BEATLES NOTICE.Hi guys, this video was blocked and now its been released. Please check it out.Its the Beatles with a song called I WILL..Brilliant
ua-cam.com/video/tH_BRtQkr7c/v-deo.html
The whole "Silk Degrees" album is great. Remember when it came out in 1976. It has a bluesy sound to it. You've done 2 of the most famous songs from that album "Lowdown" & "Lido Shuffle". Some other songs are "It's Over", "What Can I Say", "We're All Alone", "Harbor Lights" & "Jump Street".
One of the greatest albums of the 70s
I like them all, I love "Lowdown".. ♠W.G.
Silk Degrees sits in my Top 10 all time fav albums
“Georgia” and “Love Me Tomorrow” are also great from the same album.
It’s my top 5 albums of my life. I can’t commit to a #1 but Silk Degrees is a contender.
This whole album is great. 3 of the musicians who played on this album were founding members of Toto. David Paich (arrangements & keyboards), David Hungate (bass), and Jeff Porcaro (drums). If you are familiar with Toto and listen to this album, you'll pick up their distinctive playing styles (especially Paich's use of layered arpeggios).
They were also in the touring band that accompanied Boz during this tour.
They opened up for Jefferson Starship when I saw them in 1976.
Both bands on top of their game that night.
Paich also co-wrote this, Lowdown, What Can I Say and one more song from the album.
I remember this song blasting out at a pool party we had with my fellow employees from my summer job in the summer of 1976(?). Such vivid memories. Thanks for another winner, Greybeard! 🌺✌️
Lot's of great memories with this album ony end to. Glad you enjoyed it Deb!
I can never get enough of Boz..I have so many favorites but his song Love Look What You've Done To Me is stuck in my head right now..totally different and beautiful..oh and Harbour Lights might be my fave..keep going with Boz ya can't go wrong!👍
Yes! The live version.ua-cam.com/video/28V4iQwwNdo/v-deo.html
If you want another great song from him, We're All Alone. Totally different but beautiful.
I also like Harbor Lights
Boz hit gold with this timeless album...
Had the pleasure seeing the Boz live at Festival Hall Brisbane in 1980, it was just like listening to the record, perfect in every way!
Boz is the Buzz!!!
Brilliant album, and one of the rare recordings chosen by MFSL (mobile fidelity sound lab) for their stock of superior recordings on vinyl.
One of my most played albums of the 70's ❤️❤️
Daaaamn Greybeard! you are killin it lately with the suggestions!!
Great artist, with a library of fantastic songs, and this is one of the best!
Great reaction Harri!!
All my requests this month is about moments and music me and my Dad shared together. My old man was all about Boz! Harri would've loved my Pop, he could play the harmonica, and he would jam along with this groovy track! Oh the memories of hearing that. I got to hear "Lido" accompanied with harmonica. Glad you liked Harri my man!
Good tune you are right. Into any 60s stuff like The Bubble Puppy Hot Smoke and Sassafras Standels Dirty Water. Strawberry Alarm Clock. Incense and Peppermint The Count Five Psychotic Reaction to name a few. Grew up with that music. Good memories.
@@BeeLineEast yes sir, now you're speaking my language. Got into all those greats. Also like to mention band "Love" with there tendency for using psychedelia.
@@greybeard2280 Not familiar with that one Greybeard I just came across one on You tube by the band the Misunderstood Children of the Sun 1965. Pretty heavy stuff for back in those days. I'd like to see some reactors react to some of them Like Bubble Puppy Standels Blues Magoo's Music Machine to name a few. So far I haven't found any reactors do any of those bands. Alright man thanks for the reply. If Harri reacted to these he would be the first.
We connected on this subject a few days ago, but i wasnt aware that your suggestions this month were of that theme. Very cool.
I have an artist that i want to turn Harri on to, but again, not enough views of the video yet because it was just released. Check this out and see what you think. ---> ua-cam.com/video/prYNr8UferE/v-deo.html&start_radio=1
Great track from "The Boz". sponsored by Greybeard Music Man and starring Sir Harri. These three are a lethal combination. Well done and this song has lived on my playlist for years.
