Loved Vigilante. He wasn't the typical useless comic relief, but was actually very useful and skilled. It almost reminded me of Big Trouble in Little China with how Peacemaker was the comic relief.

@Austin Madore arguably only the Mandalorian is good, everything else has good moments, but nothing consistent. Couldn't care less for this filler marvel shows, even less so for the animated crap, whether marvel or starwars

The intro is f%%king amazing. The pure stone faces on all of the actors, the fact that Cena doesn't start dancing in the intro until after a "5,6,7,8" count, and how Eagly lands at the end, looks down, notices he's in the wrong spot, and moves over about 2 inches.
It's gold honestly.
Seriously though, this show was what HBOmax needed. Max didn't have any hardcore exclusive shows that were drawing me to the service and I'm definitely pleased with what I've seen so far.
My only gripes are that some jokes run for way too long (especially the Louis CK joke in episode 2, that one felt like it went on for 5 minutes) and the blonde lady gets on my nerves with how she's in a constant bad mood. But besides those two things the shows a 7 or 8 out of 10 for me so far.

This show is great, all three episodes were really funny and entertaining for me. Usually I skip the into after the first viewing but the song and dancing is so good I watch it everytime. There's also after credit scenes.

Yeah nah. Nothing worked in this show. The chemistry is awful. The characters are painfully boring and the jokes are GOD AWFUL. It was a mental exercise trying to watch this 🙄

Surprisingly good because I literally had no expectations. I thought they were just going to ignore what happened in the movie. Nah, they just added more details about Peacemaker's history and actually made a decent story out of a character I thought I didn't care about.

Who knew he'd be so good at playing an all-American hero who was actually an imperialist stooge and was willing to throw an island nation under the bus to serve his masters.

Vigilante makes every scene so much more enjoyable to me. Easily my favorite character in the show and the one sidecharacter i thoroughly enjoy.
Looks like when Marvel copied Deathstroke with Deadpool except with a sense of humor. DC is now copying Deadpool with Vigilante.

They’re self aware cause Peacemaker even calls it out by saying “Does anyone NOT have a weird last name?” or something like that.
I really liked Rick Flagg, and I think that if he had to die, there are few more awesome ways to do it than in an amazing brawl with Peacemaker and then saying the one line that would make Peacemaker re-evaluate his life. It's like Jason Bourne: that guy was a CIA hitman who made lots of kids into orphans but we end up rooting for him in the end because he changed his ways. I love that kind of story and I love that it's going to happen to Peacemaker (or not, James Gunn might want to try something out of left field) and most of all, I love that John Cena somehow manages to pull off a fair bit of acting and comedy.
What acting? He was just doing face exercises all the time to make his face more muscular.
James Gunn tweeted something about already knowing what he wants to do for a second season, just hasn't been greenlit yet. Hopefully it is!
John Cena is like a live action figure and has a lot of comedy appeal. That's why this show (so far at least) actually works. And has some really hilarious scenes. Better than i expected.

Cena really brings some unexpected emotion to the role of a superhero douchebag. You can see the horrible childhood, the insecurity, the ego, the loneliness in everything he does. I’m very pleasantly surprised.
Absolutely love the show and I’m excited for the next episodes, the only weird thing about it is that the jokes drag on sometimes or they ramble too much on a joke. Other than that EXCELLENT show.

I was blown away with the sheer balls James Gunn has. I was “clutching pearls” while laughing at the cringe of it. Also, as a Cena fan, he is perfect for this roll. So crazy its great….so far. I agree it got a bit over the top at times. Reign it in just a bit and it is a perfect show (for mature adults only…I cant stress this show is pure R rating).
You can tell the quality of a movie or show just by Alex's posture -- he definitely doesn't look like a hostage here!
Also I really like the intro, I think I've watched it over a dozen times.

The scene where Peacemaker was crying in his bed questioning everything he's done including killing Rick Flag was amazing. I laughed and felt so bad at the same time for him.

Its has problems but its enjoyable, entertaining and has loveable characters. A win for me.

That would be the dumbest decision DC could make...James Gunn is good when it comes to barely known D-F list characters..Its what he's great at, he has zero desire to work with mainstream A list characters. He's said that himself.
Vigilante is by far, my favorite part of the show. Dude is hilarious!
I hope they DON'T "tone it down" - it's a perfect mix of humor, action, plot, characters, and some heartfelt moments sprinkled in.
The 400 gigs of alliance joke actually made me laugh out loud which is a really hard feat.
I thought the part about Peacemaker being a guy who believes pro wrestling was real was good ...thats a John Cena joke I never saw coming .

