Sony soundbars have never been premium. These soundbars are targeted towards rich naive people. If I was Sony, I too would milk the Naive. it crazy how people are dumb enough to buy a $1200 sound bar, $700 subwoofer and $350 rears. I bet you a Sony's own core series speakers could beat this overpriced soundbar, and those speakers are considered "less premium" even though they are made better.
Can i pair the two wireless rear SA RS3S speaker on the previous model - Z9F? as this model wireless speaker has already been discontinued...

The SA-RS3S are only compatible with the HT-A7000. Availability of the SA-Z9Rs which are compatible with the HT-Z9F will vary by region, but here in the US they are available and can be ordered here: electronics.sony.com/audio/audio-components/hi-res-audio/p/saz9r
@@NeedForMichael999999 I can’t agree more, as a long time Sony fan, it has been very disappointing.
At 3:00 minutes in its mentioned VRR is required for games supporting the feature, can you please confirm if the HT-A7000 supports VRR on its HDMI2.1 passthrough and if its the same with the HT-A9? I don't see it on the specs sheets anywhere on both.
About time Sony, I needed a refresh of HT-ST5000, had mine for 3 years now, love it but it was problematic sometimes!!
Don't feel like the lone ranger. I have the complete Bose 900 system and it is problematic with the sound dropping out sometimes. I came from the 300 which I still have and it's problem was losing wi fi at times. Maybe this stuff is just too high tech to function properly.

Got a ST5000 the other day from Best Buy (Open Box) but it was never opened for $900. It has some quirks but in three years, the A7000 will probably be about the same for an open box. I'm cool hanging back a generation and stacking the other cash for more important things ... like gummy bears.

I have a HT-ST5000 and I have been waiting for a HDMI 2.1 passthrough soundbar with real surrounds.
Only complaint is that they did not choose for the surround speaker the same speakers Thant for the HT-A9 with 360 sound and up firing.

I just got my soundbar. I'm already having issues with sound cutting out... i thought maybe it was the hdmi cables but its doing it on the setup sound field optimization aswell which is making me think, it's a hardware issue
Hi, when adding the rear speakers does the system then become a 9.1.2 system and does it send the proper rear channel audio out through to them? Say I won’t hear background noises in the front speakers? Thank you
It of course isn't a real 9.1.2 system but the bars are active. In other words: it will realize that there are rear speakers and no longer send those signals to the bar itself. So yes, no rear sound from the Front.
Is the Bravia Acoustic Centre Sync mode only exclusive to 2021 models or can it potentially work with other Sony flagships which have similar screen/sound tech? (Ex. A9F, A9G, Z8H)
Does this sound bar have wall mounts or must it lay on a flat surface?
Hi Malcolm, thank you for your interest in Sony products. Currently, the BRAVIA Acoustic Center sync mode of the HT-A7000 is only compatible with 2021 BRAVIA TV models such as the Z9J series, A90J series, A80J, and X95J series.
And yes, this soundbar can be mounted on the wall using the supplied wall mounting bracket and it can also be lay flat on a surface. For the installation, refer to included Startup

What does it mean "integrated UI works with..." does it mean that my model Sony x90j will work as a acoustic center sync? Will it work as central channel at all?
I cry when I see the cost here in Canada for the bar..woofer plus two surround speakers is over $3k! Sadly more than my TV! Ugh Sony!

I've had this about 2 weeks. When i turn off the tv, the soundbar does not recognize HDMI-eArc when turned back on, and the sound defaults to tv speakers. I have pass-through turned ON in the soundbar menu. it's aggravating the only fix seems to be to powercycle the TV 3 or 4 times before eArc is again recognized by the soundbar
Hi Lou, we're sorry to hear about the issue you're having. Is the soundbar connected to a Sony TV? If yes, can you provide us with the exact model number?
And to resolve the issue where the TV defaults back to TV speakers when you turn on the soundbar, please follow the troubleshooting steps below:
-Disconnect the cables that are connected to the TV and the speaker system, then connect them firmly again. Disconnect the AC power cords (mains leads) of the TV and the speaker system from the AC outlets (mains), then connect them again.
-Enable the Control for HDMI function on the TV. Set [Setup] - [Advanced Settings] - [HDMI Settings] - [Control for HDMI] to [On]. The TV must support the Control for HDMI function. For details, refer to the operating instructions of your TV.
-If your TV is not compatible with eARC, set [Setup] - [Advanced Settings] - [HDMI Settings] - [eARC] to [Off].

I bought STR-DH790 receiver last week. I bought two pair of sscs5 and sscs8 center channel and sscse Dolby Atmos speakers. I am very happy with the purchase. I am using sscs5 for front left right and rear left right.
I have two questions:-
1. Can I add two center channel in series to have more dialogue clarity? Can I use secs5 as front left right in additional to center channel.?
2. I am using sscs5 for front left right. Is this good choice? Should I use sscs3 Tower speakers for front left right?

