Loved this video, question though, Have you thought of using your resin air vacuum while on the cement table shaker to help remove the bubbles from the cement? like put the mold in the pressure pot, then put that on the cement shaker table thing?
To keep the coffe table cheaper you could do just relatively thin layers of terrazzo/razzo to apply to a wooden table to cover it, you know what I mean?
That is what I thought. If you put some graffiti art on it or make it look like bricks maybe it would look pretty amazing, imo. They both look pretty cool, just very different styles.

The concrete one is actually very much my style. I'd definitely buy one. It would look absolutely amazing with some of my small trailing plants (rabbit's foot fern, creeping miniature African violet, gesneriad, etc) 😍
The "failed" pot looks really cool as a plant pot. Got that mix of industrial and worn out by nature vibe. Your faux-terazzo looks perfect! I hope the process scales up well into a table :D

From someone that works with decorative concrete.... Use powder color, use white Portland, be intentional with your vibration, and set your colored stones before pouring. Also cure the concrete as slow as possible. Fun episode guys!
I'm no expert but I've done some terrazo for fun and have a few notes in case you want to try and make the full table in the future! Firstly, you can absolutely use a regular orbital sander on concrete with a stone aggregate, just make sure you leave the cement to cure for a couple of weeks to ensure it is hard enough that it gets ground down at the same rate as the stone, and of course always wet sand! You can also buy white cement which will work a lot better with the pigments.
I 100% knew the concrete one would turn out the way it did due to the dry first pour and wet second pour. I think if you look up how to do exposed aggregate you may have a nicer result. My man is concrete technician and I've randomly learned so much over the years of listening to his work stories and pours we've done for ourselves, friends and family.✌️❤️

I just don't understand how two experienced DIYers like them could have thought in any universe that the concrete mixture they started with was at ALL acceptable to put into a mold.

i think there may be multiple ways to get the effect youre looking for. you can make the colorful pieces and do it mosiac style, set your coloful pieces where you want them and "grout" around them, then sand for a smooth finish. i also think you could just toss your colorful pieces on your mold (assuming its a flat surface) and gently pour your concrete/razzo over the top< once cured< demold and flip. sanding as needed. Also, if you are goint to re try the concrete< maybe making it slightly more liquidy< and pour in a bit at a time< tapping for a bit to get bubbles out then pour a bit more and tap again. im not sure if it would help. but in baking, you coat the thing you want to stay suspended (in baking it would be choco chips/fruit chunks. etc) in flour and that would help it stay suspended during the baking process. so maybe, coating the concrete chunks with more concrete mix before mixing it in wet concrete may help the pieces not sink?
That was fun! 😊 Two suggestions: a) You could try add white wood glue (pvac; it's acrylic and water-based, you should probably use a waterproof variety) to concrete to get a similar kind of mass as your sponsor product. b) You could mold-pour some resin to the failed pot and use it as a vase or something similar 😊

I think the concrete one looks cool, and it would look cool if the decomposed section could be filled with something contrasting like white cement or plaster.
If you use rapid set mortal mix its closer to white, since its not portland cement based. I used it to make a coffee table once and had to add a whole bottle of the graphite liquid dye to make it look like normal concrete again.
First off, Total Boat should pay you more. This was a glorious recommendation for their product 😂 Secondly, the failed one is a vibe. It’s giving post-apocalyptic planter.
The concrete one genuinely unironically looks good, it would not work at all for a planter, *however* I think it would look amazing as a set dressing for a miniature map (like for a Tabletop RPG)
Fun experiment! You should try making your own white concrete base. Grab a bag of white portland cement and some glass sandblasting media to use instead of sand, try a ratio of 2 parts sand to 1 part portland cement, then you can add up to 3 parts of large aggregate (glass chunks, rocks, or whatever). Probably pick up a little liquid fortifier too so you can skip out on wire mesh or rebar.
We just put bits of tile and broken glass on wax paper. Sometimes with a pattern under the wax paper as a placement guide. Run a torch over it quickly to soften the wax. Then we poured porcelain slip over the top. Let It dry until leather hard, clean it up with a bit of sponge and then fired it.
I actually liked the concrete one more but that’s because I studied Ancient Greek & Rome so half-broken structures are my aesthetic 🏛️ (Plus it reminds me of the ruins from Pokémon Scarlet & Violet).
i like the fail better cause it has a nice earth tone. you could like put like a mini rock collection around its base, add some fake moss to the edge withe small mini fake flowers scartters among the rock collection like a flower field. You could use some flora foam in the pot with fake moss on it to hide its looks. You could take fake flowers and build a nice boutique in it. As well as using it in a resin project.
I really like the concrete one actually. It's got a cool industrial feel to it and with the plant in it it makes me thing of like an overgrown old building
I legitimately want that crumbling one. Although I would recommend putting something over it to prevent it from crumbling further. Some kind of glue or epoxy. It's super cool looking as a planter though!
You guys didn't really give concrete a chance... the concrete should have been more liquid and the chunks were bigger and you didn't measure anything. 🤨❤
Our house had a terrazzo floor and it was built in the 60's. Ours was the 1st family to own it. It was a very cold floor and perfect for the Florida heat.
The concrete one looks cool in a delapidated way; It'd would look really good in an outside garden, where you work in concrete walls and broken flowerpots. Kinda deconstructed but arranged nicely.
I honestly hope you go for trying to build the full coffee table. This was a really fun video to watch and seeing how you two try and tackle a full-scale build with the Razzo would be really cool.
And thus Evan and Katelyn discover that concrete is extremely finicky about all its ratios and needs to be custom calculated depending on the particular type of project, volume of concrete and distribution, and even the exact timing of when it can be poured - and that's before you even get to the complexity of try to add embedded materials.

