- This is from an HBO documentary that aired in 1981... basically, what it takes to become a model. I just pulled out the 4 to 5 minutes of Willie. The video is not great... but it's decent.

She seems sweet. Notice how when she weighed the girl she said look at that and didn't shout out her weight to not embarrass her
I noticed that, too: she was honest without shaming her on-camera. We can come to our conclusion by Willie's facial expression at 1:02, that the model weighed more than 115 pounds. And when she asked her to lose at least 8 pounds, that confirmed she was lying.
She was the one to help Beverly Johnson get the cover on American Vogue!
Such an amazing video. Nice to finally see a video of the real woman that Faye Dunaway portrayed perfectly in Gia. I do think though Faye over did the accent. But that's ok. I think WC's gift and contribution of her company and modeling career is one that should never be overlooked when discussing the industry. Very interesting woman.

I honestly had neck and jaw liposuction because of this video. When Wilhelmina patted the chin, I was convinced. My plastic surgeon is a bedside mannered plastic surgeon.

Yeah people looked much older in those days. It had to do with habitual smoking, older style of the day, and growing up mature at a youngercage.
For someone who has aggressive cancer I can't see it though.

Eileen Ford was quite upset with Wilhelmina because at the height of her career, she quit modeling to open up her own Modeling Agency. Obviously, Eileen was upset coz now she has to compete with Wilhelmina and Elite.
