Funniest scene, Steve meeting Dustin in "scoops ahoy", the crazy enthusiasm, funny handshake and the girl says "how many kids do you know", and that moment Steve realizes he has just lost some serious street cred.
Steve is my favorite character. now I really want Jean Ralphio on the show next season
Funniest scene for me was when Hoppers receptionist gives him the new shirt he ask for and his partner says "that's a lot of colors for you chief" and Hopper shouts "it's cutting edge"
too many funny seasons. first season was the best and had very little comedy.
@@falconbox I think its natural for a series to get more lighthearted over time as long as they dont go overboard with it
I thought the funniest scene was when Hopper Joyce, Murray and Alexei were in the car and Murray calls out the sexual tension between Joyce and Jim it was hilarious
How did Joyce and Hopper accomplish nothing with their mission? They've learned how to destroy "the key", the most important part of the plan.
Exactly. What each group learned combined ended up as one big payoff at the end. I thought it was great.
Was literally just going to comment the same thing. While I like him, Alex just likes to be overly critical.
@@BerryTC agreed him being critical has for sure beyond just nitpicking, either that or him tuning out made him miss a lot of small details.
Quests needs to be a Mcguffin or something tangible, with Alex it seems
Hey man you shouldn’t watch their channel is all you do is get mad at their opinions
The Dustin Steve Robin combo was much better than the other kids
@@buffalowick8003 That didn't make it weird 🤣. WTF!?
It was like a 2min part of 1 convo . If that fucked it up for you... that's just sad
@@MyZ001
It wasn't so much weird as it was disappointing.
@@nathanaels4195 Ok, I can see that...
They literally shipped two characters for most of the season showing mutual interest and great chemistry. Then they had one come out as gay they literally affects none of the other scenes in the show only for the simple fact that they have to please the SJW’s. I was hoping they would just make Will gay and let Steve have his girl.
@@buffalowick8003 4.5% of Americans identify as LGBT so for this to be the only character is entirely representative of that number. At every school there are gay people, im gonna make an assumption what you actually mean is you don't want to see it in your favourite tv programmes. Say it your with chest next time, nothing to do with sjws you just only want characters that look and sound exactly like you. Everything else irritates you or makes you uncomfortable which is incredibly sad and i feel sorry for you.
For me as Russian, this season was hilarious with its "evil ruskies". It is sooo stereotypical. "Red dawn" level. In Russia we call this type of stereotypes - "klukva" (Cranberry). In first episode, when russian soldier kills scientists for failed experiment (why? because EVIL russians!) , a russian civil war song starts to play - "Belaya Armia Cherni Baron" (White Army, Black baron). I had to stop video, and take 2 minute break to stop laughing. They just added it, because it sounds "evil", "menacing". But it is so out of place! Imagine reverse situation, and US marine is killing scientist while Yankee Doodles is playing in a background.
10 vodka of 10.
One of the most underrated comments
Severely underrated comment my friend. I do admit the Soviets in Stranger Things seem like a cartoon version of what they were in real life.
I find the whole "Russian is introduced to American revelry and sees all the fun he has been missing out on and is humbled and overjoyed" to feel a bit insulting whenever I see it (I'm British not Russian, fyi), obviously I understand that he has been denied such things working full time in the facility but it seems to crop up fairly often - simpleton from non-West overjoyed by the entertainment wonders of the West (or rather USA). A bit cringeworthy at best and a bit insulting at worst.
@@PPX14 well, I would say this moment didn't bothered me much. I know from my family experience , how shocking it was to visit west for the first - my mom visited Paris in 1980s when Gorbachev allowed foreign trips if there was an invitation from friend or relstive. Tons of different goods, food and quality service had a huge impact on soviet mind.
It can be cringy to see such scenes in movies, but they are believable.
On the other hand mall "security" with ak-47, and full underground fortress with dozens of soviet soldiers is just nonesence.
@@necaacen Alexei was cool, thought

