Annie, you and your team are truly the best with your detailed instructions and innovative designs. I’m part of a group of sewists that have been making your patterns at the Pumpkin Patch Quilt shop in Lee, MA. Our teacher is Martha Rodriguez and she is a wonderful teacher and really understands your techniques so completely. We all look forward to all of the classes with your patterns. Thank you for all you do!
I’m even more frugal than Annie thanks to my Dad’s family who were Scottish immigrants living through the Depression in Tenements in Montreal. Nothing was wasted &reuse everything possible. I also had to adjust dress patterns and that habit continues with my bag making - I’m working from my stash and often the yardage is short…so make templates to fit with what I have and then do a contrast if I don’t have enough. This has resulted in projects that I simply love….I have leftovers that are 2 inches wide and 12 inches long that I’m joining together to see what I can make …love the possibilities. And this was before I found this video..again I’ve learned something new to try- I LOVE Live with Annie .
I'm so glad I ran across this video. I'm working on my very first ByAnnie project, the Paci It In 2.0 for my upcoming cruise! And I just laughed when I saw the video title, because, sure enough, I have all my scraps on the cutting table looking pretty with no idea what to do with them, but I knew I would not throw them away! Thanks so much!!!
I have been watching these videos every week. Unfortunately, I am unable to watch them live, I don't think my employer would understand. So I watch them at a later time and just love them. This series has been the very best resource to find answers to multiple questions. I especially love the opportunity to see the different projects byannie. I can appreciate the items as I see them on line, but as Annie shows them and offers different uses for the patterns I become so excited to try them. Thank you for making these videos, they are hands down my very favorite!
Brilliant video Annie, thank you. My pattern list just doubled in size! I'm off to watch the other one now. Your videos are wonderful for when I'm stuck in my chair feeling frustrated because I cannot get on. (Back issues) Your voice and sense of humour always cheer me up. Thank you.
Thank you for doing these videos. I love seeing all the fun fabrics used and all the great tips. I like the details instructions and tags provided for each piece. I place that page on my printer and copy them so in case I want to make the project again, they are in tact and I can make another copy! ❤
Thank you so much for all your wonderful tips and ideas. I love them. I love using up leftover fabric and recycling fabrics. Can’t wait to try this and your patterns. I am new to your products and really enjoy your videos and it makes me excited to start sewing again.
I agree with you- I have always made it a point to conserve fabric- when laying out my patterns- I am aware of which will leave the largest scraps that can be used later. I cringe when I see a video tute and they just cut indiscriminately and waste so much fabric. Now I am going to re-watch the video on directional fabric and your way to join the fabric using binding strips. Always look forward to your Wednesday videos. Thank you for sharing your talent and inspiration.
HI, Annie and team! Re: a Sew-Along. I have made a bunch of your patterns already, so I don't feel the need for additional videos or anything. However, I love the sense of community that comes from a sew-along and people sharing their work. plus, like you, I tend to always have more on my plate than I can deal with, so a sew-along would be a fun way of making me focus on one of the several ByAnnie patterns I want to make. Personally, I would LOVE a sew-along with the A Place For Everything 2.0. I have made the original version, which I really liked, but I am looking forward to making the new version, and a sew-along would put it at the top of my list. :)
Absolutely love all the ideas. I've got so many bags in various stages of progress. Love them. I made a Piece Keeper large enough for my 12 x 18" cutting mat so thatI can take a small project to work with me.
Thank you so much for all the details about your resourses. Awesome information. I am currently making A Room with a View. Your instructions and videos are so wonderful and easy to follow.
Thr subjects well. I am not fond of the website. The pictutes on my phome are fuzzy and small abd can't ne emlarged . I havr no tv or computer internet .
So glad you're doing this on leftovers. I never throw stuff out as I figure I can always "glue" pieces together, but am not always good at thinking up projects to make with bits and pieces. Your help is much appreciated.
Well I actually made this live...there is so much I want to make and hope to get the catalog...may be in my mail today,,.have made a few of your patterns and love them....thanks
I was wondering if in a future video you might discuss which bag(s) would work well for jewelry makers and bead or fiber weavers, or for those who knit or crochet to hold/carry supplies and tools for traveling? I’ve looked at some of the videos for most of the bags but I am unable to figure out which bags and carrying cases that would work best for those crafts or how they could be adjusted to accommodate those crafts. Love the projects and I’m hoping to get a sewing machine to make some for myself in the future.
I've used small pieces of soft and stable inside a small plastic tackle box with customizable compartments from Cabelas to protect my sewing machine feet that I store in them.
I've been catching up on your LIVE videos and this one was GREAT, with so many tips and ideas! I love how you use many different fabric lines and let us know the name of the designer and and manufacturer. Thanks to you and your staff!
This video was a big help for me. I try to minimize online purchases to save shipping, but I invariably forget something. I really wish I could just run down to my local Hobby Lobby, Michael's, or JoAnn's to purchase the ByAnnie Handbag Zippers as well as the Soft and Stable. It's such a bummer when I get an idea to make something or make a mistake and then have to wait for something to be shipped.
Absolutely amazing group of projects! I can’t imagine how many zipper tape colors you’d have to have. I’m wondering if you could recommend a neutral zipper tape that could be used in multiple projects and still look good. Thanks
I make strips into placemats butt joined with large zigzag and covered on top with bias tape using small zigzag down both edge- or other fancy stitches
I know that filming on a whole project is hard, I understand this, I have had two strokes and have a difficult time reading the instructions. I love the patterns a lot.
One thing no one ever mentions is what setting do they use on your sewing machine. Length....Width....etc. I don’t know why since we are almost all likely using cotton.
I would love to have a Bible cover pattern. I have found so many lost bibles because I people forget to put their names in them cover them,, but rarely do I forget a pretty one or distinct one. Ez5 I do realize that the differences in sizes, that should not b an issue for a seasoned sewer. Time consuming yes, but how many beautiful are now availablr
I would love a cute pattern to keep doll cloths in. I'd like my grand daughters to be able to store the 18" doll clothes I've made them ,they are bulky and get miss placed. I want them to be able to store them and later give to their children later in their life. It would be adorable to put little pieces and doll wardrobe.I just can't figure out how to do something like that , that maybe looks like a doll house, size of a small suitcase, can be carried and sturdy. Everyone I've talked to about this even the younger moms seem very interested and excited about something like this. I hope this can get someone at By Annies. Com creative juices going and soon have a pattern. Thanks for all the merchandise I've ordered am pleasantly surprised at how fast it arrives.
HI from Nicolet, Quebec, Canada. I am planning to make a bag for my knitter cousin. I love your products. As well I am trying to make a cover for my Embrodery machine. Thanks for your tutorials. @ginetteprovost
