That's been in my head forever.........
This video made me realize that, like many real-world organisms, Digletts may have two modes of reproduction: asexual (budding) and sexual (eggs). Dugtrio could simply be a Diglett that is large and healthy enough to begin reproducing by budding/division.
We may never see them divide while on our teams because, like real-world sea anemones, they only divide in life-or-death situations like extreme physiological stress or severe damage.
In real life, aphids can birth clones of themselves.If we applied that to Dugtrio possibly budding, it would explain what's going on. Clones of itself through asexual means, and then true offspring through eggs.
This series is criminally underrated. It looks so good!
I love the headcanon that not a single person on earth knows what diglett looks like because even though they could just pull them out of the ground to check everyone is like "I mean I'd like to know but if it means bothering these little guys then it's not worth it"
Maybe we can learn a lot from the pokemon world

Well, it's that and I assume that humans aren't strong enough to pull them out while they're pulling in... Also it helps that digletts seem pretty social and all know some pretty deadly moves meaning it probably isn't a good idea in general
I don't know what I expected Digglet's texture to be like but I was not expecting it to be a finger 😂

I sometimes wonder what Diglett and Dugtrio's body would lool like if they off the ground (like pulling grass from the ground).
According to the source, something like a hand. Because they canonically have claws, I would assume it looks like a clawed hand, with each leg being a "finger" and possibly a "thumb" tail
They would just look like moles since that’s what they’re based on. A mole poking its head out of the ground. Their bodies would probably be something similar to Drilbur’s who is also based on a mole and Diglett would hypothetically probably walk on all fours.
I always imagined them as looking like potatoes with little legs, LMAO.

I wonder if Furret, or another Ferret/weasel like Pokémon hunts diglett as prey?, with they’re long slender bodies and stubby legs they could easily track down and hunt diglett in they’re tunnels
Pokédex wise this checks out as it can easily slip into burrows to hunt prey

How is Dodrio grouped into the same evolutionary class as Dugtrio and Magneton? A Doduo doesn't come together with half of another Doduo. Rather, a third head and personality is grown from the body of the original bird. This is not the same as the presumed evolutionary mechanic of Diglett, Magnemite, Beldum, or Metang. It's more akin to Deino's evolution, where an entirely new personality physically splits off to share the body of the original specimens, rather than existing separate individuals joining together to form one being. Similarly, while Beldum and Metang lose their individuality to a collective and new personality upon their fusion with another Beldum or Metang, respectively, Dodrio and Zweilous don't have a hivemind. In fact, each head on both pokemon have their own personalities and drives, and the heads are often in conflict with one another.

I am just saying it makes no sense that we don't know what it looks like underneath we have used this thing on boats before it cant just burrow into the deck, or when we ar riding on other pokemon in the ocean, its not just digging into me water pokemons head/back. Great video by the way.