Yeah Kev, Red Power Ranger lol lol
One thing they didn't touch on much was the visual effects, damn that monster was impressive as hell to look at, especially during the last fight!
The visual effects and the editing was stepped up this season big time
Especially when you watch it on an oled w/ dolby vision its really gourgous to look at.
I know right, very few CGI monsters get to me. But that thing was unsettling as hell. Maybe it was the way it could literally melt pieces of itself to squeeze through small spaces.
@@_Luluko_ well no duh, visual effects and a good story need to blend with each other well. They're kinda like a yin and yang. If 1 is shit, the other will suffer
So deliciously disgusting
Next season will be in 1986.
So it will obviously become a cross-over with Chernobyl.
Allah Akbar
Chernobyl was a masterpiece. They'd be smart to stay away from that storyline. It'd be one thing if HBO's Chernobyl came out a decade ago. But it's so soon, the analysis will be unavoidable ... and it'll only highlight how thin and pastiche the show is
They will travel back in time to 1953 and cross over with Dark
@@sayantanray9127 Sic Mundus Creatus Est
They'll probably allude to Chernobyl at most.
I have complaints, but after GoT I'm a lot more charitable to any show that can at least manage some fun. Plus Maya Hawke was great!
Michael Schwartz you kidding me! This season wasn’t bad but it was soooooo bland. No risks and not scary at all.

The hopper Joyce arc with Alexi had a point, he taught them how to destroy the machine.
Why didn't he make a mad dash for cover.
Alexi was also a super cool dude i.e. a nice Russian who eventually saw the light and fell in love with capitalism, lol
I was so happy the first half was just them being kids for the most part. I always wanted more of that
Siniša Tošić I don’t agree
I thought that was super cringey
@Dave Stephenson YEah because fuck good characterization!
Dave Stephenson how dare they develop the main driving force of the show
I would've had a problem if they weren't also developing the horror side of the story at the same time. But, they did, and I think it was a good balance.
But, I can understand that people didn't like the shift in tone, cause I'm mean... that's not how the show played for the first 2 seasons.
You see the terminator, but I see grumpy/mean/Russian/spiked-haired/ buffed-up Jim Carrey
Cheap Ship that’s exactly what I thought 😂
Literally when I first saw him I said "this man is angry Jim Carrey wtf"
Looks nothing like Jim Carrey.

I actually found this season gripping right from the start

I loved this season, I think I like it more than season 2
Wako60 agreed, I disagree with a lot of things they said
Why do people keep saying the beginning of season 3 is boring. I was engaged the whole way through.
Me too. I was impressed the whole way through after I found season 2 kinda tough to trudge through the whole thing. This one kept me interested throughout and between all the different viewpoints. Loved it.
Episode 4 actually had me engaged, especially with the chilling scene at Heather's parents', but then everything went downhill.

I like how the duffer brothers made Eleven lose her powers at the end. This means she wouldnt be able to find Hopper using her powers. Very smart and subtle
Wow, so smart lol
More like convenient.
I think they just didn't want her to save the day at third year in a row. Also, they probably want her to experience being 'normal'.
It makes no sense
We know she will get them back anyway lol

This season was much better high tbh
I wanted more of Jonathan, they built him like a badass in the first season and I feel like it never paid off
I mean, they toned down the creepy stalker vibe, at least.
Because the Duffer's want him gone. If Nancy' was his IRL Girlfriend he'd be killed off
Ryan Golden No, thank you. They need to get rid of Nancy and Jonathan. Those two are dull as hell on the show
@@CloisForever29 They haven't done anything interesting with them since S1.
@@onizuka Wait, what?
It's a shame to see billy go after all we only learned his full backstory
I personally didn't give one fuck about Billy. I hated his character since he was introduced. They should have given him an at least SOMEWHAT redeeming arc before he was taken over by the flayer. They did it SO good with Steve. I absolutely hated him at first, but he started growing on me just a LITTLE by the end of season 1. Then throughout season 2, the dude won me over and is now one of my favorite characters. Billy was completely one dimensional from start to finish. I really just wish we could have gotten more from him that would have made me actually care when he died. One good deed right before he died just wasn't enough for me. I also didn't understand how Max was so distraught by his death when he has never been anything but incredibly mean and abusive to her.
@@TheJokesterSCR Billy is all Max has as a care taker. That's a huge part of her world disappearing.

