One thing I would like to point out about cyclizar is the fact that being an staple of Paldea's identity could come from the "Lagarto Verdinegro" a lizard commonly found throughout the Iberian Penninsula that is considered for many Spanish people to be a candidate to replace the bull as the national animal. Lagarto Verdinegro meaning Green-Black Lizard which are the primary colors of Cyclizar.
I mean that mostly comes down to the fact that we haven’t personally the process that creates paradox. A cool idea to show this would have been to have a time where the past and future paradox swap so when you find the rival legendary it has transformed from a copy into its other counterpart. But Pokémon wouldn’t do that
I though that was kind of the point, to show that the box legends aren't that special compared to the rest of the paradoxes, they're just really strong. The same way Solgaleo and Lunala are just really powerful Ultra Beasts. But that's just my theory.
yeah what makes Miraidon & koraidon special is the time displacement, but if the game allowed you to go to their eras then they would be everywhere just like Cyclizard
Kinda weird you didn’t talk about their abilities, Orichalcum Pulse, and Hadron Engine. Orichalcum being the mythical element, and is believed to be a mixture of gold and copper. And Hadron Engine, named likely after the Large Hadron Collider, being Miraidon’s Engine, meaning it has achieved a near perfect energy source, the very power of the Big Bang.
It’s one of those things where I definitely agree he should have looked into it but they were likely just so they could have drought/electric surge merged with protosynthesis/quark drive without giving them two abilities
I don't know if it's true, as what I "know" is just from online people repeating it constantly (and not from reading/researching the topic myself) But apparently, Atlantis (which is the in-gamecode name for Area Zero) was said in some tales to have access to Orichalcum and have tech advanced enough that they """knew""" about Hadrons. For the hadron part, I placed the """"" cuz I doubt it's hadrons in the way we actually know them/use the word. Most likely Greeks used the word for a hypothecal something that they hadn't personally seen and then stated that Atlantis actually had it, similar to how they """knew""" about atoms but not really, and then we adopted "atom" as a term for a more appropiated something that better fits what their idea was. (Like how we don't have teleportation but we can make stories where someone actually have it, understands it, and knows how to propertly implement it)
Cyclizar has always been a fun Pokémon for me. Being a bike lizard is fine and all, but the fact it’s normal dragon is fun. Unlike the other normal dragon, Cyclizar is a dragon that was domesticated. It liked humans a lot, the body heat they produced, and ended up having a symbiotic relationship with humans being their ride. So while still having draconic powers still deep within them, they have been tamed and became the equivalent of dogs and cats. Which I do love to imagine that since they like human’s body heat, they would curl up around their trainer when they sleep to both protect their trainer, and absorb their body heat. Also yeah, Miraidon being Roko’s Basilisk IS pretty terrifying of it being realized. A robotic serpent that is made and completed, and could do ANYTHING.
I played Violet version all because of Miraidon. The overall design is amazing, and the lore/inspiration is well-thought-out for a Box Art Legendary. It was a good thing that the Iron Serpent we met at the beach in the South Province and gave a sandwich to already chose not to go the savage route (like the second one) just to be destined to be with us.
My problem with the basilisk is that it would choose to be evil. While power is not correlated to morality, neither is it related to immorality. It would be like achieving God hood and deciding to spend eternity burning ants.
I first interpreted Koraidon’s Fighting type as a reference to it being the apex predator of its age, hence its Apex Build it assumes in battle. It being so freakishly strong and survivable given how it can traverse just about any terrain correlates well with a “fighter”.
True, when you look at Machamp or Conkeldurr or Mega Lopunny you realize the fighting type isn't necessarily just martial arts, but physical fitness in general
The basilisk/infohazard might be an inspiration of Terapagos as well, as while its name is completely redacted in modern texts, including the professor’s research notes, the unsettling Ms. Briar has an original copy of the Scarlet/Violet book without the name redacted, and seems to be seeking Terapagos out
Also I just looked at the maps for Kalos and France side-by-side and Vaniville town, X/Y’s hometown location, is very close on the map to Tarascon, the town where the folktale of the Tarrasque originated from, so that’s another connection to Kalos if Terapagos really is partially based off the Tarrasque
Hi. I'm a guy who tells you about German Pokémon names. Today, it's about Cyclizar. Not Koraidon and Miraidon, because they have the same name in German and English and they're explained in this video already. So, Cyclizar is called "Mopex". The name combines "moped", which is the same in English and German, and "Echse", our word for lizard. Note: The "chs" is often read as an x. That's why the "Echse"-part is not as obvious as the "moped"-part in the name. Yeah, and that's it. Hope you enjoyed it.
