Billy, I love your videos and your knowledge and expertise is extremely impressive. your choice of words is occasionally hilarious however. "oil gallery's" Very funny. you are a total badass as a tech though.
Plus another thing with these engines, people just make em out to be SO bad when really, treat them how you want to be treated. Treat them well, they'll take care of you!
Hey Bill. I've learned a lot from and greatly appreciate you videos. With a proper EGR delete, ARP studs and gaskets, regularly over maintained with rotella t6 5w40, Archoil 9100, OEM filters and coolant. Regular Delta temps under 10°F. I lost my rad fan on a hot day on the highway. Didn't know until I got into town and traffic. ECT went up to 94°C and EOT to 97°C for less than 10 minutes before I got home and shut down. Should I be concerned?
As long as it is above 20 degrees Fahrenheit, 15w40 CJ-4 or CI-4 motor oil should be ok. You may want to increase the oil changes or just change it after you worked the snot out of it for the month or so.
What if one has a lot of money and adds another radiator to the system of cooling and.. a expansion tank plus another water pump, an external belt driven one and a higher air displacing engine fan and have the egr coolant line hooked up to that heavy duty radiator with line and stop the line going to the egr cooler from the engine coolant but put that ford gold coolant you mentioned in the radiator that pumps egr gas through the radiator.
knightrider1545 You don't need to run a tune that smokes. Even with all the emissions deleted the 6.0 doesn't smoke much. (that's what I'm running right now)
+knightrider1545 that black soot coming out the tail pipe is way cleaner than the emissions on your gas fueled vehicle it just looks worse because it is a color
Hey Bill, just got an 04 last month been running great with no problems. Now all of a sudden disaster, really hard start....brief but significant puff of white/grey smoke and also white smoke from under the hood near or below the trubo. NOOO!!! It takes quite a while and a few cranks to even get it to start. What the hell is going on!? EGR has been deleted. Just looking for a little direction on where to start...turbo seal maybe? THANK YOU
Hey bill my dads got a 2004 f550 6.0 powerstroke. It only has 140000 miles on it. He tows with it and hauls a lot of wood in the fall. Can u use 15w40 oil in it or no?
i need to ask for some help... i dont know i this is your field but i have a 2005 ford f250 with the 5.4l triton and well it wont f'ing start it turns over then stalls idk whats wrong with it if you could help me id really appreciate it.
Never had a problem with a dodge.. I run mine hard and play even harder and it keeps on going. I have even tried to purposely blow it up a few times now.. still drive it to this day. Ran it for 12 hours with no oil or coolant to try and seize the motor just to put a newer motor in it.. and it still runs. Must just be luck I guess
Just don't buy a diesel....and buy a dependable Ford 460 big block. Rebuild it and keep on truck'in!!!! Diesels are nothing but money pits .......now please stop complaining about your diesel engines!!!!
That's our government for ya
I agree with you man! Go to your local drag strips you'll see and hear so many of these 6.0's tuned lean it ain't funny!

All diesel have to do the same emissions. Trust me they are all running a lot hotter then they used too.