I have Sony x80j 50inch tv. I have setup my tv in bedroom in front of bed. Distance between tv and where we sit on bed for viewing is 8-10 feet. Which at Atmos soundbar should be enough for such a distance to enjoy immersive experience while watching Netflix, prime, Disney+. Please guide.

The recommended distance for comfortable viewing depends on the video or program you are watching, the viewing environment, and the physical conditions of the person watching it. When watching the TV from a suitable distance, we recommend to look away from the TV every now and then, or try watching it at a different viewing angle. Check the link for more details.

Currently the HT-A7000 supports HDMI 2.1 specifications with the exception of VRR and ALLM (Variable Refresh Rate and Auto-Low Latency Mode) at this time. However, this soundbar can pass-through visual and audio content up to 4K 120p / 8K. Sony is always looking to improve products to meet our customer needs. When and If we update the product performance, software will be auto updated as long as your product is connected to WIFI, or you will be able to download updated from Sony support site.
For the setup, absolutely, yes. The HT-A7000 7.1.2ch Dolby Atmos®/ DTS:X® Soundbar is designed to work perfectly in home when you use the auto calibration to setup the system. The HT-A7000 with built-in microphones does it all for you, intelligently measuring the position of each speaker, vertically and horizontally, and optimizing sound to your room. The HT-A7000 lets you enjoy Sound Field Optimization with or without optional speakers. Activate from initial settings or the home menu.
For your Xbox Series X, I recommend connecting it to the HDMI input 4 port of our BRAVIA XR A80J as it already supports ALLM out of the box for a smooth gaming experience. Then connect the HT-A7000 to the HDMI eARC port of our A80J to enjoy the immersive sound of this soundbar.

The HT-A7000 is 500 W for the bar alone and can be paired with 1 subwoofer at this time.
Have you tested the sound bar with the HT-A9 speakers? Wonder how that sounds together with the sub, too.

5:27 why glass on top? Will just reflect the light off the tv and be distracting.
I have been using Bose soundbars with glass top for years and when you are focused on your content the glare from the glass top is not a distraction.

4K 120 and 8K passthrough but what about ALLM and VRR ?
They do not matter only if you are on pc at which point you should use a monitor, as consoles lock themselves at 60 or 120fps they are not like pcs with a fluctuating frame rate, plus the ps5 does not even support vrr yet…

The HT-A7000 is only compatible HA-SW3 and HA-SW% subwoofers. For rears, only the SA-RS3S will work with this model. Hope that helps!

What is difference between HT-A7000 and HT-A5000.

For the main difference between these two models, the HT-A7000 has 7.1.2 channels, two up-firing speakers for overhead sound, two beam tweeters and five front speakers for wider surround and a built-in subwoofer for deep bass. While the HT-A5000 has 5.1.2 channels and X-Balanced speaker units to minimize distortion while the up-firing speakers and beam tweeters fill the room to give an ultra-immersive listening experience. In terms of input and output terminals, the HT-A7000 supports 2 HDMI inputs (1 eARC/ARC) Optical-audio input, Analog audio input (stereo mini), and USB type A. Hi K J, Thank you for the inquiry. The features specified in HDMI 2.1 are 4K 120, eARC, ALLM, and VRR. The A8H supports eARC/ARC in HDMI 3 input and this TV has 4 (1 Side, 3 Bottom) HDMI Inputs. To establish the connection to the soundbar, connect the audio system to the TV’s HDMI input terminal(HDMI 3) bearing the text “ARC” or “eARC/ARC. You can enjoy cinematic thrills at home. How did you miss upfiring rear speakers AGAIN?
I would think than utilizing standard rear speakers would be a better overall choice. It already uses upward firing speakers in the bar, alongside forward firing rear speakers that can be used in any home contrary to those with popcorn ceilings or vaulted ceilings.
The New 2022 sa rs5 rear speakers for the ht 7000 and ht 5000 speakers have upfireing speakers and can be used without a power source for up to 10 hours

Only XR is capable of showing Bravia Core it's potential. That's kind of the reason why it's XR exclusive 😅

Sony was leading in every way but is falling far behind Samsung, nakamichi and others as far as soundbar goes.
DAMN SONY! the SONY HTST5000 is still legendary, owned it since 2017 and is amazing not only on sound quality and power but, because the materials and speaker quality was beyond amazing! its too bad you guys never implemented rear speakers, but still sounds fantastic without them... but then you come out with this BULLSH*T that looks super generic and doesn't even come with a subwoofer... A F*CKING BOSE CLONE with that exterior lol

This will be as unreliable as the HTST5000. I have the HTST5000 and the HDMI inputs have stopped working after 1 year. It’s been only 1 MONTH since my warranty expired but Sony support would not repair it for me anymore. I was just told to go to the service center and have to pay $400 for the repair

For the rear speakers, do they have to be the exact distance/position/height mirrored with each other? Or can they be significantly different and the Sound Field Optimisation adjust accordingly? Am asking as my entertainment room has a built in cupboard on the back left side so the back left speaker will be higher and further than the back right.

They do not have to exactly mirrored, simply place where you can in your room and the sound field optimization process will do the rest to make sure you have an immersive experience!