@@tetravega567 True, I have not thought about the connection to dinosaurs like the Tyrannosaurus Rex. It also fits well, because rex means king in Latin, which ties in with Koraidons other name, the Winged King.
For me, Miraidon and Koraidon are the best box legendaries in the series. Not only are they with you throughout the entire game, but both of them have a lovable personality. They aren't just monsters fufilling a role or waiting for a hero. They are your sandwich loving buddies who truly care for you.
As much as I prefer Miraidon, I never got the hate for Koraidon's throat wheel. The point of that thing in real lizards (and other animals with similar throat sacks) is to be as visible as possible, so making it stand out on the Pokemon always made perfect sense to me. If anything, it makes me like the design even more.
Never got the hate for the throat wheels either. While I prefer Miraidon, it isn't because Koraidon's "wheels" don't move. I just simply like Miraidon's design more.
Some people want pokemon to be more animalistic but they can't recognize a lizard 💀 I LOVE Koraidon, there is something about Miraidon that troubles me but I can't put my finger on it... he's cool too, but I don't know...
I love it a lot! It not only gives Koraidon a more edgy feel because of how rough it looks, but i love how it can inflate for swimming or that it potentially could have been used to intimidate foes! Like a bearded dragon or even some birds do!
It just looks kind of stupid, and not everyone knows about every single animal and how they work. Imo having no wheels and just run on four legs would've made more sense because back then people didn't have any wheeled transport so they used horses and such. Would've felt more prehistoric imo, but it's mostly that it just looks weird.
I love how even before the game released, we already knew that the themes for the games was Past vs Future and that Pokemon would be getting Past and Future forms just based on the Legendaries and the Professors names
@@valivali8104 No not the main boxes 😂 Look at White Forest vs Black City Or how Opelucid City in Black had futuristic vibes and glowing parts In White, the same city was old, run down, and treated with respect. In B2W2, the Desert Route (4) in White2 had abandoned Ruins excavated, where in Black2 they tried to fill it with more houses. Team Plazma itself Knights that Flew around on a futuristic pirate ship. Reshiram was an old school flame-burning stove. Zekrom a top of the line electric generator. Genesect is an ANCIENT extinct Pokémon revived with modern technology and retrofitted with "advanced" technology. The Fossils were* the oldest fossils at that point--"ancestors" to modern Pokémon. (Due to paleontological discoveries, this is no longer true.) Even minor differences in some species sort of~ reflect Past vs Future, if a bit of a stretch. Reshiram - Dragon/Fire (Turboblaze) Koraidon - Fighting/Dragon (Orichalcum Pulse) Zekrom - Dragon/Electric (Teravolt) Miraidon - Electric/Dragon (Hadron Engine) It's a really weird parallel/paradox(?) Just seems like they AREN'T going to just make "Regular" Remakes for Black & White or B2W2?... (Maybe a Legends Game pair? Where one is set in the Ancient Past, and the other in the Distant Future?) (Or tie a Legends game based in Johto+Kanto into the story OF BW3?...)
Don is actually an outdated form of sir (still technically usable, but no one uses it), king is rey. It also means tooth in latin and is a common suffix in animal names, so Koiradon is the tooth from the past and Miraidon the tooth from the future, which are very cool names.
Something I noticed myself is that "Miraidon" sounds a lot a "Morado" which is the Spanish word for purple. Miraidon is not only purple, but comes from the violet game. Doesn't really mean anything I just thought it was cool.
How about we have a BDSP-like HM Slave style where, instead of keeping a pet Cyclizar like our friendly Raidon for transport, we call a random wild Cyclizar every time we need transport?
@@agentdon1760yeah susanoo was also present in *digital monster* where it fought *lucifer downfall mode(forma)* and susanoo is also an antagonist in *blazblue* where he is a fusion of white susanoo unit hakumen and black susanoo unit terumi yuki.
The whole hero biker idea for pokemon SV is also a heavy influence for Team Star; a group of bullied students grouping up together to fight for the injustice against bullying... a bit too well but still. Not to mention their teams extensive use of biker helmets and some of the group riding Cyclizar themselves, only 10x cooler because they attatch loudspeakers to their saddles.
