Here’s a hack for those who really love the bag/insert utility & ergonomics but cannot afford $100 for the insert alone. Fieldline Tactical makes the same type of ruck. When the 42L ruck is paired with Wessleco Tool roll-up you’ve accomplished the exact same same utility with an essentially bombproof pack that’s $35 on Amazon and a 16A heavy duty insert that’s $19 (also Amazon) Tbh the married elements look a little tidier in this video but the “poor mans” option is $60 out the door for both. Anyhow this is a great video and it’s nice to see top notch gear featured throughout. The way I think about gear is like “I’ll spend low on the ruck and high on optics. Spend low on my bottle/cup combo and high on boots” But we all have different financial barriers. Here on the West Coast after rent & a fill up there’s nothing left for a burger….let alone too many wise cracks😉
FIRST: Thank you for the info, I'm on disability, so 'low income'. I really appreciate when folks like you think of others & share valuable info. Many times in the past we "Americans" have had to move. The east was settled by people that moved. The midwest was settled by people that moved. The west was settled by people that moved. IMO, the left coast is toast. Have a GREAT day, Neighbor!
Great content, also you have a good presentation. One thing, please either edit your camera alignment or use a videographer. Most of the bag was out of frame nearly the entire video.
Got the 5col insert. Only thing I don’t like is how noisy the zippers are. Replaced them with the paracord/heat shrink pulls. Other than that it’s g2g.
Congratulations to you who have that "survival bag, which is not available." But the rest of us have at least been lucky enough to see the video and thus survive.
You can occasionally find a really good deal on a surplus SKRAM bag on Ebay. We are also working on a slightly modified version that will go into production later this year. Bag will be a little bigger, and will have attachment points for a Hill People Gear shoulder harness upgrade.
@@ThePreparedWanderer the ones I have are black with green trim . 1.5" tall 2.5" square. Opens up to be about 6" tall. Has 3 light modes high low and flash. Is rechargeable by either solar or USB charger. And can be used as a power supply for charging your phone
The edible/poisonous cards are neat. Items like first aid stuff, you're better off building your own kid. It's much cheaper to buy the pieces, build a kit for the bag and use the rest at home. Replace the expirable water purification tablets with a mini sawyer. One last thing, It's S-C. You're pronunciation of ESEE was killing me every time LOL. On that note, I love ESEE knives, but their accessory products like fire starters, etc. are way overpriced. And I know you want to pimp this website, but a lot of the products (including ESEE knives), always shop around. I'll give them props for very competitive, if not the best, prices I've seen on ESEE knives.
"EZ-E" Knives lol First time I've heard it pronounced with a Z haha, but yea I agree..they're probably my favorite production knife company out there, I have alot of their knives & products. I might have missed it, but where's the multitool? Every good kit has to have a multitool man lol. I'll tell you what I did, because I could afford to put a friggin Leatherman in each of mine, so I grabbed some of those Ozark Trail Multiforce's. If you can get past who makes them, they are an *excellent* tool, *especially* for a budged option. It's about $40 *after* taxes, and they come with not only a decent sheath, but a bit extender too, which accepts full size industry standard 1/4" bits! It's basically a Gen 2 Wave, everything is the same, except that it has a full size bit driver. Just a really good option if you have alot of kits, but can't afford to put a $100+ MT in each of them.
Only the backpack, most everything else is very reasonable and in fact a great deal for the quality. I bought a usgi signal mirror, stormproof matches, tinder tabs, and the signaling aviation panels
I've bought some 5 Col tinder tabs 50 for 11 dollars and it comes in a resealable bag they make great gear they have a water purification and wirl pack bag bundle for 20 dollars I'm actually about to buy just to have extra
I AGREE THIS WEBSITE IS EXPANSIVE AND ITS HARD CORE GEAR.
so i tried going to website and not ablw
@@manuelafischer5444 They have a presence on Amazon that might work for you.

The best teacher is experience, each time you go out, you'll learn what is needed and next time you'll have it..
I was lucky enough to get the bag, insert, and most of the original kit still inside. It's good to have friends in the military lol.
I really enjoy the prepared wanderer . About as to the point you can get! Outstanding video. Thankyou.
Awesome video. Am I the only one that noticed the tick crawling up his shirt in the beginning?
I was wondering the same. I spent 7 years at Ft Hood, Texas and hate the little bastards!
Thanks for the info! Sounds great 😊. I am going to definitely get some stuff.
Thank you, Mr. Wanderer!

Never herd a bug like I did on this. Lol

Most stuff is sold out. Not the greatest website.
Yeah they don't carry much anymore.
This stuff is for wealthy folks that don't know better. $15 bucks plus shipping for a coffee cup ? No Thanks, I'll go to Walmart.
There is no $15 shipping or coffee cup. What are you talking about?
