, but those are truly the last of it's kind.

The seats in the '95 to '98 are among the best for comfort. The panther body cars were never really about power and acceleration - their forte was longevity and ease of maintenance. Since their mechanicals were shared components and didn't have many changes over the years - parts availability is awesome.

I think it’s the way these cars float over bump and the constant bouncy motion. Otherwise I don’t usually get car sick.