I think Koraidon's Fighting type also comes from their aggressive primal instinct since they are a dinosaur or animal who evolved around their primal environmet like Great Tusk. In one of the pokedexs its written that Koraidon splitted the earth with his punches which kinda shows how powerful were they in theit ecosystem
Just a note about the last point regarding Miraidon: For those who are afraid of the implications of Roko's Basilisk, there is a video from the science communicator named Kyle Hill all about how to defeat Roko's Basilisk. Anyone who is falling into the existential dread from this, give that video a watch.
Wait! Winged King…Iron Serpert 😱! When you put their names together (minus the king and iron parts) you get Winged Serpent aka Quetzalcoatl one of the most significant gods in Mesoamerican culture. The King and Iron parts of their names might refer to Ogun the god of iron that originated from Africa, but is worshipped in many parts of Latin America nowadays.
If Cyclizar got a legendary form like how Koraidon and Miraidon are Legendary past and future forms of the former it could very well look like quetzalcotl having Koraidons wings, and the Miraidons power to float. So basically those 2 mashed together as a present day form.
If thats the only reference we get to Quetzalcoatl instead of its own Pokémon/form, that really sucks I guess Koraidon kinda gives of Quetzalcoatl vibes, but eh
Another interesting thing I noticed about Koraidon is he also resembles depictions of Chinese General Lu Bu, with his head feathers and color scheme Lu Bu's Title also is also quite similar; being the "Flying General" like Koraidon's "Winged King"
Further reinforced by the strong Chinese themes found abundantly throughout Scarlet & Violet, especially regarding the four obvious example Legendary Pokemon. Even Miraidon can be equivocated to 螣蛇 ("t'eng-she"), a flying "dragon snake" in Chinese mythology which is known to soar into the clouds and in some tellings brings lightning. Likewise, Koraidon may take influence additionally from the "dilong", a Chinese earth dragon that was paired with tianlong (a heavenly dragon, which could be another reference for Miraidon and fits their duality) or a panlong. Further, both dragons could take influence from what is believed to be a typo in an old biographical account where it is described as the boat of the subject (君才 General Juncai) as having two dragons (「雙龍」/ "shuanglung") at its side, which might have been a typo where the author meant to say 「雙輪 」("shuanglun") which means "two wheels" (such as with a paddleboat).
Another reason for Koraidon and Miraidon typings is the fact that fighting is also associted with pure primal strangth (as in survival of the fittest kind of way) and electric because its associated with technology (as in high tech futuristic technology).
Plus the two types (Fighting and Electric) are perfectly balanced against the other, They aren’t stronger when used on the other, not weak against, there is no resistance between them and no vulnerability from the other. Also the two types are associated with a certain stat, Fighting with Atk, and Electric with Sp. Atk. Which is shown with both Koraidon and Miraidon
19:00: A lot of Dinosaurs, especially the living ones, the birds, use non-flight feathers for display purposes witch is why they are so bright and colorfull, so Koraidon's head feathers might also be pulling from that. (and you also misspelled Komodo Dragon)
I always assumed the reason the pokedex doesnt line up with the behavior we see in the player’s miraidon is because that pokedex entry is from Scarlett. The only way to get a miraidon in Scarlett is for a player with Violet to trade the second miraidon, the one known to have killed Turo and is highly territorial.
29:35 i feel like the opposite is true for the player's Miraidon. Because you, a HUMAN, healed it, helped it achieve its full potential, helped it overcome its rival, and showed it compassion, the PLAYER'S Miraidon would then be inclined to help humanity. Its personality is even described as being "passive." AI Turo's Miraidon, the one in the final fight of the main story and later hangs in Area Zero for you to catch that... THING would have a personality closer to that of what Roko described on July 23, 2010. It's what killed the real professor and showed nothing but aggression towards anything that moved other than AI Turo.
I loved hearing Lockstin delve into Roko's Basilisk! Kyle Hill has a pretty extensive video focused solely on the concept, I highly recommend watching it after this vid
Kyle went downhill after he left Because Science. It just isn't the same. Everything feels off and cringey, and his videos just aren't enjoyable. And from what I remember he can't shut up about fitness or making an analogy to something sports-related. But I haven't watched him in a while.
