This was a super fun project to think about and write for, thanks for the inclusion! Love the fuzzy texture and the erratic movements - really helps bring Beedrill alive!
I love all your work! Great video! I do wonder what your shorts on man made pokemon will be like. Are they gonna be invasive? Do they even eat? I know you made one of claydol and baltoy but those are more ancient than modern.
I love the idea that Viridian Forest is so much bigger than seen in-game, and the part we visit as Red is the safe path that isn't full of terrifying level 60 Beedrill. The bit about the effect of Beedrill's predation on the forest is lovely, too. Nature often seems violent and cruel but everything in an ecosystem serves a purpose, and in the world of Pokémon those purposes would be well understood.
Beedrill would be my worst nightmare... I'm already TERRIFIED of bees and wasps and other stingy crap, so I'd be shitting bricks if I saw a wasp the size of a beagle with stingers the size of poison covered swords coming after me.
Don't worry man, I also have the fear of bees, especially african and japanese bees. And dare I say red ants/army ants, those insects are NASTY to deal with.
I love the model for the Beedrill, with my only nitpick being the forelimb stingers. They look a bit too… perfect? They have an almost metallic look to them, it just looks kind of off. That out of the way, I love any type of ecology based video on fictional creatures. Yours are always fun and impressive.
It would have been cool to see Weedle in the video as well! I only saw Kakuna and Beedrill. Such a missed opportunity! Weedle deserves some spotlight too! 🐛🐝
Pokemon made me feel not alone when I was a kid and still does to this day. This series is honestly a dream come true. Now if someone would fill our national parks and others with hologram projectors, having pokemon run around and interact that'd be just swell...lookin' at you Japan.
TBH, I actually tried to suggest something similar to the Minnesota Zoo. Given the popularity and the fact that several rarer species of animals became known thanks to Pokémon, I thought it would be fun (maybe as a limited time event of some kind) to do a cross-promotion where several of the animal exhibits there also featured the Pokémon that were based on those specific animals. At the time, however, they said it might not be a good idea as it might bring all the weirdos out. Then Pokémon GO happened and the "weirdos" came anyway. With the Zoo pointing out all the locations there that were PokéStops and Gyms. "GO" figure. BTW...FUN FACT (channeling Lockstin): Beedrill is based on the Yellowjacket Wasp, a species known as a "bee imposter" due to the fact it uses its coloration to invade bee hives and take them over. FUN FACT #2: Not long after Gen 7 and the Alola Region were introduced, the Minnesota Zoo actually welcomed Harp Seals, a seal native to Hawaii and what the Popplio line is based on, to their Aquarium area.
@@grass_snake80 I agree. To be honest, it does seem kinda odd we didn’t know about certain species of animals before they were used as the basis for Pokémon. Heck, look at how much people love the axolotl! Problem is…most fans only found out about it because of MUDKIP!
This series is going to be such a breath of fresh air for Pokémon fans and I wouldn’t be surprised to see this channel build up a substantial following because of it! Not only is it a great idea but it’s also excecuted well. Excited to see the future of this series!
I like the idea that the food web in Viridian forest often mimicks actual forest animal. So in essence. The keystone species are the pidgeot who sit at the top of the food web for population control, and pokemon like Beedril for being onmivorous pollenators.
What if you first land on pokéworld with a spaceship and encounter these.. 😮😁 Starlog: 'warning hostile and dangerous insectoid wildlife is encountered here , stay away'..
Every video that the PokéNational Geographic made are great to see Pokemon in real life beside from games and anime series. I would like to see more Pokemon like Butterfree, Beautifly, Rapidash, Vulpix (Kanto/Alolan), Ninetales(Kanto/Alolan), Emolga, Pachirisu, Tsareena, Milotic, Serperior, Primarina and Florges.
Maybe not a popular take but you may want the feedback anyway: I strongly prefer the realistic and series tone, as opposed to the comedy/parody script. Makes it feel like an actual documentary with focus on Pokémon format rather than yet another nature doc satire that takes away focus on the reason we clicked And I usually prefer comedy above everything. Just my thoughts