There were LOTS of silly movies where kids "save the world" on the 80's. That was the whole point of the Russian arc in this season.
Maybe they should've been Russian *mercenaries* instead --like the Hans Gruber crew in Die Hard.
@@paradoxacres1063 You are totally right. It would have been better.
True, but they forgot about the Stranger Things premise when they went with this "funny bad russians beaten by goonies-referencing kids with gadgets".
Meanwhile, a season went by, and there was less upside-down than ever; we learned nothing new about the main vector of this series. At this rate we can go 17 seasons.
@@Nyarlah what? Replace russians with scientists and thats what the first season was about too. Thats the whole point of this show lol. These guys, and you in the comments, missed SO many things such as the points and reasons for almost everything they dislike lol. Yikes.

He's a narcissist you can tell lol
Season 3 was not that good.
He's always so negative.
If you're saying that because of his opinion you would hate him in real life then you seriously have some problems you need to work out. I really don't understand why people are such snowflakes.
He’s basically their Simon Cowell. I think he’s like that I’m purpose so they have an actual critic on the show.
I'd give this season a 5/10, the story felt stretched and dried out. Mass shoving of 80s reference like they're doing fan service, nope that's not how it's done, multiple pointless storylines, the double and way too long never ending story karaoke that was out of place, fake Hopper's kill for a cheap cliffhanger... Stranger Things going down in flames and that's a shame!
I wonder how much people are going to pretend it's still a great show? GoT started going downhill from the moment they killed Tywin and season 5 was terrible but somehow all the way through season 7 people STILL pretended it was anywhere near the same quality. It took the last 4 episodes of season 8 for more and more people to turn on it until even the die hard defenders left after the finale.
ST should have ended after season 1. Season 2 was kinda bad and this season is a 5/10 I'd agree. I'm genuinely surprised by how much people are choosing to ignore all the issues because of the characters.
8.5/10 for me, not quite as good as Season 2, but infinitely better than Season 1.
Definitely not, its absolutely 8.5/10. Near the level of season 1, but definitely better than 2
Definitely 9/10 for me,sry I’m late for the party

I thought the Far From Home review was the final nail in the coffin but calling this season boring is crazy.
I loved the build up in the first couple of episodes and the character reactions and world they built was so fun to watch.

If they kept taking time to just bond while hell was breaking loose they would've just complained about how dumb they were focusing on their relationship problems the whole time when they all should be trying to stop everyone from dying. I feel Alex brings too much negative energy and the Joe's get influenced by it. I don't watch them too often but their Far From Home review was crazy to me too when it was one of my favorite marvel movies recently. I wasn't too sure about the first two episodes but it went full steam ahead around episode 3/4. I loved it! I didn't mind the over the top/jumping the shark moments tbh coz its a homage to 80s cheesy adventure movies.
K J same. First episode was the worst for me. Cringy, lame humor, and an imbalance of drama that made it feel like a teen soap opera. By episode 3, however, my cynicism lessened, and the rest of the season spiraled into greatness. After the excellent first season (which is still the best by far), the second season disappointed me greatly with how much of a retread it was of the first. You've gotta understand these tropes ARE 80s movies. That's the whole concept of Stranger Things, replicating that 80s nostalgia. The shifts in tone, going from light comedy to survival horror so quickly at points made those moments more impactful.
This season had way more character development and interactions compared to season 2 that *does* have an impact on the conclusion. The subplots that were unresolved will likely be addressed in a future season.
The show has always had an element of cheese, callbacks and unresolved plotpoints - despite the praise for season 1, it shares many of these problems.
I REALLY liked this season. Probably on the same tier as 1, but better than season 2.
Yeah you hit the nail on the head. Stranger Things isn't just 80's references, It is a literal 80's movie made long running series. That means it comes with all the fun crazy tropes that 80's movies are known for.