This is my favorite Boz Scaggs song.
I saw Boz and Steve Miller in 1969. We saw the Boz 9 times since and the most recent last October.. He is the man!!
Loved this song as a kid, haven’t heard it in years.👍🔥🎧
Thanks endless blessings to you and your family always, great reaction
Greybeard just hit it out of the park with this gem. Great choice Superstar. I requested a Boz song "Love look what you've done to me", from Urban Cowboy. It is off in the Ether somewhere 😭. Saw Steve Lukather with Ringo's all star band, who played on a lot of Boz's albums and of course Toto's and session work on hundreds of albums. A great musician for sure.
Anyway, fantastic choice. Boz is the Boss like Bruce. Greybeard and Harri, the Dynamic Duo. 👍🔥😉😎💞🕊️
JoJo should be the next tune by Boz-anything off the Silk Degrees album 💕
Holy crap! I've been trying to figure out who sang this for about 40 years. I listened to this song a lot as a child and every now and then, I'd catch myself singing it. (The parts I knew) Much like when you found "My Sweet Lord". Thanks, it's been driving me crazy.
I saw Boz a couple of times. The music was exceptional. Of course, his voice is instantly recognized and so smooth. Beautiful jazz-blues tune. As everyone has said, Silk Degrees was/is a great LP.
His back up band on this became Toto
Gotta give Boz more love brother.
Absolutely LOVE this song. Damn you're pulling out a whole bunch of songs I loved as a kid. AWESOME!!!
If you want another FUNKY Boz Scaggs jam.....react to "Jojo" !!! It's funkaaay !!!
UA-cam tends to be real "Lido" heavy; give "Breakdown Dead Ahead," "It's Over Now" "Harbor Lights" or "Georgia" a listen. Those are great too.
That sax is such a nice touch underneath! 👍
I haven't heard this in years! Great energy. Wonderful reaction Harri!
Jeff Porcaro on drums here laying down some great drum work. He of course went on to fame with Toto. He was a legend of the studio scene back in the 70's.
He has a lot of great songs, but this was the first I heard to introduce me to his music. Many years ago, but it still sounds fantastic.
Whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh. "It's Over' and "What Can I Say" were other hits from this album (plus Lowdown). They all cut through the relative dreck on the radio in 1976.
Currently binging your Boz Scaggs reactions. Love him so much and you for getting his brilliance. And you were right on the money with your initial idea of the character he sings about-a small time crook, always thinking his last score is going to be his last. At the beginning, he gets out of prison, and right away gets a ‘handle’ (large bottle) of liquor, probably in a boosted car, then heads to Chicago for one more score. Next his wife/girlfriend sends him a note to get his butt home and don’t screw up again, but he just needs one more score…
You ever hear a song on the radio when you were a kid and part of the melody or lyric is so good that you may not remember the song but you remember some piece of it. You never remember the name of the song or the artist. Fifteen or twenty years later you buy a greatest hits album and that song comes on and you just get jolt "That's that song!". That happened to me with this and "It Only Takes A Minute" by Tavares. I always loved that memory jogging. Unfortunately, I think I have used up all of my musical jogging.
You can safely fall deeply in love with Box Scaggs. I did.
First heard this in Kath & Kim show. Now I'm hooked.
David Paich of Toto also co-wrote the song with Boz
Had this album back in the 70's. Great stuff
Another vote for "We're All Alone" from the same album -- for a REAL change of pace. :)
You must now try Boz Scaggs’ song Loan Me A Dime … very bluesy and has Duane Allman playing guitar on it.
Yes!!! One of the best there!
Boz Scaggs always reminds me so much of Steely Dan.
Love Boz so much ! The guy has a fine singing voice. It sounds unlike any other and has great tone. Best heard in a couple of his stripped down lost-at-love songs “Sierra” & “Lost It”, when he sang slower and straight from the heart.
