@@raghibphotography Hey Ali Raghib, We had a theater in my home town of Magee,Mississippi back a few years ago and I actually worked there for 3 months tearing movie tickets before it went out of business.. For now it is to be remodeled and opened up as a children's autism mental facility.. But yes the theater was my very first job and if I ever wanted to open up my own theater one day, where would I buy my theater seats and how would I get the latest and greatest movies? I know they are displayed on a projector, but how do they get there? How big should your basic theater in a small town be? The one in Magee was 7,500 Square Foot and featured a three screen cinema and arcade with mostly claw machines and pinball machines when I worked there.. The theater movie rooms were color coded, blue, red and yellow and it corresponded with your ticket color
@@raghibphotography Also at the theater in Magee, we had popcorn and nachos and all that good stuff.. It was open in 1985 and closed officially just a few months after I started working there as the year was 2010.. For 13 years it was left abandoned

I love the attention to detail in making your space perfect. Unlike other setup videos that just focus on a cool look, you worked hard to optimize for a true theatre-like (or better) experience.
Thank you so much!

Dude, the thing I love about your AV setup, is you dont have a half dozen amps on your rack... You have a nice size room, & I know those Klipcsh speakers kick out serious sound.
Which just shows that all those amps people have are just overkill. You really can have nice sound without all that.
Kudos to you good Sir for your nice theater 🙏🏿
Looks fantastic! There must have been some insane back and forth communication as well as effort with the electrical team to get such a detailed and custom layout executed to perfection like this..😉
Hahaha and this is the Man who was hired to do all the electrical work in the entire basement! The AV Rack wiring, lighting, and cutting out all the holes..long list lol
Great job done my man!

Nice set up man. My friend has a monster set up with Bryson and Martin Logan speakers. The sound is like anything I’ve ever heard before. Room is incredible. You're clearly put time and passion into it. Most important thing about any home theater (or anything else for that matter) is who you share it so until they make a seat that is double wide so my dog can curl up against me like he does on my leather sofa, will have to pass on those :)

Amazing setup and explanation, if I see this 2 years ago I would have designed my theater much better :) And overall your basement looks awesome.
A couple of things:
- Can you please explain in detail how you did for Ceiling Fiber optics lighting?
- Details about the door - more details on how did you do with the black fabric, etc?
Thanks Ragu!
I am working on another video to help others who are designing for the first time! So please subscribe and spread the word :)
1. Ceiling fiber optics were done on MDF sheets. Just bought a motor off amazon that is easily accessible and replaceable. Drilled each and every hold to achieve a custom pattern on that MDF and sticked the lights through. It was a very long tideous job. Took almost 5 days but totally worth it! I didn't want to pay someone double the cost and most were doing it with fabric. I am glad I went with MDF it makes it more shiny too.
2. Door was also custom. Have some experience in family who make restaurant booth chairs with tufting style using the gun. So first we worked on a small piece of vinyl (leather look) wrap and made a sample using different type of buttons... When we got comfortable and were satisfied... we decided to do it on the whole door ... Im actually amazed how well it turned out!
Thanks for the response with details Ali,
For the ceiling fiber optics lights, I wanted to do it as you did. Since I was doing it for the first time and my theater room size is bigger 15W X 26L, so I did two round shape ceiling fiber optics lights. I will make a video and share it with you.
Hey man how's the star light coming?
I made another video.. Hopefully you enjoy this one too! Here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/uZaoL3-UZPU/v-deo.html

Thanks, Jay. I put more videos of the man cave, too... I'll make a full one just if the basement next :)
Great video. I love to see how nothing turns into something. How long did it take to build?
Thank you! It took approximately 6 months from start to finish. Theater, Washroom/Plumbing/Full Kitchen, 2 Bedrooms. And all the living space and getting all that electrical work done right and certified. Almost 2500 sq.ft...My entire summer basically lol
@@raghibphotography 2500 sq ft. Unbelievable! I wish my basement was half that size.
Hey buddy! I made another video.. Hopefully you enjoy this one too! Here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/uZaoL3-UZPU/v-deo.html

I never thought of creating the movie theater atmosphere in the hallway with the decor, snack bar, and everything else. That's next-level.
I don't want to think about how much this must have cost.