I don't think he's ever satisfied. Joe should get rid of him imo. Some of his points are based on nitpicks and he gets caught up in them
I don't understand the "no originality" argument I keep hearing. Have we been watching the same show? Cause I could name a bunch of media that the previous two seasons ape. Half-Life, the Exorcist, Gremlins, ET, IT, Aliens, Stand by Me, etc.
I felt goonies vibes in season 1 as well.
@@JCity17 Hell, in season 2 Sean Astin himself made a Goonies reference. "What's at the X, pirate treasure?" Or something like that.
I think they (and myself) are more bummed out about how stuff was copied. Yeah of course the whole show has a foundation in 80s tropes and nostalgia but the other seasons manipulated the source material more creatively.
Copy+pasting the terminator into season 3 just wasn't very interesting. In the actual Terminator movie where the guy seemed truly unstoppable and the audience was constantly worried about when he will catch up to the protagonists. In this season the guy was basically forgettable, sure he followed Joyce and Hopper around but with the exception of a couple brief fights he was a minor threat compared to the giant meat monster. They took an unstoppable force and made him into a speed bump.
@@Rampant16 Exactly, in Seasons 1-2, it rarely if ever felt to me like the show was mocking or even copying the 80s. More so it felt like they had their own original story while paying homage to the 80s. I remember watching Season 1 especially thinking this legitimately looks like someone jumped in a time machine and landed in a small town in the 80s. Season 3 felt like an 80s cosplay party.
Not once did I find this season boring or slow... I mean what show doesn't have an episode with less action? This is definitely my favorite season.
Slow as in the writing or character archs, it didn’t seem to make much progress in the characters development which obviously isn’t fun to watch
It was so action packed there were literally no slow parts
How is it better than 1?
@@soul-gl6xb there was tons of character development
@@patrickbateman9115 I mean one was so long ago but I liked how this season had tension throughout episodes going between scenes leaving on cliff hangers each time keeping you invested in wanting to know what's about to happen in multiple scenarios at the same time. I still loved season one though. Season two, not so much
I actually really liked all the branding. The fact they went so far into detail to actually recreate old packaging with the buger king and all that was really cool.
i love how hte flayer knew exactly where the kids were, but whne the monster gets there, it can't find them from 2 feet away.
I felt like season 3 was definitely more light-hearted and comical, especially with the Russian general, the doctor that gave Steve and Robin the truth serum and Alexei and all of their shenanigans. It definitely had its horror moments though, for example Mrs. Driscoll chomping on that fertilizer and screaming "I GOTTA GO BACK!!!!!", like that was intense. Overall, it's a solid 7.5/10 for me.
Vasil Zahariev I thought it was darker, gorier and scarier at the same time. The mind flayer in physical form was fucked up!

