For the second state in our “50 States in a Year'' series, we’re visiting Mississippi, specifically the Gulf Coast also known as the Secret Coast. We had one day to explore the 62 miles of coastline, starting on the west end of the coast in Bay St. Louis, and working our way east through 12 unique coastal towns before ending our day watching the sunset on the beach in Ocean Springs! While 24 hours in Coastal Mississippi isn’t nearly enough time to experience all that this amazing area has to offer, it’s definitely enough time to realize that you need to plan a return visit!

People don’t seem to know the Gulf Coast of Mississippi ..I hear so many misconceptions. I love it there and Ocean Springs bay St. Louis , Biloxi is a great town ..people are nice very charming so are the southern towns . I love the long drive miles of beach .❤beautiful ..

We lived in Ocean Springs Mississippi from 2004 to 2005 and then hurricane Katrina came. My husband was stationed in Biloxi I loved it and I was sad to leave❤

Fun Fact: The Biloxi Lighthouse is the only lighthouse in the United States that sits in the middle of a four-lane highway (US 90). The city always has it decorated beautifully for the Christmas season.

If you ever come back to our Mississippi coast you need to try Salutes, almost next door to The Chimney. Also Tator Nut in Ocean Springs has fabulous donuts. Glad you guys enjoyed our little towns.

Highway 90 is the nicest scenic drive besides Lakeshore Drive in Chicago!
I agree. Lake Shore Drive is magnificent, especially early Saturday morning just after sunrise.

I used to work at The Chimneys! Not only is the food and atmosphere A+ but the owners/chefs/waitstaff are amazing too. It may look upscale but everything on the Coast tends to be quite casual, I'm sure they wouldn't have minded one bit if you'd filmed inside 😃. If you come back this way, you MUST go to Mary Mahoney's in Biloxi. The owners of the Roost have also opened up another boutique hotel in the middle of downtown OS called The Hemingway... it's just beautiful :) and Cat Island Coffeehouse in Pass Christian is a must-see gem!

Amazing job, I'm from Mexico and I enjoy watching vlogs because I learn more English vocabulary, it improves my listening skills, I'm also working on accent reduction just to sound more like a native speaker and I do it through videos due to it's a more natural and fun way to do it, I hope I could visit Biloxi any time.

My family lives on the Northshore of Lake Pontchartrain (about 30 min from NOLA). Sad Cafe Du Monde wasn't your favorite beignet (my son works at the location in Covington). AZ is famous for spring training! Book a game at salt river fields and sit in the lawn! Bring a blanket and lots of sunblock with have a margarita and a hot dog and it’s amazing. Red rocks of Sedona are gorgeous. Wandering around down town mesa on main street is amazing. And of of course the Grand Canyon.

Great video of one of my favorite coasts! It's amazing to see the coast transformed back to life after Hurricane Katrina in 2005 which wiped it out for several years. I hope you can come back during the summer one year. It's fantastic and a hidden gem for vacationers looking to do something else besides Florida. Sorry Nat! 😉😊

I'm doing my best to upload but my wedding season is starting up and it gets hard working two jobs. I over booked with weddings thinking no one would book me and finally now just raised my prices. Now I have to fulfill each wedding. I hope to do less weddings next year to have more time for UA-cam for sure. It's so much fun. I absolutely just love going out and just having a blast. I seriously want to recreate this WHOLE TRIP!! OMG THIS LOOKED AMAZING!! From the coffee shop & Chickens, to the Friendship Oak, Lunch at Chimneys, and that Pop up dinner on the beach Swoon, and definitely want to go through that bookcase door, holy smokes The Wilbur bar was cool!

Love the Mississippi coast been here most of my life but, the trash along side roads, streets, even parking lots is unbearable, and unbelievable especially in Gulfport Mississippi from old discarded mattress to fast food bags and much more 🥹 please city of Gulfport Mississippi the ground isn't your personal trash dumpster!!! Don't litter have respect for ourselves and our home town

It’s one of the eight out of twelve cities across Coastal Mississippi not showcased in the video. (The other seven not mentioned: Waveland, Diamondhead, Pass Christian, Long Beach, Gautier, Moss Point, Pascagoula.) There is so much more to the region than these DMO-pushed basics.

@@AdventuresofMattandNat we have Petit Boise island and Horn island you can visit. For eatery we have Bozo's Too (definitely order from the steamed menu if you can), Brady's Steak and Seafood, Dexter's, Trina Sweet Treats, Bo's Sno Zone & Snacks, Krebs House and we have events especially during Mardi Gras time. Its a very quaint place and we have a relaxing beach where you can sit at the park and enjoy yourself.

For Biloxi, unless you plan to stay at the hotel/casino the whole time, you would probably want a car...or you could easily Uber for the handful of times you would probably plan to leave! Hahaha right?! It’s a beautiful part of the country! It’s crazy to have these beautiful plantation homes with huge oak trees right up next to the ocean with palm trees! Definitely recommend checking out Coastal Mississippi!

Been to Mississippi 4 times now. I hated it. Every town and city looked half abandoned. But I've never been to the Mississippi coast. Looks cool actually
Haha… Honestly, we felt the same going into our trip there. Hadn’t ever really seen much that we liked about Mississippi, but Coastal Mississippi is a totally different thing! Especially Bay St. Louis and Ocean Springs! Ocean Springs was probably our favorite area.
@@AdventuresofMattandNat the coast of MS should be its own state! I'm originally from north MS but moved to the coast about 4 years ago. What a difference a few hours makes! However, if you ever check out Oxford on a game day, you might want to hang out awhile. Thanks for visiting our beautiful Gulf Coast! A note on the Friendship Oak…Prior to Hurricane Katrina one of the decks in the tree was at least 16 feet long. My family and I had lunch in it one day. The tree was also was the white of many weddings.
