I love that this album is blue, it really reflects the sound of this one. Just as pink/red did loveless, great addition and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life listening to these songs over and over just like before.

Start with Sometimes if you want to get someone into shoe gaze. It's an accessible song. Starting Over by LSD and the Search for God, and Let the Sun by Marigold are also great starter songs to get their ears acclimated to this type of music - all 3 of these songs are easy to keep up with due to the beat and have little discord. This song has great discord which people aren't used to.... since most songs that are popular are played in the key of G, which is harmonic and pleasing to the ear.
I tend to think unromantic people don't like this type of music, was she imaginative and romantic? or more of an uptight critical person?

It's amazing. I remember so vividly the first time hearing this song, and that one chord kicked in, and it sounded like the song was going to come off the rails, and the followup chord made the whole thing make sense, and thinking "Kevin is a genius." Then the vocals kicked in and I was sobbing.

Still a fucking masterpiece. I love the direction they went in for this album. After seeing them live 2 July’s ago this became my favorite Album they’ve released. Excited to see what they put out next.
YES! I love it because its kinda a concept album - the first three tracks represent the past as they sound most like MBV's previous work. The next third is the present - calm and dreamy pop tunes. And the last three tracks, defined by jungle drums, chaotic sounds and general uncertainty, represent the future.
The world did not end Mayan style. The new My Bloody Valentine record final came out. Unicorns do exists. And there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. All is well.

When I first heard 'Loveless' I didnt like it. Now i realise MBV music transcends time and space
It took me a long time to get into MBV. One of those bands that I just didn't get for a long time until one day it finally made sense. Just because you don't like something initially doesn't mean you need to discard and discredit it. Try listening to it again someday and maybe you'll feel differently.

@@jimtroeltsch5998 there are pre-orders up on their website. It's the 30th Loveless anniversary, so they signed to Domino Records and now their discography is available on streaming services. They also launched pre-orders on some merch
On top of this all - Kevin said in an interview with New York Times that there will be two new albums coming by the end of this year or next year

There are songs (including many by this band) that are sad and depressing... But I feel like this is on an entirely different level. This song epitomizes the feeling of pure hopelessness. As someone who has struggled with suicidal thoughts, that "say goodbye" line and the way it's delivered make this song genuine sui fuel.
Well said. As someone who has already attempted "sueisfine" a couple of times and still hasn't really recovered, I feel the same way about this song depicting pure hopelessness. I honestly can't listen to it without crying.
@@KimGhidorah I really feel like discovering MBV during the great lockdown of 2020 was both a blessing and a curse - it's music that both gets me through my lowest times and is also sometimes a painful reminder of how much I have blown my chance as a successful human in this society. I feel you.
That being said, honestly, the knowledge that music as great and powerful as MBV exists in this world has been one of the reasons I've decided to not do it, and I sincerely wish your full recovery from this. It's those kinds of jokey jokes we make to each other about our depression that proves the worth in our existence. The shared love of this music. the amount of times I’ve listened to this song to run away, this song is truly special
I remember I first got loveless when I was 15, and I had preconceived ideas about it, and was quite disappointed when it wasn't what I expected, but I started listening to it more and began to understand it musically. I just really like the melodies intertwined with the wall of guitars and airy vocals, which makes a thick "wall of sound" effect. It was an acquired taste for me, and now I love it.