If it's Boz Scaggs, I give it a 'like' automatically.
Saw him in concert in 1978 at the University of Southern Mississippi. To date, still the best concert I ever saw.
Not many people know that Boz was a very close friend of Steve Miller growing up and was a member of Steve's band for many years before breaking out on his own.... so he got lots of practice with awesome muso's before his epic solo career....
One of those who parlayed a background in blues and giving the people something they mightn't have known they wanted into crossover success to varying degrees of longevity, repeatability. Elvin Bishop, Boz, Steve Miller, sure there's more. Fantastic track, great album, terrific artist.
There is a Boz Tune called CAN YOU SPARE A DIME, shows another side to his talents. The studio version had the lead guitar track by Duane Alman, later of the ABB.
Yessssss! 🙌🏼
Jeff Porcaro, later in Toto and some Steely Dan songs on drums. A true virtuoso. Check out the beginning of the track "Lowdown" on this album and you'll see what I'm talkin' about!
One of his best and most popular songs from one of the best albums of the late 1970’s!
I saw Boz, Fleetwood Mac and the Eagles in 1976 at Three Rivers Stadium. What a great show! Very hot summer day but it was well worth it. Very fond memories!
This one song just rocks
Great song!!!
Great jam yeah 🤘😆🤘🎸
The rhythm is a shuffle. That’s what the drummer is playing.
Harri, I forgot to say that a beautiful slow love song by Boz Skaggs is, "We're All Alone." It was also covered by Rita Coolidge, but she doesn't have the soulful sound Boz does.
I used to roller skate to this when I was a teenager
Hey Harri, Loved it! (that's all that needs to be said!) 😃
1 of my absolute favorite artists! Harri, please check out Boz Scaggs & Daune Allman, Lone Me A Dime great blues and soul! ✌🤘
Oh hell yes!!
A few years ago, we went to see a double-bill concert: Michael McDonald, and Boz Scaggs. We always liked Boz, but we were particularly excited about seeing Michael. Well.... it turned out we absolutely LOVED Boz' set, but we were a bit disappointed in Michael's set. Hearing all of Boz's hits one after another made us realize just how many he had, and how good they all were. (BTW, I think our disappointment about Michael was because we associate him with a lot of Doobie Brothers songs, but he must have been legally prohibited from including them in his show or something, because he didn't sing any of those.) Boz is much under-recognized these days, but he just has a terrific catalog.
True that Terri, so many people associate M.McDonald with the Doobie Brothers. I much prefer pre-McDonald Doobies.
@@michaellombard894 Yes, I know that many people have a preference for either "early" or "later" Doobs music. I like all of it, but I guess I it depends on my mood. Sometimes, the R&B/jazzy feel of their later work is just the ticket, but sometimes I adore the rock/blues influence of the early days.
@@talltulip . I totally understand. I really enjoyed the earlier 70s Doobies pre-Michael McDonald. Tom Johnston-vocals/guitar, Pat Simmons-vocals/guitar, Tiran Porter-bass, Mike Hossack-drums, Keith Knudsen-drums, (John?)Hartman-drums..
Mcdonald came aboard when Johnston took ill. I much prefer the earlier lineup. One of the drummers left early on.
I love the stereo painting, with the triplet-shuffling analog keyboard synths, on in the middle there! Besides this one and Lowdown, I remember another one, "Miss Sun," with a really funky, catchy beat to it, on the radio, too.
OMG!! Saw him3 years ago live. His voice, his band and back up singers are stunning. He is the king of COOK!! Check out his catalog and a song that was in John Travolra movie Urban Cowboy, Look What You've Done To Me.
All the great music you've reacted to, and you missed this one.....I can't say that now!!!
Have a listen to Breakdown Dead Ahead as well - it's another cracking song.
I can never work out where to place this song, genre-wise. It's essentially a power pop song, I think. You're right about the relentless driving energy in it. When we were at school, this was one of the most popular hits on the radio. It got everybody moving.
Greybeard... Another song scratched of my list. Can't wait for Harri to hear love, look what you've done to me. You know I like mush.