"Far more ruthless and powerful." IIRC Miraidon was banned from Ubers rather quickly. It's now in Anything Goes alongside Mega Rayquaza and Crowned Zacian. Though I may be mistaken.
I love your world building within and between video series. It’s always cool when Maxill shows up, but I’ve also grown fond of Lochrome and Rockstin and their mug-instigated paradox.❤
I kind of was hoping for more details about Miraidon like it's signature move or how it looks more like a motorcycle that can do the akira drift. The roko stuff took up most of the time and it's still confusing if it relates to Miraidon that well.
Koraidon's look could also be inspired by native american grass dance regalia; bright colors, big headdress, lots of drapping feathers or ribbons, and some even attach feathers to the waist in a similar way to koraidon's tail to add more movement whilst dancing
The thumbnail art look like Koraidon is a father who’s enjoying what’s his reading while Miraidon looks like a mom who’s piss and cyclizar looks like that confused kid trying to comprehend what it’s reading
Still wish we had an option to ride a regular cyclizar if we wanted. Yeah I know it wouldn't have all the bells and whistles of our legendary lizards. Still would have been cool as a option.
I would have liked an alternative thing to ride period. I don’t like how I can’t use Miraidon and have a bike. Like I get that’s what the second one is for but A I don’t have the bond with that one and B I traded that for Koraidon.
I have 2. But I'm still hurt because one time I was hatching eggs and I could see a shiny Cyclizar show up. But I was stuck in the egg hatching animation bs and had to watch it despawn itself by running off. @@powersurge_beast
20:34 hey, BACA!!! Wasn’t expecting to see them in one of your Pokémon videos but I’m pleasantly surprised. My dad was a member of BACA when I was a young teen and he’d take me along for rides and meeting the kids. On top of protecting kids from abusers and helping them feel comfortable testifying in court, they’d give the kids little biker teddy bears that were hugged full of love by every member of the visiting chapter, fluffy throw blankets with the BACA logo, and sometimes a pillow case signed by all the members with their nicknames. BACA parents were encouraged to bring their older kids along so long as they were able to be respectful and such, cuz seeing other kids in the biker gang made the abused kids feel more comfortable. Such an awesome organization.
i have a theory to why clyclizar and koraidon make "tires" with their dewlaps and tails just like the anole the dewlap is for intimidation to prevent mons from attacking them while they run and they coil their tails to preserve the body heat their leg muscles generate when they run after all the reason why cyclizar loves people riding on it is because our warm blooded bodys act as heat sources for them so maybe they coil their tails to keep as much heat inside their bodies as possible
That would be another good reason for the Dewlap being as big as it is as well, you get the heat from the legs moving to fast being reabsorbed into both >.>
There’s so much more to their inspiration! : Carl Jung is one big piece of it - he has a book about flying DISKS called Flying Saucers A Modern Myth Of Things Seen In The Skies that explains a lot about the lore of Scarlet and Violet and has a passage about “the frequent substitution of automobiles and aeroplanes for animals and monsters in modern dreams” Carl Jung was inspired by Plato, who also wrote about a Demiurge, which, if you Google, you’ll see is a serpent that evokes a similarish design to Koraidon & Miraidon and is also related to cataclysms and the serpent of the Garden of Eden. AND ALSO the airplane design of Koraidon & Miraidon is inspired by real-world Admiral Richard E. Byrd who flew a plane in a story that is a total parallel to Heath’s. I’m working on a video series about this that you can watch on my channel. Parts 1 & 2 are already both up in one video! And I will be giving a shoutout to you Lockstin & Gnoggin, cause your theories about alchemy in Pokémon helped me become aware of so many things - thanks!
Thanks@@ElvenMoth I love your handle! I have always meant to research more into Carl Jung, and oddly enough, Pokémon has finally motivated me to do it! I was looking into answers about Scarlet & Violet and found out about Carl Jung's "The Red Book," which led me into all of this. "Flying Saucers A Modern Myth Of Things Seen In The Skies" has so many more answers to Terapagos, Terastalization, the Paradox Pokémon & more! My next video will focus on the inspiration from Carl Jung in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.
