This adjustment really does work. I’m usualy an inconsistant shooters but I tried this and I hit a really high amount of threes after I got use to it, thanks coach 🔥
Great video. I’ve recently started playing competitive basketball and i wanted to improve my game before the next season starts and your videos really helped me improve my handles and shooting. Thank you coach❤️🏀
I picked this up from watching a lot of steph's videos. I've been using it for a while now and I can second coach's claim about how some people are going to love it.
3 yrs ago when I first watched this and tried it didn't work for (shooting hand behind ball worked for me) but now my hands have gotten bigger and i have had difficulty getting my hand/wrist straight under the ball so im gonna try this again. (Rn im seeing how my form looks and it's already looking better than b4. I'll see how it looks at the court but I think im gonna see improvement ) Edit: I tried it out and when I made my shots and rotated correctly it looked good. In a couple weeks I'll be consistent. Edit#2: Today I was able to extend my range to the ft line. Ty bro
I get both schools of thought. I think palm rotation works more for people who shoot in front of their eyes. Palm behind the ball works for more for the matt bonner type where the shot is almost from the side of his head. Do you think palm rotation adds left or right misses? You have to rotate it the perfect amount so the hand ends uo square to the basket.
Colin, any tips on softening the guide hand? I definitely got into a bad habit of sticking my guide hand to the ball and now it rotates to top of ball when I've completed palm rotation with the shooting hand.
Practice shooting one-handed free throws and make sure ur elbow ends up at or above ur eyebrows This will help u get used to having no guide hand which will correlate to softening it as well as helping ur shooting arc
Please post a more detailed video regarding shooting action and getting power and height to the arc. Also use of guide hand coz whenever I try high release I totally lose my direction
do you teach your players to shoot from one side of their body, as in after they load and jump do you tell them to release the ball from their shooting hand side of their head or straight in front of their face?
I like the palm rotation off of dribbling with my left hand or if I catch the ball in a weird position where I can’t get my hand behind the ball initially
Colin, how often have you hurt your left pinky finger? I have the same condition but maybe more noticeable. I broke my pinky 3 times and dislocated at the middle knuckle 3 times. 3 times playing basketball and three times doing tar Keon do. I had to pull it from out of its socket and put it back in. I never noticed it stuck out like that until a black belt practitioner during my 1st degree test pointed it out. It really helps when I shoot left handed. Do you have lessons on how to improve a shot using a non-dominant hand? Had to play left handed a while from a right wrist injury, falling on ice. Seems I am unable to stay off the hardwoods, my go to sanctuary
Depends on the situation. If you are deep and need the sway it could help you add range. If you are closer and the d is tight to you, there isn’t much room to sway
I analized your shot and your wrist isnt under the ball. Its more on the side so when you extend your elbow then it is in the middle. When the ball is anout to leave your hand
Oh shit. That’s crazy. When first listening I thought “what?” But then I realized when paying attention to my shooting form, that’s what I already been doing without realizing it.
Ok so it’s going to be weird when you try to switch. Tips that helped me: 1. Put ur palm on the ball instead of shooting with your fingertips. 2.your guide hand should be numb.try not to add any pressure to the ball. It’ll feel weird at first but you’ll get used to it. 3.if it’s weird going all the way to the side, try moving slightly to the middle but closer to the side. Lemme know if you need more help
I dont like using my palms for shooting. It is best to shoot off your finger pads. I would practice swish shots. That is where you shoot the ball straight swish. Dont hit the rim or backboard. Start close to the basket to get the feel for it. Shooting instantly improved
i always shot the ball like this and alot of my friends and coach would laugh at me for having a weird technique...thanks to this video i can prove them wrong haha
The fact that I already taught myself all these tricks before he even made a video. The fact is im not consistent. I wanna shoot 100/100 not 70/100. Please do a consistency improvement video.
70/100 is very good thats 70% on 100 shots im not saying you shouldnt want to shoot 100% but it’s unrealistic especially in games with closeouts and game speed no one can consistently shoot that good but just keep working go from 70/100 to 80/100 90/100

I already do this when I practice, and it makes since!!!
Yo this secret actually helped me a lot I just need to get out of the habit of accidentally putting my guide hand over the ball
OMAR_GOT_DRIP 11 unfortunately I still shoot with two hands. Although I make them it still messes me up because I miss my free throws and threes

Omg this help me a lot. And I have been shooting far distance 3's too. This move actually made me a mvp shooter.
How do you think I can be more shifty in my dribbling?
Basketball highlights sell you crossovers/fakes with your body. And the leg drag is deadly if you’re fast wit it
