Our cat behaves the similar way when we sprayed scratch post with cat mint: rapid approaching, scratching and bitting, feeling playful (or sleepy) afterwards. Were there no such kind of cheating involved?

Can I just say, I have been re-watching a lot of your old old videos and, oh my gosh, it's so inspiring to see the video/youtube skills you guys have picked over the years, and just your amazing CONFIDENCE on camera. At the beginning you guys seemed nervous and a little unsure, but now you speak with such agency. It makes me feel so proud of you guys. Can we talk about that gradient? 😱 It's perfect. It goes from navy to purple to this maroon color and blends into the pretty pink perfectly and back again ❤️ it's so beautiful 😫
I use to have a kitty that looked just like Joob. Once he passed we couldn’t get any more cats because we had all become very allergic. It makes me so happy every time to see little Joob, especially when she’s so happy 🥰🥰🥰
I really love the gradient from the blue to the pink, and than back to blue! it's like a galaxy! Also it's stunning how you guys always make new things, in sometimes an entire new way, and you guys still always know how to make something cool out of it!!
I have watched you guys often and the reason I keep watching is the laughter, doing just anything together is so rewarding. Life together should be just like that....keep on enjoying the "little" things. Life is tough enough.

What's particularly neat about this project is that the only thing that one would have a difficult time on not having the particular tool they used is the interior cut on the legs. That's where Necessity becomes the mother of both Invention and Design because there are several different ways you could approach that. A miter saw would be finicky but could do that. Of course the old-school way with a mallet and chisel. A dremel would take time (and probably quite a few bits or blades) but would work. Or you could miter the sides of the platform to match the angle of the legs and use a through dado to connect the pieces. Which would bring a different, and distinct, look to the assembled piece (though the mitered edge wouldn't be that noticeable once wrapped).
5:00 Katelyn's russian accent out of the blue... 😍 As for the build, maybe an idea would be to hot glue the rope to the wood, that way Joob can really get her claws into it without the rope wiggling around as she tries to pull back. Like a cat tree's scratching post.
That came out beautiful. And I gotta say, seeing the improvement from your "Let's do this!" to your "Let's do this now that we have better skills and tools!" was really inspiring.
