    The thigh tap thing is absolutely amazing. I just tried a few taps at home and immediately felt the differences, the knees got bent spontaneously, the ball is low enough so it can be raised up with the body, the ball handle feels firmer, and the set point is right above the shoulder comfortablely. Can't wait to try it out on the court. Thank you Coach!

      This is old but it's because the fluidity of your shot. Unless you have baby hands, it doesn't matter if your hand is small. I had this problem and it almost made me quit when it kept slipping to the side. Whether you grip the ball or not, fluidity makes it harder to actually have the ball slip. Also, make sure that your last finger touching the ball isn't your pinky finger

    Hey I got a question, we took a slow a mo of my little bro shooting. But every time we noticed that his hands aren’t straight, he will usually get the ball up and then mid way through his elbows go out and then they will get back in. Any tips? Is it good or bad he’s doing this. He says he does it because he doesn’t have enough power, so the shot is like a two hand sort of shot. I hope that made sense.

    • @showtimeman17
      @showtimeman17 7 років тому +5

      OldSchoolplayer his shooting elbow chicken wings out? Make sure he makes the effort to rub his elbow against his ribs when he's going into his shot.

    • @finalamv8561
      @finalamv8561 6 років тому +2

      OldSchoolplayer also make sure he is turning when shooting the ball. For example, if he’s a righty he turns the the other hand when shooting. If he’s a lefty then he shoots a bit more to the right.

    • @SOULSafeProductionZ
      @SOULSafeProductionZ 3 роки тому

      @Zay G Don't worry about the size or lack of size of your hands... Many of your better shooters have relatively smaller hands. There are many different ways players have shot... Jordan had big hands and kind of palmed the ball. That was comfortable for him, but that's not comfortable for everyone. Kobe kind of palmed it, but not as much as Jordan... But if you look at Steph, Ray (Allen), Trae, etc, they just allowed the ball to rest on their hands, naturally, with their fingers spread comfortably and use arc to give themselves a higher chance of making the shot. Last thing. Some coaches will tell you that you need to have a space between your palm and the ball and so they'll almost instruct you to exaggerate the "ball on your fingertips", but unless you're deliberately trying to put your palm on the ball, you will automatically have a space there...
      I hope this helps and if you need a visual, just search "basketball hand placement" here in UA-cam. I think Coach Colin even has one...

      Andrew Btookes no it takes too long to shoot 1,000 shots which means you won't be going full speed. Liken said go full speed for about an hour don't count shots because that means you aren't going full speed and after an hour take shots for reps for about 30 minutes

    Hey Coach C. I m a subscriber of yours for 1-2 years at this point and I have always tried to install the hop in my game.I believe I m a good shooter (if I can speak for my self) but I have struggled to install the hop in my game and I think it hurts my game and my scoring numbers.I have used the hop sometimes in-game and I have been happy with the results but I can not be consistent with it , most of the time I use the hop I can not get a good grip of the ball and that leads to a lot of misses.What should I do ?

    Hi I'm 12 years old. Everytime I try to dribble my opponents takes the ball away from me what type of drills should I be doing to keep my handles tighter and make it harder for defenders

    • @finalamv8561
      @finalamv8561 6 років тому

      Habeeb Tiamiyu try to keep the ball far away from them and instead of doing random drills try to dribble faster. The faster you dribble the faster you can change you’re momentum. And finally try to wrap a plastic bag over your ball and dribble the ball. This will help you get better handles.
