People will always make more out of someone after that person has passed. All of the supermodels during that era were beautiful and in retrospect seeing someone having her makeup applied, standing a certain way, etc. would be just as beautiful on one as the other. The sad thing about Gia is that she was a hard core drug addict that contracted aids and died young. People are going to find her short life fascinating because she had beauty, wealth, stardom, and at the same time was broken. A sad life.

people don't understand the power that addiction has over people. especially something as strong as heroin...especially in the 80s...especially in NYC....especially when you're a SUPERMODEL! no doubt Gia was beautiful and from what I've seen had a real true spirit about her...but the demons of addiction and are very difficult to overcome even when you have a burning love someone.