I'm glad someone was able to make this series I attempted to a few years back but couldn't really do it because I was focusing on learning to be blind lol great job homie! keep it up!
It might not be a popular thing to imagine, but perhaps Beedrill's favorite prey item is likely Pikachu. Also, Combee might be more of a case of convergent evolution. Based on features like location, size, shape, and forearms, Beedrill and Scyther could very well be much more closely related, evolving more toward handling a particular biome
These first several episodes have been amazing, and I sincerely hope you continue making them going forward! As for this episode specifically, the stripes on the abdomen at first struck me as the way that some animals seem to have holographic colours that change as you look at them, although usually a type of iridescence that reflects specific ranges of colours or gradients, could also create a similar display of stripes moving across a body. In retrospect, it would seem that it was likely a cheat in animation, but I like the idea that a Beedrill's fur simply creates that illusion.
Morgan Freeman Voice: and here we are once more. Out in nature. But, we have a very special sighting for today. The elusive Bronzor. Bronzor are steel and psychic types that hover around aimlessly and can be mostly found near old ruins in Paldea. However they dont like to be found. But on this special night we found one. As you can see, Bronzor levitate using the magnetic energy they exert from their bodies much like Beldum, Metang and Metagross do- wait. Whats that? Jerry, i dont know what that is. Yes i know its pink, Jerry, but what i want to know is why it has a giant hammer. Whys it looking at that bronzor funny? Oh god. *CLANG* Oh sweet salty christ no.
Oh, those beedrill already made their home inside a forestry (as you can see by the homogenus tree planting)... whom should I call to get them removed? The Pokemon Rangers?
This was pretty but how dare you rewrite Beedrill’s Pokédex. They don’t eat Caterpie and Venonat, they are bees. Also a professor would not sound that young.
kakuna are supposed to have their head above. also, aren't genesect and buzzwhole (among others) far more deadly then even a mega evolved beedrill? not what i'd call "the deadliest bug type".
I’ll start with saying great work! Truly. The time alone is commendable. I’m being a stickler over the small stuff. Wouldn’t venom only be found in snake like Pokémon? I know it’s all made it up stuff just wanted to add to the realism
Bro… you need to go full National Geographic and show a heard of Arcanine taking down a Tauros and feeding the heard… dark, but you gotta admit that shit would be funny af
Imagine you're going on a lovely nature walk with your family then suddenly get jabbed in the neck by a giant frickin be and for that to be a natural occurrence.
“Beedrill preys on smaller bug type pokemon such as caterpie or venonat and uses its venom to incapacitate its prey” *Beedrill uses poison sting on the wild venonat for over an hour* *the wild venonat is never poisoned* I guess that beedrill has the corosion ability then.
So when can we expect detective pikachu 2? Also Kakuna is based on a real insect that looks identical, not sure what exactly, but they at least live in south eastern greece.
This was a super fun project to think about and write for, thanks for the inclusion! Love the fuzzy texture and the erratic movements - really helps bring Beedrill alive!
I would love one on Meloetta.
So cool to learn you helped write this!!!
I think y’all sleepin on how tremendously creative this is and or what it is capable of being
Please do all Pokémon. Thank you
Can I request my favorite Pokémon, Oddish? I always thought it was a cute and accessible plant type found in any garden.
This is a really nice documentary!
I have come to like beedrill a lot. I had a little problem with how impersonal it feels compared to buterfree, but it is great in its own way.
Kinda sad that we didn't get to see Weedle, but it's still really cool that this exists.
Poison sting and poison jab?
Mate, you literally forgot their signature move "Twin Needle"
Also poison move too.
I love all your work! Great video!
I do wonder what your shorts on man made pokemon will be like. Are they gonna be invasive? Do they even eat? I know you made one of claydol and baltoy but those are more ancient than modern.