The one thing I hated in the 3rd season is Billy dying. It was SO disappointing because I thought he was going to come back and having going through ALL of that would finally be a proper father/brother figure towards his sitser but NOPE.....nope.
I didn't care that he died at all. He was one dimensional since he was introduced last season. He was a highly unlikable character. They should have given him even a short redeeming arc before he became possessed. Then, it would have also made sense why Max was so upset by his death. He was abusive to her from the start. Family or not, I wouldn't cry over anybody who abused me.
The Clint Commander I think she might’ve known just how mentally damaged Billy was. in the same way that a lot of the audience ended up crying over Billy’s death, I think she knew enough about him to end up having empathy. that doesn’t go for everyone but I know the flashback hit a lot of people hard
Another fare point
Season 3 is stupid AF.
The big boss is garbage been bullied around by kids, then finally it can kill some worst dude that decided to repent and protect 11 by hand pushing against the giant monster.
Then the monster decided to pause for a while for his death, so the Goodguys can close the portal in time. WTF
What trash verdicts in my opinion, season 3 was wayyy better than season 2
Agree, Noah acting in S2 is superb tho. Hard to top it.
Idk what they are on about, I loved this season. Dustin, Steve, and Robin stole the show and Nancy was a badass. Nancy has had awesome character progression from where she was at back in season 1.
Nancy was fucking useless. TOTALLY fucking useless. Nothing but wasted airtime for her and her drug addicted IRL boyfriend.
@@onizuka Tell us how you really feel.
I agree. She went from typical teen to gun-wielding badass
@@fury2690 She always did shoot shit, ever since S1.
Yeah my least favorite group is Jonathon and Nancy. Just annoying.
Season 4 could be interesting on paper. To this point, every season has been about closing the gate. Season 4 may revolve around the only way to save Hopper is by opening the gate.
Dont think about it as them going to Russia. Majority of the season could be about them navigating the upside down in order to save Hopper.
Yeah seems pretty straight forward.
Starts with sad Eleven and high school boys. Eleven detects Hopper. Plan mission to bust through upside down to get to Hopper. Setting a lot of the 2nd half of the season in the upisde down makes it scarier and more crazy than before. Maybe cut down the cast a bit so we get more focused in on the kids we like. Cut screaming Joyce and useless Will out entirely.
Seriously, does Alex like anything!?
Best season! the plot Points did make sense! You can't check out and then complain that you don't get some parts of the story.
First season is the best
D M no it’s not. The last 4 episodes is heads and shoulders above both seasons.
@@Qthetar no
Qthetar nah first season is still the best
This isnt just a tv show set in the 80s. Its a tv show paying homage to movies of the 80s. So when you see kids breaking into underground Russian bases, the show isnt jumping the shark. Its staying true to its mission statement. When you see kids having to sing for their girlfriends, that not jumping the shark either. Its staying true to what the show is.
The 80s were ridiculous.
Kids built a spaceship out of an old tilt a whirl car. Kids travelled back in time in a sports car and had them fending off the sexual advances of their would be mothers. Kids found pirate treasure maps in their attics and found actual pirate treasure in underground caverns that no one had ever thought to look in. They found cute little bears that multiplied when you splashed them with water, and got creepy if you fed them after midnight. They made friends with weird looking aliens and had impromptu dance parties at mcdonalds while being chased by feds. Thats what you are watching.
I see your point, but you can pay homage to the 80s without making it pure fanservice and lacking in originality. One can use the tropes of the 80's creatively, that's what got us hooked into the first season in the first place. The upside down is a great concept, it has a Stephen King vibe, why not to explore more of it? Instead lets put every bit of references we can squeeze into few episodes just for a nostalgia trip. It's the third season already, nostalgia alone can't make for the ridiculous plot of evil but useless Russians, or the repetitive developments: Jim's death is any different than Bob's? Was it for anything else other than the drama and making Eleven move away? Billy instead of getting a proper backstory he got a memory surfing with Mom. Suddenly everything is about romantic relationships, what about friendship? The writing was going nowhere and more effects and action couldn't make up for it.
Thank you!!! And for the argument of it being "fan service"... yes. That's exactly what it is, and that's exactly what they are going for. An original story using tropes and references from the 80's.
Nico H just bc they're going for the silliness doesn't mean one needs to like it. And honestly I really liked the season but if we keep going through this ideology where "anything can happen bc its not meant to be taken seriously" then the show can become a mess real quick.
This so much
@@isabel2483 Eleven close a big fucking portal in S2, using prolly all her power. They cant top it in one year, make no fucking sense. Besides, they touch the upside down and Eleven arc with Billy, when he was talking in the cabin.