I hear ya Brandon! I'm expecting some "Bread" requests from ya. Guess you haven't got to that part of your list yet...lol. You just don't lose that heart you have!
There's NO ONE like Boz.
You nailed the meaning my friend.
although a lesser known song, would reco a listen to Boz's "Some Change", probably my fav of his
A grade album 💜
I love your channel, Harri! Keep the good times coming!
I still have my vinyl of this album
BOZ is all-American!
That whole album is 🔥🔥🔥. I wore my original copy out and had to buy another one!
If you want to hear another facet of Boz Skaggs talent please do a reaction on his song Fly like a bird.I believe you will like it.
Thanks for this!
Boz Scaggs started out in a band with Steve Miller
Greybeard, you are on a roll. Since you have Harri's ear, see if you can get him to react to Loan Me A Dime.
That's a very splendid track! I would absolutely sponsor that request in the future.
Such good music! If you’re not moving you need to turn it up!
Yep Silk Degrees great album.
I always loved this song, 'Del Boy Shuffle', and kind of rediscovered Boz a couple of years ago. The whole album, 'Silk Degrees', is great. Must go back and watch your review of 'Lowdown'.
For something very different again, try 'Sierra' which I think is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard.
Check out Dukes of September. Boz Scaggs , Donald Fagen and Michael McDonald.
MUCH RESPECT for the Boz you should check out his BROTHER Ricky
Wife here.., Well I've Loved This all my life.., But my Husband says.."Just a catchy little song about the next JOB for Lido!!.."
Harri please listen to Boz Skaggs' Breakdown Dean Ahead.
Happy Valentine’s Day Harri ❣️ Check out ‘You Sexy Thing’ by Hot Chocolate (original version) & have a great ❤️ day !! 😁💜😻☮️🇨🇦
Boz Scaggs has some great dancing & singing in the car songs, thanks for playing this one!
i have the CD CALLED silk DEGREE'S AND Lido SHUFFLE is ON it
HARRI, HARRI, HARRI, Boz iz da boss! "Heart of Mine" is awesome! What's up? GARY X 3
You're getting good advice. Check out the Silk Degrees album more in depth. Also check out Miss Sun and JoJo by Mr Scaggs. Great artist. Enjoyed this reaction, thanks. Peace
Check out JoJo.It is loaded with funk.
You can't go wrong with Boz. Try "Miss Sun."
Hey, Harri. Love your reactions. So nice to see your reactions without all the theatrics and overproduction a lot of the other reactors have as part of their channel. It’s too much and I usually end up fast forwarding to the start of the song. With you, we don’t have to waste time with all that extra crap. You get to the song right away, you give a genuine reaction and it is so fresh. Thank you, Harri. I would like to make a request. I’m not a patron, but I hope you can honor this request for me anyway. I would love you to react to a song called, A Song For You sung by Donny Hathaway. I know you would appreciate it. The vocals are incredible and his emotion shows with every note. It’s a beautiful love song and will touch you in that place. Even if you don’t have time to do a reaction, just listen to it on your own. Thanks, Harri.
I always thought this song was about either a bank robber or a gambler looking to get one last big score and disappear.
I may be wrong but in reading the lyrics it appears that Lido was a drifter trying to win big while gambling his money away.
Gotta do "Low Down"
Lido, im witcha, but the bar is closed
Harri: You have to react to Boz Scaggs and Duane Allman - Loan Me a Dime - Recorded at Muscle Shoals, I believe.
HEY HARRI! :) THE WHOLE ALBUM ( SILK DEGREES ) IS GREAT BUT THE BIG HUGE HIT ON IT BESIDES THIS IS AND WAS : LOWDOWN :)
I'm not a patreon so I'm not sure how to recommend you something to review. Please may I suggest Don't go to Strangers live on Jools Holland, performed by Amy Winehouse and Paul Weller.
Harri, every song is a hit on this album and none are alike. May I request Harbor Lights. Or really every song on this album…