@vesselXI Hehe, that's awesome. The 'Scarlet Book' immediately made me think of Jung. You make videos, I'd love to see one on Jung and Pokemon. Also, thank you for the compliment, ElvenMoth has many symbolic meanings for me. :)
I can’t believe Lockstin just cursed us all with the knowledge of Roko’s Basilisk 😮😱 I had no idea of the concept before watching this though it is fascinating
one loved the use of kamen riders to explain the fighting type while also the bike motif on koraidon and two I hope there's some connection to terapagos to both koraidon and miraidon when we get to part 2 of the dlc
Okay theory time (with DLC spoilers watch out): This first one is very likely imo and will probably be part of the DLC's plot, but my assumption is that the Loyal Three are all paradox pokemon. The teal mask (that amplifies tera energy) was in Kieran's possession when he accidentally revived the loyal three. What did kieran want at that moment? To prove that the loyal three are evil while ogerpon is a good guy. And sure enough, the pokemon that appear at his moment of need are saturday morning cartoon villains, exactly what a child like him would imagine 'baddies' to look and behave like. Of course, while these paradoxes are recreations of pokemon that existed in the past, they are neither truly ancient nor futuristic, as this imagined trio had nothing to do with Sada and Turo's delusions about time travel but a different scenario altogether. I think this is likely the direction that the 'secret of area zero' DLC will go concerning Kieran's continued story. Now for a more bonkers theory: Regieleki and Regidrago are also time-based paradoxes. One is made out of an ancient dragon's skull that resembles Charizard but much, much bigger (as if gigantamaxed) while the other is made out of... literal electricity, a substance that with current or ancient tech would be literally impossible to sculpt a golem out of. They are also mutually exclusive, you can only choose to create/encounter one of the two in a single save file. We've seen shrines built to contain the regi trio and regigigas no fewer than three times in the series, in hoenn, Sinnoh/Hisui and even some in Johto in HGSS, yet none except the ruins in the crown tundra reference the other two regis in any way, even the Hisui ones that were implemented when these pokemon already existed. The two galar regis are definitively not part of the regi collective, as you need the primary three to even summon one of the two newcomers. In addition, Regigiga's body has three sets of eyes on it's torso, one pair for each of the regi trio. Nothing representing eleki or drago being related to him at all. So what if one of the explorers (be they modern or ancient) investigating area zero was hoping to find more ancient ruins like those in the other regions? He may have returned with one or both of these 'new' golems without realising that they actually never existed in ancient times and were created from his imagination, and brought them to Galar to join the rest of the collection. Alternatively they might not even be inside the split decision ruins until the player makes that 'decision', which in turn causes a re-creation of one of these pokemon. The puzzle required to do so even involves lighting up floor tiles that may well be made of a glowing crystal. The final DLC for sword and shield making a subtle call-forward to the next game's theme would be pretty cool!
14:28 big props to my man Lockstin for pronouncing Barcelona with a Castilian accent, as opposed to the traditional way. I know it sounds like a lisp or a flub, but I PROMISE you, that's the way natives pronounce it.
God I love how precious Koraidon is. Hes like a massive innocent puppy. Also hes got one of the coolest titles ever "Winged King" which Im sorry but thats so RAW.
For the miraidon part; who would risk their possible sanity just to be inspired of making miraidon? If what you mentioned is true about their inspiration also this was a great video
So koridon basically a ancient royal hero of the past, while Miridon is a secretive Futuristic villain/ monster those are quite the tropes. Anyway Miridons my favorite out of the two. Also thanks future lockstin for cursing us we forbidden knowledge.
I laughed more than I should have at "the state" lol Murica is slowly heading towards "Idiocracy", especially with the orange man trying to run again lol
26:05 With this definition in mind, as well as Miraidon being a serpent, I don't think an urban legend like this is even necessary. Heck, the thought experiment was probably inspired by this, with me of course referring to the serpent and the tree of knowledge. While the serpent itself did not necessarily have the knowledge of the tree, nor did it create the fruit, it was the guide to the fruit of knowledge. It tempted Eve to eat the fruit and then to feed it to Adam, giving them knowledge that would lead to the mortality of humanity. Miraidon may be using its abilities (its knowledge of the future, its exoskeleton, its bond with the player, etc.) to guide the player, their friends, and perhaps all of Paldea to a dangerous truth. That truth may simply be what exists in Area Zero and time travel, or maybe it is hiding something even more dangerous that will be seen in the DLC. And, come to think of it, Koraidon may also be filling a similar role, even if it is not yet serpentine. After all, before the fruit of knowledge was eaten, the serpent did have legs, and that story took place long ago. It also guides the player to a similar location and truth. Just a little theory to keep in mind.
