Bring back the 18 hole playoff!

Goosen probably doesn't miss if Cink would have made his. The whole thing changes, plus that short miss likely spooked Goosen into thinking about an impossible way to blow it. Johnny is flat out wrong (and everyone else) if he feels that Cink's putt cost him being in the playoff. The whole sequence is different in many ways, and Goosen likely never three-putts if Cink makes.

Amazing clothing styles back then. So loose-fitting. It is hard to believe that particular style became the norm.

It's called "comfortable" especially when walking about 5 MILES.

@@steveludwig4200 That wasn't the reason for it at all. It is uncomfortable because golfers have to adjust their shirt before every shot. It was a ridiculous style that made no sense.

Thank God Goosen won this or he would be right up there with Van DeVelde. He almost four putted from 9 feet the day before. If he had missed that last putt to lose, everyone would say Goosed it when missing putts. Fortunately he won the next day or else he would never outrun the narrative. Most golf fans actually forget he even choked on 18 with the three-putt, and if Van De Velde would have won in the playoff it would have just been a comical part of his winning story.

I think having an 18-hole play-off (rather than sudden death or 3 or 4 holes) helped Goosen a bit.
Yeah, it's a shame Van de Velde didn't win the play-off or even hole his bunker shot on 18!
