One of the greatest band ever !!!!!

Dammit, dude, you had so much talent. You had so much to live for. And I get it. I've been to that dark place too. Nobody could write lyrics so hard and solemn without so much pain. But dammit, man, there was still so much more to see and learn and experience. I hope wherever you are, you're at peace now.

He threw his kids under the metaphorical bus, his band, and his entire musical legacy, with one stupid drunken mistake. Rock and Roll history has a habit of not forgiving suicides by hanging. Heroin ? Yes. Car crashes and drownings, yes. Shotgun ? Yes. But not hanging. Michael Hutchence legacy also was wrecked because of his means of suicide too.
Stuart would have been revitalized by The Skids reforming. It would have been magnificent to see him and Jobbo strut their stuff again.

@@johnny5805 More harsh than I would have put it, but I see your point. It's just depression, even without the compounding factors of alcohol or heroin, it really messes up your way of thinking. It's fucking demonic. It genuinely convinces you that people you love really would be better off if you were dead. Like the hero in a movie who sacrifices himself for his friends and family. And even when you think "But wouldn't killing myself be a horribly selfish thing to do?" that evil bastard whispers in your ear "Haven't you suffered enough? Don't you deserve to be a little selfish? Everyone else is."

🎼Spent six of the last seven shows in the US with INXS. A fan, I wasn't working on their caravan. Got to know them pretty well as was my plan. Great bunch of guys by all accounts. Clambered up on the stage at the Beacon theater in New York during the encore. 🎤Michael was dancing around doing "don't change" with two girls. One of them was my brother's old girlfriend. I heard someone calling my name right before the encore. I waved her up to the front. Didn't even realize she climbed up on the stage behind me. I went to the back and I was rapping on the symbols with Jon after grabbing a couple of sticks. He was laughing his ass off.
Michael even brought the baby out on stage for a moment or two. Those were heady days when the storm trooper security was actually backing off and letting people run wild.
Michael had changed a bit. He seemed to be fighting something. I still have some incredible memories and photographs to go with it. The guys were a lot of fun and always grateful as I'm sure they still are. Timmy said when you get down to Oz, Look me up we're going out on the boat.
🎸As time went by then the news about Stuart came out.... Another heartbreak. I knew quite a bit about what was going on there as well.
I've said my prayers for these guys. I can't imagine their final hours. I would venture to say everybody thought about it at some dark point in their life. I'm fortunate I've learned to soldier on...... I will have my rendezvous with Christ, I know I have to have something solid to lay on the table when it's over. I'm trying to learn more every day and stay in the boundaries of his graces. I see it more clearly every day. I'm not perfect, but that's the road. I want to go down. I would love to see these two chaps again when it's over...... Sadly, they were walking a thin line, but it's not mine to judge.
And I damn well know it....

@@warrenbutterfield4208 Well said. I'm not a religious guy myself. Lapsed Catholic agnostic, classic Irish stereotype. But I do see the good religion does, especially Christianity. If it's good to you, it's gotta be good for you.

That little smile on his face at the end just KILLS me. A perfect song, a perfect ending. It could have almost been about his life. I found this song during Covid and all the lockdown and loneliness that came with it. This song is simply amazing. One of his best, IMHO.

I have to add that for those of us that play guitar… As soon as I saw, he was using a telecaster in this one… I said to myself, he's gonna throw a few drops of Nashville in there. After they had done a number of tours and probably seen things, they never dreamed of… You get your ears perked up a little bit.,,,,,, And I'll be damned if he didn't know exactly what to do with that thing adding a couple simple flourishes to the song and he nailed that ending just like he wanted to. He seemed to be in a more peaceful place at that point. Lord knows what changed I can only hope for forgiveness for Stuart. We all have to work at it, it's harder than my mother ever told me. However, I'm never gonna quit. I want to be in the right place when I pass....✝️

I have followed Stuart since the very early days in The Skids( loved him and that band as well)to Big Country's 1st Single and everything he did. One of my all time favorite musicians ever. I feel more than fortunate and honestly blessed to be able to listen and witness his journey while on my journey. Such a massive talent and an honest and passionate soul. THANK YOU STUART..for sharing your work and your beautiful art with those of us who could lend an ear. Helped me to understand the true meaning of "being yourself,,be who you are,,be the original you and feel everything along the way". Thank You Stuart..Rest In Gods Hands My Friend,,You Have Erned So..

Here's praying we pass on the right side. I know where I want to be and I've learned how to get there and like everybody I need to work even harder at it.

A band that went under the Radar , I don't know why? Saw them live in late 80's in Manchester , Stuart was ripping that guitar, a great talent sadly gone, such a catalogue of songs yet we only ever hear the one.

Funny, I listened and DJ'd just about everything back then..... unfortunately, even some of the crappies dance music for the punters... But these guys just blasted off the radio, and the MTV and they definitely caught the ear of my metalhead friends.
The pedals, the Ebows And a mix of fenders and Gibsons..... Done properly will usually grab ears. It might not have.
      🫵🏻yours perhaps

My all-time favorite BC track. Though it's too bad they edited out some of Stuart's greatest guitar work on this song. You need to check the version on "The Buffalo Skinners" record. Brilliant. And I never knew what a B-Bender guitar was before I finally learned that's how Stuart got that pedal steel effect. Always thought that was either Bruce or a studio player. It's amazing how smoothly he transitions from that sound to his solos...
