Fun fact: when NatDex Ubers was created, 5 mons were banned to AG almost immediately (Mega Gengar, Calyrex-Shadow, Shedinja, Mega Rayquaza, Miraidon). However the very moment Koraidon got Scale Shot in the DLC, it got suspect tested and then banned, joining its fellow bike lizard in AG.
@@whynot9421 One thing to note is that Mega Gengar was almost banned in gen 7, but that is a whole can of worms I don't want to open. The main thing is that Gengar gained Encore (+ Nasty Plot) in gen 8, which can be utilized by Mega Gengar in NatDex. It wasn't relevant last gen since NatDex Ubers didn't exist in gen 8, only NatDex AG. In gen 9 with NatDex Ubers now existing, Shadow Tag + Encore + Mega Gengar is probably the most hilariously overpowered thing to ever exist in competitive Pokemon.
Fun story, on a sun team I've been using I had Temper Flare as my fire coverage on Koraidon for no recoil. Pretty much just that. Someone swaps in Skeledirge and Tera Fairy'd on my Scale Shot. So I Tera Fire with the double power Temper Flare and blow it away. Probably a super gimmick but it won me the battle.
don't do that... loaded dice is just better and you like fighting moves to avoid recoil on dragon resistant targets, in the age of scale shot skele really isn't a safe koraidon answer unless they're not tera fire/taunt anyway@@riquetrom721
Koraidon has essentially 3 stabs, uses suns offensive AND defensive benefits amazingly, forces KO's on basically anything it wants since it has no counters, and the 3rd type in fire is such a great type to counteract its dragon weaknesses that it can even stop itself being revenge killed AND make its flare blitz so strong it doesn't even need to run super-effective coverage for anything, it can just blast through its type counters. It's kind of insane how they managed to make an even more overpowered mon than zacian-crowned. when in sun its offensive stats are comparable to mega-rayquaza being being only 13 points in attack weaker but way faster and unwallable stab types.
@@daniellejackson6543 it would be better sure but the gen 8 meta was way more vulnerable to zacian than gen 9 is. With many of it's previous checks coming back, with tera on the table and skeledirge it would have a much harder time since it needs even more coverage and struggled to fit them even in gen 8 AG, and its typing made its revenge killers scarce so offensive counterplay was much more limited. The only reason Koraidon doesn't feel as insane as because the power level of the metagame is also extremely high also, just imagine putting Koraidon in gen 8.
It's funny that one move made Koraidon better then Miraidon. Everyone was like Miraidon is the most broken Mon, which I agreed with and here comes Koraidon saying "you all joked on me and now I'm at the top". The best sun setter right now. If Miraidon nasty plot, then it would excel again.

I'm so happy that after the travesty of power imbalance that was Zacian and Zamazenta, both legendary Pokémon this generation are fantastic in their own ways
@@jimtsap04 Zacian was already banned to AG in SS because of his offensive capabilitys, alongside the best defensive type-combination in the entire game. How much worse can it really be?
It is crazy how much scale shot pushed it over the edge. I have a gimmicky bulky balance team that i got to the 1500s with that uses phys def Dachsbun with wish protect as a counter. Unlike the other fairies its ability makes it immune to fire moves. It doesnt help with much else in the tier, but without it koridon can often sweep the team.
Awesome video format really simple and clean. Koraidon is straight up awesome and becoming the strongest form being an underdog is amazing story for it. I think In the long term it’s getting banned to AG, it’s way too oppressive and restricting. It’s crazy how there are many pseudo checks that still can easily die to koraidon. It feels like a stronger primal groudon on deoxys speed wheels that essentially has three stabs . Imo it would be stronger then pre nerf zacian if both were in gen 9, given the power creep on Ubers is way higher compared to gen 8, with more zacian checks.