The end of episode 4 was probably the most depressing thing I've ever seen in cinema. It fucked with me for like a week, but I can't stop watching it. It's just so well done. I love this show. It's like a character study drama disguised as a superhero comedy.

Yeah NO......I like Peacemaker and all but in no universe do any of the DC shows on HBOmax even remotely come close to the budgets that shows like The Mandalorian, Book of Boba Fett or the MCU shows....It looks good and all but you can tell it was made on the cheap.

Over the top is good, so much stuff is epic and it's great that Gunn is willing to do things, and go dark, and have characters and themes that Hollywood shy away from in 2022, even though it's real life. Although they definitely made every dude in the series a pos, an idiot, or just awful. Lmao that couple from ep 1 was hilarious, definitely didn't expect that to end that way. Vigilante was funny, and the action is sooo damn good. Even the porch to porch thing was hilarious and looked like it hurt soo much. Also that Helmet was insane.

You know whats crazy is that the torture method would actually be really effective against the traditional heroes. For example, Superman would rather tell everything than let someone get hurt. Its just that in this case Peacemake doesn't give a fuck about Vigilante.................

HBO can track how many people hit the SKIP INTRO button and this is statistically the show with the least use of that button - even on subsequent episodes. Basically the most-watched intro on HBOMAX
After watching a good amount of all of Marvels Disney Plus series none of them were close to the level that Peacemaker was. A lot of the Marvel D+ shows are filler while Peacemaker gave us a surprisingly heartfelt series where by the end of season 1 you grew to love all these characters Peacemaker especially who seemed irredeemable after the Suicide Squad but James Gunn made us care.
Cena is so thrilled he doesn't have to ever go back to LOLWWE. That company is like a fyre festival twice a week level of embarrassing

Agreed, a show about an emotionless, boring and extremely unlikable character like her would not be something I'd watch.
I had very little expectation, just like I did with the suicide squad, but just like the movie,I actually was highly entertained. The intro really threw me off, and I was cracking up. I definitely feel that it can be over the top and a little too corky, but it's still entertaining. It's ironic that Peacemaker's dad(yes, I know he's T-1000) & Leota wife were both on the TWD.
The convo he has with the janitor makes it sound like his dad was peacemaker then he's referred to as white dragon i'm a lil confused but show is great

It's definitely bold for DC to start with such an odd character that's being carried by the actor instead of brand recognition. I wonder if they'll continue to expand on shows with the current characters or set up new leading characters

Peacemaker is batshit crazy in all the best ways possible! James Gunn has knocked it out of the park! All the humor & violence work so well together. I hope he does more DC projects! and something to point out is that peacemaker felt guilty for killing Rick Flag. Also after the events of the suicide squad, he only had one broken bone or one thing that needed fixed. I think that shows his resilience. Unlike most people that would probably have died or a lot more injuries.

Intro takes me back to the 60's and 70's TV vibe, The Muppet Show intro for example. Enjoyable.
All three episodes where Amazing and incredibly funny this show is definitely setting itself up to be one of the best and funniest Superhero shows out there, And I can’t wait to see what the next five episodes have in stock, Also that opening slaps way harder than it should and I absolutely love it :)
I’m sick of people of watching superheroes movies just to see if it’s going to fail like just enjoy it man either you like it or not don’t be coming in with those expectations I’m excited for anything superhero to come in and I have enjoyed everything so far from the past two years

(Other people have different experiences and views. I'm more then happy for you that you've enjoyed so many super hero movies lately! Maybe even a little jealous. But not everyone will. And some people will have different expectations. I agree that the expectation for one to fail may be bit unfair to them. But it's still a legitimate view. As we're talking opinions for the most part)

This is the first HBO show I've watched (somehow), and it's such a refreshing change from all the various Disney+ series. I love how entertaining it is to watch a show go all in on what it wants to be. I have a feeling I'm going to have a lot of catching up to do on all the HBO shows I skipped out on after this

Ended up watching the first 4 episodes yesterday and I can't wait for the next episode. So far the best DC series I have seen. And I do love that intro, a funny sidenote to the song in the intro: I watched an interview with the singer on Norwegian tv, before that song was picked to be the intro song they had such a big problem getting booked that the company doing their bookings had removed them from their list of bands, now suddenly everyone wants to book them.
The humor landed for me 95% of the time.

Daredevil was the first Marvel TV offshoot, if you ignore Agents of Shield which was even before that. Agents of Shield's canonicity is questionable, but as of the current crop of movies the Daredevil series is definitely part of the Marvel expanded universe.
Imagine…Peacemaker hangin’ with Deadpool. That…THAT be incredible! Obviously it could never happen, but damn…
For me I got a ton of deadpool jr. vibes from Vigilante, but yeah that would be a good combo.
