Thank you so much for the great video and so many helpful tips! So much easier than using a zipper designed for garments! Your explanation was so clear and comprehensive! I can’t wait to try this technique!
I just found you...😂, ans I'm so glad I did, I'm trying to repurpose materials from items I no longer use, so this includes bunches of zippers, and your page is fantastic in helping me along. Thank you so much, and I love your smile, it's so welcoming.
This has to be my most useful video I’ve seen in a very long time! Thank you for not running your sentences together at break neck speed so we have time to absorb your content. Thank you SO much.
Thank you, Annie! I've been sewing for a fair while and still learned that I have lots to learn. I'll be watching this video a few more times! Thanks again!
Wow! Zippers by the foot, how nifty!! I'm so glad I found your channel! Zippers have been the worst for me in sewing. In dresses they never come out even at the top so I've always avoided making any kind of bag or purse. Sadly, my very favorite purse was damaged by my daughter's pet pig last Sept, so I've wanted to figure out how to fix the zipper or just make a new one since I can't find anything in the store I like. I bought it on our Bahamas cruise in Dec 2017. I guess it's time for a change anyway. I'm headed to your website to look for a similar pattern. We have several sleeping bags that need new zippers too. I hope your website has that kind of zipper too. Thanks for the awesome tutorial!
I was hoping to see a video tutorial of the project bag. I'm always more successful if I can follow along on a video. If you have that video, please let me know how to see it. I already purchased the project bag pattern.

Wow! Great info in this video. Two questions. I saw it work but how come the zipper tape doesn’t need small snips for curves, two, what foot are you using? I have Pfaff machine and zipper foot looks very different
Because we attach zippers to our projects with a narrow 1/4" seam, the zipper tape manages to go around the curves in our projects quite well. Because zipper tape frays so much, we prefer NOT to snip it at all. We sew on a BERNINA machine and LOVE LOVE LOVE the #37 1/4" foot. I think that the Pfaff has a similar 1/4" foot.
The measurements in our pattern include the extra length -- so you can use the length shown in the pattern. If you're working on a different project, though, you may need to add extra.
ANNIE YOU ARE VERY INFORMATIVE AND REAL EASY TO UNDERSTAND ESPECIALLY FOR A BEGINNER LIKE ME! DO YOU HAVE A PHONE NUMBER THAT WE CAN CALL TO ORDER AND ASK QUESTIONS? IS THERE A PACKAGE WITH EXTRA PULLS FOR REPLACING ZIPPERS? DO THESE ZIPPER PULLS WORK ON ANY ZIPPER OR JUST ANNIE'S ZIPPERS?😊😊😊😊 THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR ALL YOUR HELP! 😊😊😊😊😍😍😍😍
Thank you for your kind comments. You can order through our website (ByAnnie.com) or ask questions by emailing us at info@byannie.com. We do sell extra pulls both individually or in sets of 12 or 24. All of our zippers are #4.5 handbag zippers. Zipper pulls also have to be #4.5. So, our zipper pulls may not work on other zippers -- they have to be #4.5 zippers. Most dress/skirt zippers are #3 and some handbag zippers are #6. Again, please email us if we can answer any other questions.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! Annie you have opened a whole new line of quilting and sewing items for me! This is such a good informational video!
You're very welcome! We're so glad it was helpful.

WAY TO GO CASEY!
You are such a great teacher Annie. ❤
Have invested in zippers by the yard. So much easier.
Absolutely worth the time! Plus, the added bang for your buck is hard to beat.
Can your technique be used on regular zips to make a two way zip or are the teeth made differently?
Thank you. Awesome info.
Could you please do a tutorial on an open ended zipper and fixing stoppers at both ends from a tape by the yard I am a complete novice , thank you.
Thank you for such and informational video!! Do you keep a separate rotary cutter just for cutting zippers?
Thank you 😊💓
Great video, but I can't find the PDFs.

So when you are measuring for the zipper do you add an extra inch or 2, or does the measurement that is given already has this extra length ?
The measurements in our pattern include the extra length -- so you can use the length shown in the pattern. If you're working on a different project, though, you may need to add extra.
