Hey Guys!! Here's how I preserve my Wash and Go overnight on my type 4 natural hair! This is the only way I've been able to successfully "pineapple" my type 4 curls so that they don't get too stretched out of shape! I hope it helps! Xo! Nap 💗

      Naptural85
hey Naptural85! Thanks for the video! my question is what if the hair isn't as long as your hairlength? how does the pineapple would come out as
loose as your loose pineapple? I know that you don't short hair....but do you an idea? could recommend something for those who have short hair? thanks in advance! Villemonde!

I do something very similar. First I use the scrunchy to gather my curls and tie my scarf, then I remove the scrunchy. It's kind of the same thing you're doing, but it helps me not to tie curls up in the knot of the scarf which was a big problem for me.

Villemonde Zamor hi I have short hair and I find that putting my hair into 3-5 small pineapples. That way the middle and the back aren't too stretched.

I feel that texture plays more of a role. Silky and thread textures seem to be able to pineapple easier (think Mahogany Curls and Sun Kissed Alba) while wiry, cottony, and spongy hairs tend to stay where you put it.
I just wear a slap cap and keep my hair in a downward position. And then I spray with water in the morning or wash.

    • @Jayariee
      @Jayariee 7 років тому +12

I always thought i was cottony but once i pineapple my hair i wake up with my curls stretched/frizzed to the point it looks blow dried. If i slap on a cap it mattes up and still looses all the definition so i gave up

After being natural for four years (but relying on a lot of tight ponytail/puffs and twist outs), you rediscovering your wash and go has helped me finally figure out how to do my hair (same hair type). Which is so needed right now, as I have been really depressed over my hair thinning from birth control and likely tight puffs. Thank you, Whitney.

But most importantly, you have such an aura of positivity around you. You embody the essence of happiness and satisfaction in being who you are. And it is amazing to watch that in every episode. I wish all youtubers would learn that from you. Thank you so much for all your amazing videos and taking time out to show us all you have learned on your natural hair journey. lindy marks I do a few mini pineapples-one for the crown, one closer to the name , one for the front, and a couple for the sides. Wrap it in a scarf of bonnet, fluff she finger comb a little in the morning, & go. I may look 4 years old everynight but it works.

I have shoulder length hair but with shrinkage it looks medium to short length . The pineapple always messes with my definition so what I do is wear my bonnet. The next morning spritz with a little water with my misting bottle and put a plastic cap on for about 10 mins then I lift at roots with my hands (not disturbing curls) , shake and go.

The traditional pineapple never worked for me either. So I stopped doing it and I'd just re-twist my hair at night - which is very tedious. This looks like a great idea; I'll definitely be trying it in the future.

I usually just do a bun at night, but I decided to try this and I'm sure it will work. If so I'll definitely let my subbies know that's your technique is bomb!

I love this technique I'm trying it on my next wash n go. Can you make a video showing how you preserve your twist outs. Thanks

I do 3 pineapples 1 on front and 2 on the sides. That loose scarf would be on the floor under the bed somewhere. I wear pantyhose or my hair would smell stale in the am.

Curly Rhoday Ooh, I have to try that! I would use pantyhose back in the day for my wraps, but I bet they'll hold curls even better.

Yay Whit!! Thank you for helping us find another way to preserve the curls. I tried banding and it makes my hair fall funny, too many spaces and sections with the irritating band marks. You always find a way for the lazy days👍💗

Thank you so much! The result yields a more relaxed and natural repeat of the previous days style.

A month and a half ago, I did the big chop and had no clue what to do with my hair at night😬 Finally I decided to try a scarf using this technique! That is how I preserve my curls every night lol I joke that my hair looks is like a lunch lady wearing a hair net! But I can now go practically a week on a fresh wash n go because of it!