Im loving the concrete content! It gives a nice amount of variety! (And they’re so chaotic I can’t not watch them 😂)
Concrete one was my favourite!!
When you said grey Frosting it made me think of "try the grey stuff it's delicious. Don't believe me ask the dishes" from Be Our Guest (Beauty and the beast)
Katelyns editing is so funny and creative, all the good boy points to you!
For spreading thin layers like you're doing here, try an offset spatula! There can be a lot of crossover between kitchen tools and crafting tools.
This was a glorious recommendation for their product 😂
Secondly, the failed one is a vibe. It’s giving post-apocalyptic planter.
It’s so obvious that Katelyn has fun editing these videos. That little link hyah was SO funny. Blink and you’d miss it
I actually like the failed one! It looks like a ruin appearance that is good for medieval or apocalypse styles.
The Razzo worked so well! Wow 🤩
The concrete one genuinely unironically looks good, it would not work at all for a planter, *however* I think it would look amazing as a set dressing for a miniature map (like for a Tabletop RPG)
the one-eyed sander doing it's best on the avant garde pot really gets me
Fun experiment!
The concrete one is ready for the apocalypse. I really like it 😂
For what you wanted to make the Razzo is the clear winner just as a cool thing with a nice vibe to it the concrete is very good still
why do all of their experiments look tasty as some point in the process 😭😋
You can always tell when E&K are filming right before dinner.
I really like the concrete one actually. It's got a cool industrial feel to it and with the plant in it it makes me thing of like an overgrown old building
I LOVE the concrete one. Of course, you wouldn’t want your coffee table made like that - but it’s so cool for what it is.
For the field concrete one, you can also fill all the holes at with resin the sense of making a clear coat from the outside
The concrete one looks so post-apocalyptic and cool tho!!!
The concrete one is my absolute favorite! It gives me castle in the sky at the end scene vibes.
Can't wait for the intense chaos of making the coffee table 😂😂
Same😂
I legitimately want that crumbling one. Although I would recommend putting something over it to prevent it from crumbling further. Some kind of glue or epoxy. It's super cool looking as a planter though!
You guys didn't really give concrete a chance... the concrete should have been more liquid and the chunks were bigger and you didn't measure anything. 🤨❤
They used to do diy concrete all the time
Our house had a terrazzo floor and it was built in the 60's. Ours was the 1st family to own it.
It was a very cold floor and perfect for the Florida heat.
Katelyn can you please prank Evan for his bday and order him a fancy cake that looks like a rock 😂😂😂😂 it would be a hilarious flash back 🪨
The concrete one looks cool in a delapidated way; It'd would look really good in an outside garden, where you work in concrete walls and broken flowerpots. Kinda deconstructed but arranged nicely.
the subtle ChadChad reference at 22:20 made my day!
great video you guys! i looove the looks of them!!
I LOVE THEM BOTH! the razzo looks so cute but the concreet looks like dystopian and cool
another post another slay
I honestly hope you go for trying to build the full coffee table. This was a really fun video to watch and seeing how you two try and tackle a full-scale build with the Razzo would be really cool.
im sorry, how tf did that concrete just jump out of the container like that at 16:27 ??? didnt realise we were defying the laws of physics
Honestly I really liked both. The jagged one just needed a little clear resin for structure and it'd be really neat!
And thus Evan and Katelyn discover that concrete is extremely finicky about all its ratios and needs to be custom calculated depending on the particular type of project, volume of concrete and distribution, and even the exact timing of when it can be poured - and that's before you even get to the complexity of try to add embedded materials.
I could use the failed concrete for some DnD boards or scenes I've got for crumbling walls or such