Couple things I'd like to add. 1: The Basilisk AI adds a seriously dark implication to the fact the Miraidon also really likes penny (tho tbf, both korai and mirai do) 2: Given the nature of time travel and paradoxes, it makes me wonder if the "bullies" korai and mirai face ARE them, but from a dark timeline where they are evil (or at the very least mean) 3: black and white also had a big focus on past vs. Future, Black city vs. White forest for example, which makes me wonder if they too have connections of some kind to the tao trio, especially since all involved are part Dragon type
And Miraidon even shares the same type combo as Zekrom. Koraidon could've easily been Fire/Dragon like Reshiram, but they had to change it up to avoid making them too similar.
12:36 Incorrect Don means Sir or Lord, King in Spanish is Rey. 20:30 Definitely looking too deep into this, no way Japan looked that deep into foreign biker culture(probably only Portugal and Spain because of the region)😊
I think the infohazard idea for Miraidon is a bit of a stretch, but I could see that being at least a minor component of the inspiration for Terapagos, considering its implied abilities and lore.
I liked that you informed people about the Potential information hazard. I just wished you gave a distin t warning about it. Maybe even adding a timestamp for people to skip to if they did not want to know bout this potentially dangerous information. Otherwise a great video as always!
Roko's basilisk isn't actually an infohazard, its just a dumb hypothetical that doesn't make any sense. You could cut out most of the stuff about only targeting certain people and just say "a hypothetical ai will kill everyone who knows about it, me telling you this is an info hazard" and it would make much more sense and also still be blatantly stupid
I always had the theory koraidon caused a mass extinction in the past because of its dinosaur aspect and signature move. Could have killed more than AZ
@seandewar47 That's not confirmed, it's just speculated. Considering it's a paradox and they ran out of Koraidons to catch, the implication may be that it no longer exists in the past.
Fun thing about Cyclizar: I drew a third box legendary called Cyraidon & it's a gothpocalyptic Cyclizarian adjacent to Koraidon & Miraidon, & Arven reactivated his parents time machine after making a Tera Tether, but instead of opening a rift to send himself to the Ancient paradoxis or Future Paradoxis, it sent him to an Alt Apocalyptic Paradoxis. That's all I can say, & official ar might come soon.
Just to point something out in (the unlikely) case someone else hadn't already; those 'orange cheek patches' are called "tympanum". They are an equivalent to an ear/ear drum in various animals, but are usually most visible in reptiles and amphibians!
According to a leak the second half of the dlc has 8 new Pokemon: Terapagos, Paradox Raikou, Entei, Cobalion, and Terrakion, Archaludon, a possible Dipplin evolution, and one last mystery Pokemon. So, yes, it does have more paradox Pokemon. Oh, and it's in Unova so, Archaludon was most likely based on a New York bridge. That's not a leak though. First few lines of The Teal Mask state Blueberry Academy is in Unova.
I would personally use both a Drifblim for air travel and Meganium for land travel. I don't live near large bodies of water, and enjoy swimming. If I must choose, then Lanturn.

Oh im gonna have a bit of fun with that then ^v^
Tbf though rokos basilisk is kind of stupid, it's basically pascals wager for elon musk fanboys.
@@user-burner tbh i dont even know what they were rambling on abt

The Game: The Pokemon

Mopex is a really cool name
Sounds like a Bike/Dinosaur - Moped Rex
@@tetravega567 True, I have not thought about the connection to dinosaurs like the Tyrannosaurus Rex. It also fits well, because rex means king in Latin, which ties in with Koraidons other name, the Winged King.

Timburr's line moves through the building materials Evolution--Simple wood, to strong steel beams, to special concrete to strengthen buildings further.
Even with new information from Legends: Arceus and SV, new Unova stuff still supports Past v Future in some older Version-Exclusive Counterparts/Pairs:
- Zoroark were once extinct; Cinccino are almost supporting overpopulation numbers
- Braviary were extremely weak to Mandibuzz; they had to change Type at some point in Unova
- Lilligant used to be weak (Fighting) to Whimsicott (Fairy); Both now compete for Human attention
- Solosis seem to be the best Pokémon to study for understanding Evolution of single-celled organisms; Gothorita look into and tell the Future--with Gothitelle giving visions of beauty and heartbreak of the End of all things...
