Dammit, dude, you had so much talent. You had so much to live for. And I get it. I've been to that dark place too. Nobody could write lyrics so hard and solemn without so much pain. But dammit, man, there was still so much more to see and learn and experience. I hope wherever you are, you're at peace now.
Yes.
He threw his kids under the metaphorical bus, his band, and his entire musical legacy, with one stupid drunken mistake. Rock and Roll history has a habit of not forgiving suicides by hanging. Heroin ? Yes. Car crashes and drownings, yes. Shotgun ? Yes. But not hanging. Michael Hutchence legacy also was wrecked because of his means of suicide too.
Stuart would have been revitalized by The Skids reforming. It would have been magnificent to see him and Jobbo strut their stuff again.
@@johnny5805 More harsh than I would have put it, but I see your point. It's just depression, even without the compounding factors of alcohol or heroin, it really messes up your way of thinking. It's fucking demonic. It genuinely convinces you that people you love really would be better off if you were dead. Like the hero in a movie who sacrifices himself for his friends and family. And even when you think "But wouldn't killing myself be a horribly selfish thing to do?" that evil bastard whispers in your ear "Haven't you suffered enough? Don't you deserve to be a little selfish? Everyone else is."
One of the greatest band ever !!!!!
That little smile on his face at the end just KILLS me. A perfect song, a perfect ending. It could have almost been about his life. I found this song during Covid and all the lockdown and loneliness that came with it. This song is simply amazing. One of his best, IMHO.
He was absolutely amazing. A horrifically sad, sad story.
The drink, no man is above it, we should all be careful
I love Stuarts shirt. He’s such a brilliant guitar player.
Sorely missed Mr Adamson💔
The genius of the great stuart adamson will never die.👍
One of why favs, turn up the volume and lay back and enjoy the musical journey.....
What a beautiful song! More people need to hear this!
Haven't heard this in year's such a classic big country song
Remember hearing IN A BIG COUNTRY in the early 80s when it premiered on MTV, just blew me away! Being a Metal head it was a big difference from what my norm was, have been a fan ever since. Buffalo skinners being my favorite album of theirs, amazing music from a fantastic band..
Same here love my metal and rock but always loved The Skids and Big Country .

That guitar solo is pure magic 💙
Legend my all time favourite band, will never be forgotten ❤
I have followed Stuart since the very early days in The Skids( loved him and that band as well)to Big Country's 1st Single and everything he did. One of my all time favorite musicians ever. I feel more than fortunate and honestly blessed to be able to listen and witness his journey while on my journey. Such a massive talent and an honest and passionate soul. THANK YOU STUART..for sharing your work and your beautiful art with those of us who could lend an ear. Helped me to understand the true meaning of "being yourself,,be who you are,,be the original you and feel everything along the way". Thank You Stuart..Rest In Gods Hands My Friend,,You Have Erned So..
Well said. Skids too were brilliant. Got me through some tough times
How can you dislike this!!
I agree - how is it possible not to like this???
My favourite Big Country song 💙💙
I just want to give Stuart a hug and scream, please stay.
Great song, great album, great man and band!
This just auto played on my TV; never heard it before, now I'm listening to it over and over. I'm blown away. R.I.P. Stuart, I wish I knew your music sooner.
Big country big sound Top band 2023
And 2024🏴🏴
canzone molto struggente e malinconica pero molto attuale a quei tempi grande songwriter
Legend, cracking song
My all-time favorite BC track. Though it's too bad they edited out some of Stuart's greatest guitar work on this song. You need to check the version on "The Buffalo Skinners" record. Brilliant. And I never knew what a B-Bender guitar was before I finally learned that's how Stuart got that pedal steel effect. Always thought that was either Bruce or a studio player. It's amazing how smoothly he transitions from that sound to his solos...
fantastic!! always feel sad when i see Sir Stewart of Adamson😥
Amazing song, but a tough listen at times as we know what happened to Stuart. Love the live versions of this as well. Underrated song.
A yuh
I remember this was a good song - so underrated.
Listening again i feel it is one of BC's best, most powerful and memorable songs! 🏴 Long live Stuart Adamson's legacy 👏
Indeed, a theme through there history. So good live too. ❤

Lovely song. Should be re-recorded by the current Big Country lineup with a classic style BC guitar sound.

Fine pop song by Big Country.
A band that went under the Radar , I don't know why? Saw them live in late 80's in Manchester , Stuart was ripping that guitar, a great talent sadly gone, such a catalogue of songs yet we only ever hear the one.
Absolutely fantastic song!!!
Glasgow Barrowland THE FINAL FLING, never forget it
Pure class
