I followed Jerry Pate in this round. I really thought he could come up through the board and possibly take this open. He started off well and had some trouble. You can’t appreciate how difficult this course is without playing the game and being there. If you can hit steady straight shots you would do well on this course. If you deviate at all, it can get really costly. The greens were playing pretty fast and they are small. Hale pretty much summed it up in the interview about par golf here.

Hale was a great player whom I really admired. But God was he ever mean.

McKay was so annoying. He didn't know the game.
Jim MaKay was too abrasive and lacked a smooth tone to be a good golf announcer.
Nah, I liked him. He's the voice of 80's American Sports.
You have a point. I think Chris Schenkel would’ve been a more appropriate announcer for his tone.
I loved him for the Olympics. He always seemed like a less sugary Mr. Rogers--like the best of neighbors. I can't see or hear abrasive.🤔