And all of a sudden, a 10 years old boy with a flying lizard that can breathe fire decided to capture it
Very good job with the Beedrill model. That definitely isn’t something I’d like to meet in a dense forest. ._.
Wdym model? Its real, i found one once when i went outside my house to Shiny Hunt.
@@RyokoWolfdon’t worry they just mean the beedrill that modeled and showed off for this video

This series hasn't lost any charm with the switch from Michaelson to Ginkgo. Well done!
I heavily disagree
I prefer michaelson too
I understand that is it is very large and dangerous, but here me out: It is very large and fluffy therefore, worth trying to pet and hug
So SO glad i stumbled across this channel. You’re doing AMAZING work!!! Thank you for doing this for us!!

I love this but man I miss the AI voice over.
Subtitles non-automatic generated for my students English lessons! They love your channel!
Venonat is actually larger than Beedrill.
I'd love to see you do a cubone/marowak one!
I would be horrified if bees were this huge in real life

Oh this was so beautifully done. Thank you for showing off so much of first gen 🥰
“The deadliest bug type, beedrill” every fully-evolved bug type from unova:
They really need to buff my boy 😢
I love all of you videos! I've been showing them to my mom and she thinks they're really well made
Nice series. Stay far away from switch Pokémon content please. Those games are not Pokémon; just cashgrabs.

Wow nice this makes me wanna play Pokémon Ultra Sun and Moon and use Mega Beedrill
Your voice fits the narration so well!! Can't wait to see more inadept videos on other pokemon in the future! You're doing so well!!
I've always wanted a more educational pokemon series like animal planet, thank you so much for making these and just love the kakunas!
Need some love for my homie Donphan.
Oh wow!
Pokemon makes me not shy to this day.... thanks for pokenational ...
It makes you look at Pokémon differently when you imagine them eating each other and not just eating berries and puffins 😂
Pls. Do Wumple line !!!!! Pls. 🐛🦋🦋
this was a treat! Weedle and Beedrill are my favorite pokemon, and it was amazing to see a Beedrill animated like this
Ok that kakuna was wayyyy too small comparatively to beedrill dont tell me that big beedrill will come out from that small kakuna
To be fair, it evolves. No piece of Pokémon lore says that beedrill comes out of the cocoon (if I remember)
These look so insane! The amount of detail and dedication in this ❤
Yet another person with more passion than the entire game freak staff.
You're a Arceus damned genius!
I love these videos!
Oh my gosh what a collab! This was so good and I loved how fuzzy beedrill is! Excellent work, can't wait to see more!
The amount of enjoyment I get from these videos is unreal keep up such amazing work 👏🏼
Ginko Bolaba
Hmmm I think I still prefer Pokearth. The Pokemon actually do things instead of just idling the entire video

Whereas Kakuna noticed the Camera Beedrill didn't.....yeah probably for the best
This is amazing
Please don't do any spider Pokémon. Arachnophobia is quite common, and these Pokémon look very realistic.

YES! My favorite Bug Type!
The 3rd stinger 🐝 is best used while grappling with your forelimbs rather than defending from behind.
Untouched forest? Lemme bring that level 100 Zardy Boi. We are touching every leaf in that forest.
This is lovely, but my eye twitches every type you say "PokEEmon" instead of "Pokémon"... lol
Pokemon don't eat each other! They eat berries, curry and sub sandwiches. (Sometimes ketchup.)
I would literally die if I saw a Beedrill irl
Now I understand why Misty HATES Bug-Types.

Basically they are Pokémon’s version of murder hornets 😂
I always love beedril. For me as a Pokémon trainer I use Pokémon that I find cool as opposed to using Pokémon with high stats
Oh nah😂if this is how Beedrill looks, i cant imagine Vespiquen😂
Woaaaaahh!!! You nailed their head movements and fuzzyness!! Just like a real bee! Very charming!!!
Kakuna looks so adorable. They remind me of hackey sacks (I'm not sure of I spelled it right).
I’m actually a fan of the chameleon type eyes and facial structure, as this is probably would it would look like more realistically.

Real shit if pokemon were real, the textures alone would make me stay inside. Have you seen a Grimer??? Or a probopass? Or a drowsee? Terrifying.
We would be fucked in bees/wasps were really that big.

kakuna are supposed to have their head above.

"the deadliest bug type" beedrills stat total and typing: you LIE
Yay! beedrill! My fave starter bug pokemon
Giant bugs fake or not should not be approached, you couldn't pay me to visit such a place.

This is an amazing concept. 9/10. I have to deduct a point because the narrator mispronounced "Pokémon".
Beedril's model is a bit weird in my opinion, especially the fuzzy hair, isn't Beedril supposed to be a wasp ? :o