- In Galar Darmanitan are said to be in low numbers; and have lost the Ability to use their special organs that produce fire--they're Dormant. (Until in "Zen Mode"); where Humans used to use Unovan Darumaka's droppings similar to coal to keep their houses warm before insulation, HVAC, etc.)
- Sigilyth protect Ancient ruins but no amount of technology has EVER been able to replicate this Pokémon.
- Golett and Golurk were built by an ancient civilization and no present research has identified HOW they continue to Function.
- The Pawniard line are almost like robots, but they're also chess pieces as well as Samurai and/or knights.
- Accelgor and Escavalier aren't version-exclusive, but they reflect the Team Plasma differences: Ninjas and Knights (specifically the Shadow Triad)
(Plus, Reshiram and Zekrom seem to directly be connected to or influenced/by? the Paradox duo?... A Dragon that exudes flames and burned the Region, and A Dragon that creates electricity and electrocuted the Region?...)
Reshiram - Dragon/Fire (Turboblaze)
Koraidon - Fighting/Dragon (Orichalcum Pulse)
Zekrom - Dragon/Electric (Teravolt)

Don is actually an outdated form of sir (still technically usable, but no one uses it), king is rey. It also means tooth in latin and is a common suffix in animal names, so Koiradon is the tooth from the past and Miraidon the tooth from the future, which are very cool names.

Just a note about the last point regarding Miraidon:
For those who are afraid of the implications of Roko's Basilisk, there is a video from the science communicator named Kyle Hill all about how to defeat Roko's Basilisk.
Anyone who is falling into the existential dread from this, give that video a watch.
I miss the old Kyle Hill when he was on Because Science. He's so obnoxious and way too into fitness crap now with his weird solo channel.
Wow
If Cyclizar got a legendary form like how Koraidon and Miraidon are Legendary past and future forms of the former it could very well look like quetzalcotl having Koraidons wings, and the Miraidons power to float. So basically those 2 mashed together as a present day form.

@@Nameless-ln5mrIt's fine, man. Considering how broken Orichalcum Pulse is, that's a perfectly reasonable warning.
Koraidon: Totally rad dude that’ll have your back and uphold Justice
Miraidon: *All your base are belong to us.*
LOL
Another reason for Koraidon and Miraidon typings is the fact that fighting is also associted with pure primal strangth (as in survival of the fittest kind of way) and electric because its associated with technology (as in high tech futuristic technology).
Plus the two types (Fighting and Electric) are perfectly balanced against the other,
They aren’t stronger when used on the other, not weak against, there is no resistance between them and no vulnerability from the other.

They need to be reoccuring characters, they're so fun
Gotta love Rockstin. High intellect with limited linguistics will never not be a funny combination.
29:35 i feel like the opposite is true for the player's Miraidon.
Because you, a HUMAN, healed it, helped it achieve its full potential, helped it overcome its rival, and showed it compassion, the PLAYER'S Miraidon would then be inclined to help humanity. Its personality is even described as being "passive."
AI Turo's Miraidon, the one in the final fight of the main story and later hangs in Area Zero for you to catch that... THING would have a personality closer to that of what Roko described on July 23, 2010. It's what killed the real professor and showed nothing but aggression towards anything that moved other than AI Turo.

I love anoles so much. The fact that we got 3 anole Pokémon, two of which are the box legendaries, is really cool!
i have a theory to why clyclizar and koraidon make "tires" with their dewlaps and tails just like the anole the dewlap is for intimidation to prevent mons from attacking them while they run and they coil their tails to preserve the body heat their leg muscles generate when they run after all the reason why cyclizar loves people riding on it is because our warm blooded bodys act as heat sources for them so maybe they coil their tails to keep as much heat inside their bodies as possible
That would be another good reason for the Dewlap being as big as it is as well, you get the heat from the legs moving to fast being reabsorbed into both >.>

There’s so much more to their inspiration! : Carl Jung is one big piece of it - he has a book about flying DISKS called Flying Saucers A Modern Myth Of Things Seen In The Skies that explains a lot about the lore of Scarlet and Violet and has a passage about “the frequent substitution of automobiles and aeroplanes for animals and monsters in modern dreams”
Carl Jung was inspired by Plato, who also wrote about a Demiurge, which, if you Google, you’ll see is a serpent that evokes a similarish design to Koraidon & Miraidon and is also related to cataclysms and the serpent of the Garden of Eden.

