It was this video that made me go out and buy a bunch of harbor freight ammo cans, and I couldn’t be happier. Till this day I haven’t seen a more extreme torture test on an ammo can yet, Thanks brotha😎👍🏽
Pat Martinson thank you. We tried to make this enjoyable becuase there are soo many boring reviews . Stay tuned for the follow up on the can after months of use and new Torture Tests!
Bought 2 from harbor freight, after going to 2 military surplus stores and both wanted over $20. Rusted, dirty, beat up junk. I laughed and walked out of both stores. They will be holding on those for awhile. Harbor freight cans are almost exactly the same. I will buy more from harbor freight..
I just bought one, but from Walmart, for $13. I can guarantee you it is made by the very same company that makes those $16 ammo cans for Harbor Freight. I was about to go return it because I didn't think it'd be as good as the authentic one from the military. But after seeing your video, I think I'll just keep it.
I'll add a final note to the tests. They are steel, not aluminum. I bought a few from HF and tested with a magnet. Sticks. Just like the authentic one I have beside them.
I had no idea HF sold these. I appreciate you showing this and sacrificing your own so we don't have to lol. Now I can stop using a one gallon paint can to hold my Parks 50 for "safe" (non-plastic bucket) quenching and storing and go grab one of these bad boys. I can finally be confident when quenching knowing I have enough volume in there for sufficient heat dispersion. 😎👍. Thanks man! 😉
Yes, but how does it hold up when full of ammo in a blazing fire? I'm presuming it will contain the majority of the rounds as they cook off, and any that somehow escaped because the lid popped up would be very low velocity.
That was going to be Bubba's next video, but he unfortunately was unable to get it completed before he blew off his leg by filling an old riding mower with Tannerite and shooting it from about 35 feet! That made an interesting video as well... In it you can hear him exclaim... "I blowed off my leg!" I think I will pick some of these up myself, they look to be good cans and I don't care where they are being put together,
It definitely will. I've also seen people put tools, flashlights, and a little kit in case of emergencies and leave them in their cars. Its great to protect whatever you need stored away.
i purchased one of these to put some valuables in, If it gets caught in a fire should i be worried about popping open the lid because of built up pressure?
Paul Falcone lol ohhh! I would say after it’s cooled down you can handle it. The pressure will go away when it gets back to room temperature, but I’m sure it’ll cook whatever is inside. Depends how bad the fire is I’d say. If its burning for over 10 minutes in intense heat, I’m sure any perishable (like paper money, documents, etc.) would turn to charcoal.
I just bought one as well from my local Walmart for a bit over $13 and I can almost guarantee you that the very same company that made those cans for Walmart is the exact same Chinese company that made the cans for Harbor Freight. I was thinking about returning it & getting my $ back & looking for an authentic one. But after seeing this video, I think I'll just keep it. As a matter of fact, I just might buy a few more. My local Walmart has like 8 to 10 more of these behind a locked glass cabinet, which surprises me.
don stromberg I have a stack of 3 cans. The top is a military surplus and the middle and bottom cans are from harbor freight and all are filled with ammo

That was way too fun to watch.

Thanks for showing an awesome way to get rid of that annoying label!
Great review, thanks! There was recently a $9.99 coupon. Missed out so looking for it to pop up again...will buy with confidence now.
Appreciate the testing!
That’s really great torture test brother! I bought 30 of these cans and now I’m assured that it will last.

Need to water test again after beating it up. Okay. I see that you gave it a 2nd test.

I love this video. Play it at my funeral!!!
Sooner than later.
I'm surprisingly 100% dry
We could work on that.
MrApple's comment made me laugh a lil...not bad not bad..lol
I can change that

lsubslimed thank you for watching stay tuned for the follow up video and more testing after I use this can for the range for a few months
I just discovered this, thank you.
Has anyone ever pressurized one until it let go, I would be curious to see how much PSI one could hold.
Wow that is great quality ! Thank you for doing this .
Surplus are good but where I live at they want $22.00. I just picked some from harbor on sale $10.00 for what I need them for, they're fine. Thanks
SHIT, that was a real torture chest. I just bought three 2 months ago, glad to see I spent my money wisely.
I call ammo can abuse! 😂 Thanks for the great video.!
Thanks for this public service

How the heck do you lock this darn box without drilling it??
I bought one and just filled it with tools, figured it would last longer than a plastic tool box.
It definitely will. I've also seen people put tools, flashlights, and a little kit in case of emergencies and leave them in their cars. Its great to protect whatever you need stored away.
Damn those are some nice hands
I wish that they would make 30cal cans
Great video. Thank you
This video and music seem like it came from the movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off!
Excellent quality groover
I was going to buy one but then I remebered that there is a military surplus store near by so I was like Id rather buy it there but it was closed. 😞
Label on HF cans sure are a pain in butt to remove.
Yes they are
I paid $5 for one at HF and it was the best $5 i ever spent. I would recommend these. I have my 12g ammo and my 5.56 and they are amazing
Willy H woah how did you get them for $5?
...SOLD!!
& I'm now looking for my mailer of super coupons from the store.
Put weight in it before the drop test!
i purchased one of these to put some valuables in, If it gets caught in a fire should i be worried about popping open the lid because of built up pressure?
I think it would be fine and withstand the pressure but I didn’t want to risk losing an arm by doing something stupid 😆
Lol I meant after it survived the fire should I be worried about retrieving my valuables

Don’t need all the soul Cole music
The Costco boxes are better and cheaper priced
How are they better and have a "cheaper" price? Cheap means low quality. Inexpensive is the correct term.
Walmart sells one also made in china and its only $12.83

Remind me to NEVER buy anything at your yard sale!
😂 don’t worry I’m still using this thing!
what am i doing with my life
How many 7.62x39mm can fit in a single can?
I believe these cans can hold up to 1000 rounds.
@@SharpWorks Thanks so much.
Label didnt survive, i give it a 1/10
Ha, ha, ha! That was great.
$10 at HF with super coupon
Looking through my mailer now lol
wow. I mean damn it looked like you got that just to see if you could destroy it. It does prove that can is worth the buy.
Wow!
Their cans won't stack.
don stromberg I have a stack of 3 cans. The top is a military surplus and the middle and bottom cans are from harbor freight and all are filled with ammo
don stromberg I have a dozen of their cans and they do stack. I have them mixed in with my military surplus cans with no issues.
Yeah...................They do...