The only scene with some emotional weight in all the season for me was when El read Hooper's letter. That's the only moment when I felt anything in that season.
And I didn't even like Hooper in that season...
Mathieu Bishop he was better in 2

SuperCasperman actually I think he said the rest of the episodes on the latest season were so bad that he wasn't surprised the last episode was bad lol. He said it was better than he expected but his expectations were so low that it doesn't mean that "it wasn't bad".
I usually scroll down before watching to see if Alex hates it. He usually does. I'm done with these videos after their crap review of Spidey Far from home.
Most people just accept mediocre products and move on. Alex is a cynical, just like me. And it sucks to be like this. I went in with low expectations and I still got disappointed by how predictable the whole season was.
I'm not usually critical on thing unless it was done so badly like BvS and GoT (last season) with this said, I loved this season as well. The series is just filled with so many fun and cute characters despite the threats.
And that’s a problem. Season one was more serious. Now it’s basically a marvel movie.
squattingheads I disagree, but to each their own.
@@squattingheads sure, especially exploding rats and all the rest of the gore.
Ironically enough this season had more horror moments than previous ones. It's just that the tone overall shifted towards comedy.
I personally didn't like the Russian subplot either. But if you remember even season 1 had cartoonishly evil corporation, government agents and all those stereotypes. So there are no real big shift in storytelling here. It's just didn't work for me personally.
People crying and whining because Joes and Alex are not agreeing with their shitty taste LOL this season was all product placement and extra over the top cheez on everything the only good episode was the last episode. Season 1 was a J. Carpenter homage 10/10 season 2 not worth mentioning 4/10 and season 3 was an ALF episode with BENNY HILL music in the score!!! 5/10 SMH
Also why is no one talking about Eleven going from talking like a normal teenager one minute to talking like a robot that’s still learning how to speak the next minute! Sighhh
The kids infiltrating a Russian stronghold gave me kind of “flight of the navigator” vibes..... I think they nailed the nostalgia.

Emil Andersen ok
"Says you". It's like Joe now has a "critic-mode" that somehow would alter what he has to say. What defines a critic Joe ?
Nyarlah Key example is Godzilla review. Joe wanted big monster battles not human storylines but had to be like “were cRiTICS we should want there to be a story instead of monster fights” and so he essentially was silencing his own opinion to be more of a “critic”. I get the feeling these guys watched this season with all the lights on and cuddled up with each other and talking through it. Your doing it wrong, you have to watch it in a dark room by yourself and actually feel immersed into it. They are really under appreciating how good this season was and nit picking way too hard about the tiniest details. It’s probably because they watch way too much TV and they don’t have the attention span to watch things anymore and they become jaded and under appreciative. This season was 10/10 in my opinion and the only season of any show that comes close is season 1 of game of thrones or season 1 of stranger things.
First two episodes were slow, to build up the plot, but gripping nevertheless. The rest of the season ramped up the intensity and had me on the edge of seat, terrified, laughing, loved all of it!

@@thinkingoutloud3757 Yeah, I agree with you. They'll most likely bring her back. There is an episode in the middle of the season for no reason. That wasn't necessary. But now with a Season 4 coming out, they have to give her some emphasis
That one episode really fucked things up 😂
I was watching this season with my dad and listening to him nerd out over certain things was pretty funny. The russian guy said a line straight from die hard in the basement of that house, then there's a fight that feels straight out of die hard, then it basically turns into terminator. My dad thought it was great.
I feel like they would like the idea of children infiltrating a Russian facility if they watched War Games.
It depends on what we want from stranger things. A goofy season with adult russians beaten by childrens, Goonies-style, or children buddies tackling a paranormal event because adults won't believe it.
Season 1 was about the paranormal and mystery, this season forgot everything about the mystery, and chose to oppose american kids to a russian underground complex, which is by design ridiculous and uninteresting in the world of Stranger Things (imo).
I want to learn about the upside-down, I don't want a shitty spy kids russian-version that dodges the whole premise of the series (the upside-down).
Nah they would have had to actually grow up in the 80's to find any joy in the idea of a secret Russian base under the Mall. I loved this series. I grew up in the eighties and enjoyed the references to those days a lot. What topped it off for me was the inclusion of the Never Ending Story in the finale! (loved the film and song when I was a kid) I think this season builds up really well towards the rollercoaster of emotions that's in the final episode. Definitely 9/10 for me.
My only issue with the season was they never explained why the Russians are pursing opening the portal/door. Like they never noticed they could potentially end the world? Aside from that tho 9/10.