Okay theory time (with DLC spoilers watch out):
This first one is very likely imo and will probably be part of the DLC's plot, but my assumption is that the Loyal Three are all paradox pokemon.
Now for a more bonkers theory:
Regieleki and Regidrago are also time-based paradoxes.
That theory about the Loyal Three being Paradox Pokemon is so mind blowing it actually makes so much sense.

That is an amazing idea if I've ever heard one. Roko's Basilisk as an SMT boss sounds awesome!
Little correction, it's Moctezuma, not Montezuma. Besides that your explanation about the aztecs was right. Greetings from Mexico!
1: The Basilisk AI adds a seriously dark implication to the fact the Miraidon also really likes penny (tho tbf, both korai and mirai do)
2: Given the nature of time travel and paradoxes, it makes me wonder if the "bullies" korai and mirai face ARE them, but from a dark timeline where they are evil (or at the very least mean)
3: black and white also had a big focus on past vs.
20:20 I didn’t know such a group existed, but I’m VERY pleased to find out they do.
I always had the theory koraidon caused a mass extinction in the past because of its dinosaur aspect and signature move. Could have killed more than AZ
The issue is that Koraidon isn't from the past. Not from ANY time period for that matter
@@seandewar47 which is why my past thought was wrong
Except it couldn’t Flutter Mane which would be in the same time hard counters it.
@kevinstephenson3531 If it died in the process, it could. Fluttermane needs its heat to survive. Plus, it also specializes in fire type moves
That's an interesting Koraidon art on the thumbnail, pecs and all
Just to point something out in (the unlikely) case someone else hadn't already; those 'orange cheek patches' are called "tympanum". They are an equivalent to an ear/ear drum in various animals, but are usually most visible in reptiles and amphibians!
I just realized: Cyclizar’s a dinosaur, Revavroom’s a FLYING CAR. Perfect for Scarlet and Violet.
I love how well timed this was. My part of the state is having a huge motorcycle event right now and i love hearing all of them drive by
According to a leak the second half of the dlc has 8 new Pokemon: Terapagos, Paradox Raikou, Entei, Cobalion, and Terrakion, Archaludon, a possible Dipplin evolution, and one last mystery Pokemon. So, yes, it does have more paradox Pokemon.
Oh, and it's in Unova so, Archaludon was most likely based on a New York bridge. That's not a leak though. First few lines of The Teal Mask state Blueberry Academy is in Unova.
My one question is- how did a huge muscular dragon known as The Winged King evolve into tiny little Cyclizar?
Hey fun fact, it didn’t.
How did big dinosaurs evolve into chickens.
@@kevinstephenson3531 They didn’t.
Oh that's the fun part, they didn't evolve. None of the Paradox Pokémon did
@@xx_squirtle8621 I know that the paradox Pokémon are really just rewritten versions of the present ones
Hang on, so maybe Miraidon is a future Orthworm rather than a future Cyclizar?
that’s what I was thinking!!
I did not expect The Basilisk experiment to be part of this video. Makes me happy that it's being acknowledged
Maybe we can get another form of cyclizar, perhaps from a madmax world where things like ultrabeasts. Call it Apoclizard.
6:00 on the ground that lizard would be so fast but on slippery marbel he is sooooo sloooooow while slipping
Been waiting for a video like this
After knowing Miraidon is just wearing an exoskeleton I see him now differently along the fact creepy since that basilisk story.
This is my favourite part of the video 29:42
I would personally use both a Drifblim for air travel and Meganium for land travel. I don't live near large bodies of water, and enjoy swimming. If I must choose, then Lanturn.
6:52 heavy jumpscare
Ok after watching this series i love all of the paradox Pokémon the same. This is just too cool.
3:40 _Ability: Shed Tail!?_ You mean _Shed Skin?_ Shed Tail is a _move,_ one also learned by other Pokémon like Orthworm.
10:52 The lil bear has seen a rear.
Koraidon looks hot in the thumbnail
You want a feather-crowned raptor king with bombastic headdress, commands the room, and is a fighter for justice???
BEHOLD! YOUR KING!!!
*QUA QUA QUA-QUA QUA QUA-QUAQUAVAL!!!*
