As others have noted, Matt got the pronunciation right. Honestly, I'm much more impressed that he managed to pass the "wearing dark clothes while eating beignets" challenge. A dollar for every time that I've seen someone walk away from that looking like a speckled trout. :)

@@AdventuresofMattandNat I'll give y'all a couple of "off the beaten path" suggestions. Red Rock Canyon in the NW valley is awesome for both driving and hiking. Hoover Dam and Boulder City are a nice change of pace getaway. Both are about 25-35 minutes from The Strip. The Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge has a walkway that gives you excellent views of the Dam and the Colorado River (800 feet below if you go out to the middle.) If you go into BC, take Nevada Way into the downtown area. There's many great places there. (2 favorites are Milo's and Little City Grille.) Hope that this helps.
As a New Orleans resident, i recommend coming back to New Orleans for a day or two when covid is over to see New Orleans when mardi gras happens because we are known for going all out (which is accurate) And Maybe see City park because it is known to be the biggest park in new Orleans being 1,300 acres long or something like that.

My beignets were eaten at Cafe du Mond. Oh, you were there in the winter. No wonder you weren't drenched in sweat like I was when I visited in the summer a few years ago. When I was there, I took a bayou tour up in the corner of LA, and it was great! Then, the following summer I drove a rental to Lafayette, where I got to see a live zydeco band, and get on a food tour, all of which was well worth it.

I do the very same thing- create a laundry list of things to do, see and taste. I always struggle with doing them in order of location. Have you found a way to map out activities in a way that you don’t end up back tracking or doing things out of whack because you have no clue he proximity of one thing from the next?
Ahh love that you do that as well! It’s the best way to experience a place! So what we usually do is create a list on Google Maps and put it all the places we want to see and map it out via proximity & make our plan via that so we can hit as many places as possibly BUTTT that’s the perfect scenario... you know how it is, sometimes things don’t go as planned Lol 😂

My late wife and I sat at the same table as you at Dumond. We had terrible service, the product wasn’t great. They brought the coffee and it was wrong. Plus it took over a 1/2 hr to even get the coffee. We were disappointed too.

Yea so it’s a scam... they want you to engage with their “game” and when you play it they want money in return and won’t leave you alone unless you pay them. So whatever you do, just don’t interact. You’ll also have people trying to put beads on your neck & ask for money. Those were the only things that happened to us and they were specifically on bourbon street. Hope that helps! 💗-Nat
The shoe thing goes like this (I personally observed a colleague get scammed): A random guy will come up to you and say "I bet you I can tell you where you got your shoes". My colleague took the bait and said "OK". After agreeing on the wager amount the scammer will say "You got 'em on the bottom of your feet". Pretty lame/stupid but now you're out $5. I saw this scam again just last year and yelled "at the bottom of your feet" before the tourist got scammed and earned some really dirty looks lol.

Depending on where you are staying in relation to the French quarter we walked everywhere and took the streetcar which would take you to most popular places! The tickets for the streetcar, we bought on the streetcar (exact change only.... 24hr pass is $3) so that helped us get to the garden district. But we walked everywhere else. No we didn’t have any issues other than people trying to talk/sell to us or trick us into a scam (the shoe question) & trying to give us beads. We try to never carry cash on us but I hope something like that doesn’t happen to y’all. Hate to hear that’s happened to people you know. I do have a crossbody bag that’s slash proof & always keep in the front of me (for pick pockets) let us know your experience when you come back next month! I love that Cafe Beignet on Royal. The setting is so beautiful and intimate vs Cafe Du Monde. And Cafe Beignet has a few other favorites like Red Beans and Rice that you can sample.

@@AdventuresofMattandNat I'll give y'all a couple of "off the beaten path" suggestions. Red Rock Canyon in the NW valley is awesome for both driving and hiking. Hoover Dam and Boulder City are a nice change of pace getaway. Both are about 25-35 minutes from The Strip. The Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge has a walkway that gives you excellent views of the Dam and the Colorado River (800 feet below if you go out to the middle.) If you go into BC, take Nevada Way into the downtown area. There's many great places there. (2 favorites are Milo's and Little City Grille.) Hope that this helps.

As a New Orleans resident, i recommend coming back to New Orleans for a day or two when covid is over to see New Orleans when mardi gras happens because we are known for going all out (which is accurate)
And Maybe see City park because it is known to be the biggest park in new Orleans being 1,300 acres long or something like that.

My beignets were eaten at Cafe du Mond. Oh, you were there in the winter. No wonder you weren't drenched in sweat like I was when I visited in the summer a few years ago.
When I was there, I took a bayou tour up in the corner of LA, and it was great! Then, the following summer I drove a rental to Lafayette, where I got to see a live zydeco band, and get on a food tour, all of which was well worth it.
Love New Orleans! Also prefer Cafe Beignet. They not only have excellent beignets, they have really good corn chowder.

I do the very same thing- create a laundry list of things to do, see and taste. I always struggle with doing them in order of location. Have you found a way to map out activities in a way that you don’t end up back tracking or doing things out of whack because you have no clue he proximity of one thing from the next?
Ahh love that you do that as well! It’s the best way to experience a place! So what we usually do is create a list on Google Maps and put it all the places we want to see and map it out via proximity & make our plan via that so we can hit as many places as possibly BUTTT that’s the perfect scenario... you know how it is, sometimes things don’t go as planned Lol 😂

My late wife and I sat at the same table as you at Dumond. We had terrible service, the product wasn’t great. They brought the coffee and it was wrong. Plus it took over a 1/2 hr to even get the coffee. We were disappointed too.

What does it mean when they ask where did you get those shoes
Yea so it’s a scam... they want you to engage with their “game” and when you play it they want money in return and won’t leave you alone unless you pay them. So whatever you do, just don’t interact. You’ll also have people trying to put beads on your neck & ask for money. Those were the only things that happened to us and they were specifically on bourbon street. Hope that helps! 💗-Nat

The shoe thing goes like this (I personally observed a colleague get scammed): A random guy will come up to you and say "I bet you I can tell you where you got your shoes". My colleague took the bait and said "OK". After agreeing on the wager amount the scammer will say "You got 'em on the bottom of your feet". Pretty lame/stupid but now you're out $5. I saw this scam again just last year and yelled "at the bottom of your feet" before the tourist got scammed and earned some really dirty looks lol.

Depending on where you are staying in relation to the French quarter we walked everywhere and took the streetcar which would take you to most popular places! The tickets for the streetcar, we bought on the streetcar (exact change only.... 24hr pass is $3) so that helped us get to the garden district. But we walked everywhere else. No we didn’t have any issues other than people trying to talk/sell to us or trick us into a scam (the shoe question) & trying to give us beads. We try to never carry cash on us but I hope something like that doesn’t happen to y’all. Hate to hear that’s happened to people you know. I do have a crossbody bag that’s slash proof & always keep in the front of me (for pick pockets) let us know your experience when you come back next month! I love that Cafe Beignet on Royal. The setting is so beautiful and intimate vs Cafe Du Monde. And Cafe Beignet has a few other favorites like Red Beans and Rice that you can sample.