Beautiful theater and very nicely done. One thing I noticed at the 11:35 mark is your AVR is in eco mode. It's typically recommended not to use that since it could be robbing you of power when the speakers demand it.
Thank you! And omg really??? I have been using it like that since day 1🤣🙈Does it really effect the sound?? What does it actually do?! I thought it was just for heating purposes to use less power and I was saving electricity🤦🏾♂️
@@raghibphotography it's probably not extremely noticable especially with efficient Klipsch speakers but might as well let the AVR run all out. Gene at Audioholics has done a video or two on this. If I can find it I'll link it here.
@@Darkside_C7 Awesome! Thanks for the info buddy and yes do send me the link. I am going to turn it off today and watch a movie to see a difference
@@raghibphotography ua-cam.com/users/shortsMjyybxwdbrY?feature=share
@@raghibphotography It only affects the sound when driven hard and ECO then limits wattage to the speakers. However, if you run the speakers at volume levels of around 70% then ECO is just fine. ECO has another serious advantage in protecting your amp capacitors from overloading and reducing their efficiency. ECO Mode will protect your AVR in the long run. Your money your choice :)
Omg this is amazing!!! I would never leave
haha thanks Devin!! Here's part 2 of the movie theatre if you haven't seen it already. I will post a link..

Awesome theater 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks man! Made another video today... Hopefully you enjoy this one too! Here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/uZaoL3-UZPU/v-deo.html
Very cool theater! I agree with some other posts, I would get an external amp. The sound quality and power is just so much better. Plus it reduces load on AVR so that it lasts longer. I only have a denon 3800H, but the extra amps made a huge difference.
Thanks for the tips Chris! Yes, I will be doing some homework on it:)
Good luck and i hope it blows you away! you have an amazing room!
I have your same receiver. What are you using as your external?
i just went with an emotiva BasX5 5 channel for bed layer plus one of those fosi amazon 1 channel amps for $50-100 for my bass shakers and wired series. I would have loved to power my heights with another external amp but i dont have the space. But i like emotiva gear, it is good quality, affordable gear.
Also, amp and power obviously depends on your needs, speakers and size of your room. My room is 9x12 feet, so a small amp is all i needed, i dont have speakers that need a ton of power, so thats why i went with a budget amp, it gets the job done.
My phone paused the video when he said Hey Google
Lol. im sorry !
That looks so good omg
Thank you Mike
love it
Thank you so much!
great job getting the most important things right from the beginning rather than putting tons of money into the gear rather than the room - you can always upgrade the gear but you can't upgrade the room without starting over
Thanks man!!! First person to actually understand what I keep saying below.. lol it's just an entry level for those who are starting out. By no means it's the high end stuff here. The wiring is done. The upgrading will be easier but the room/layout and everything else in the basement can't be changed. I had no bedrooms/kitchen/Plumbing or anything down there. It was a giant empty space. Thank you for your comment:)
@@raghibphotography absolutely - this is how i advise my clients all the time. most people building home theaters or 2 channel systems want to simply throw all their money to the gear but high end AV equipment without a properly built and treated room does not yield results that are anywhere near as quality as those from a room done right with modest gear.
The only way to do it right man! I agree 100%. I made another video and talked about what you said in it. Hopefully you enjoy this one too! Here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/uZaoL3-UZPU/v-deo.html

I don’t understand why you need an acoustically transparent screen if the frontal acoustics are not behind it! In my opinion, this is a mistake! The screen looks like a ratio of sides 16: 9 {1.78: 1}? Or maybe it would be better if 2.35: 1?
Actually I was only putting the centre channel behind the screen and getting two towers to put on the side. I had already got the screen and later I realized that towers would be too low. I am actually upgrading my screen to a 135 or 150 with a 2:35:1 scope. So the front speakers will no longer be seen. This was the final look but I wanted to show what I have and maybe give everyone am idea when they are planning. But yes I could have gone with a normal screen too but wouldn't be able to have the centre channel behind the wall.
This is math. Based on your main listening position, you’ll position your speakers a given distance apart to get a good sound stage. Beside that, the second piece is about the center channel height, which he explains.
What he has done here is not a mistake and, in fact, the correct way to do it based on what I’ve seen in his room and the room dimensions.
Fantastic, love your style...
Thank you, Rob! Have you checked out my other videos?? I made a part 2. 3... more videos are coming soon!

@@raghibphotography Thanks Ali
Amazing video! Great job putting it all together. I know it's a lot of work but you managed to pull it off extremely well! How well did the Sonopan panels work? After all is said and done, are you able to hear the sound from outside the movie theater room? Whether it be upstairs or downstairs at all?
Thank you Noshir! Not many people realize that. It was a full DIY job and I am super happy with the way it turned out. Again; not perfect and professional but does the job :)
The acoustic panels I made myself in the garage. 100% they help a lot! Big difference I noticed. It helps with the echos and it makes the room more alive and completely got rid of any echos.
The actual soundproofing (sonopans) work amazing. That is the green stuff. I feel the vibration from the subs. If you are going to be watching Avengers or movies like TopGun/Interstellar.. There is no way that you won't feel the vibration outside of the room. There is no way to reduce that lol. As for the sound... 100% soundproofed. If someone is standing at the door... You cannot hear them. I never hear dialogues outside of the theater room... Hope that helps?
